Maria Bonita Mexican Grill

I’m a traveling consultant and I’ve eaten Mexican food all over the place for the past 40 years. This is hands down the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. I came here for breakfast and liked it so much that I came for dinner. The flavors are amazing. You won’t easily find real Mexican food made like this outside of someone’s home. This place is a Hidden Gem. I’m going to take major detours so that I have to come through here. Amazing job to the whole staff. Service was excellent and very clean.

Stopped here after a swim meet with two hungry teenagers and it did not disappoint. The service was fantastic and it has been the best Mexican food we have eaten since being stationed in New Mexico. The everything we ordered was amazing, the birria tacos was a table favorite. If ever in the area again we will definitely be back. I also, recommend this place if you are looking for delicious home made Mexican food.

The best service in all of Hobbs. Such a happy place! Extremely impressed by the staff and the food is phenomenal! Most authentic cuisine around here. Birria is top notch!! The meal started out with yummy soup and chips with salsas all from scratch. There is so many unique writings on the walls. All the decor is either hilarious, beautiful or unique. It’s usually busy which makes so much sense! Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Excellent! The Mgr Eric was wonderful and accommodated our every need. Even made up sour cream & chicken enchiladas at our request and said they may put them on the menu afterwards! They even gave us a senior discount! ❤🥰

The service was on point and consistent! The food was delicious and large portions here!
It seems to be a very popular spot with lots of tables and tight squeezes… looks like they are expanding, so hopefully the construction is worth the atmospheric crowding!

First off, stop what you are doing & go eat at Maria’s! While you are eating, finish reading this review & others. This place is incredible. The food, awesome. Staff, awesome. Cleanliness, awesome. They have outdone themselves. This was my first time eating here & I’ve been coming to Hobbs for 20+ years. Shame on me for taking so long to find this place. Enjoy y’all!

Great food, good atmosphere, large portions. There is a wait time, but it is worth the wait. Definitely visiting again.

Their ceviche plate is fantastic! This place is my favorite thing about Hobbs. Sooooo good. The downside is the service is a bit slow for my liking, but I eat fast and for most people I bet they like not being bugged so much while eating. Definitely try this place. You will not be disappointed.

I can see why they have the need to expand! The atmosphere was nice but definitely need that extra space. I loved the food and portions were extra! Ceviche oh my! So fresh and the potato I ordered was so loaded!

My buddy and I visited Hobbs and checked Maria Bonita and man was it good! Their food is very authentic and fresh. I got the Arrachera (see picture). Many good plates to try when we visit again. Highly recommend!

The food and service is absolutely great. We've been here several times and we are never disappointed. The staff is friendly and they always have smiles as they work, which is not something you see very often these days. Our server, Judith, was awesome!

When they bring your drinks, they also bring you consomé, a very tasty broth. This time we ordered a caldo de camarón (shrimp soup), bean and cheese burrito w/fries from the kid's menu, and elote. Yum!

The table already has a variety of bottles of hot sauces, but they still bring out their homemade red and green sauces. If you like to add some spiciness to your food, you are going to love these. The green sauce is made from jalapenos and the red is made from árbol chiles. They both are amazingly flavorful and pack a punch.

The very best Mexican food. I loved that they served soup instead of chips when you are seated. The food was exceptional. Crowded even at 3 pm which is a great sign but despite being crowded, the service was fast.

I've never had a bad meal at this place. Have danced all around the menu and have yet to be disappointed, so I appreciate the consistency. It's a must try in Hobbs.

This is not your stereotypical Mexican restaurant folks. While the food selection may be familiar, the experience, presentation, and taste are all top notch. We enjoyed every bit of dining at this restaurant and will definitely be visiting again!

Best restaurant in town in my opinion. Fast cooks and plates are always big and delicious. Besides great service every time we go there Service always starts by serving a delicious soup while you look at the menu. Mix drinks and micheladas are really good 👍
