Monticello Ecological Park

Beautiful! Can’t wait to explore more of these beautiful trails. But make sure to use bug spray. We walked around about 15 mins and my legs have at least 15 bites.

10/17/2021. If you enjoy nature walks/hikes, birding, wildlife and beautiful scenery this is the place to be. True the workout equipment is in dis repair and the Rest Rooms and Picnic Area is very hard to get to if your disabled or visually impaired there is no signage on how or where it is. However the good points are it's truly a beautiful place to walk, run, take photos, study plants, trees, a few awesome bird species and a wonderful place to relax.

Great little park with easy and marked trails. There is actually only two parking spaces, one handicapped spot and one regular spot. It's limited in that aspect unless you don't mind to park on the side of the tiny street. The boardwalk (green trail) is really nice!

Very peaceful spot to stop for a few minutes while I make my way home from Monticello Ecological Park.

It's got quiet a bit of boardwalk that does become somewhat slippery with tree debris depending on the season.

It was quiet and tucked away. It has nice clear paths for hiking. I heard a couple of owls. The equipment on the path is dated but it was a nice place overall.

When my son was smaller we lived in the white house across the street from here before the boy scouts took over this area My son and his friend started this trail by hand they were cutting small branches and making a trail to play at everyday after school my son made a hut in the woods alng the trail they made then after playing there everyday for 6 years he joined the boy scouts and then they started making the trail a nature trail for them to explore nature they did this for 3 years then they started building the Eagles nest. Then after the city help out with money it became what we have today

Cute little park with great information plaques scattered nearly throughout. Couple different turns to add longer legs to your nature walk or keep it shorter if desired. Not a bad way to get some exercise in for short walks/runs with a pretty natural view

This is a super nice, often unpopulated Park. Great trails for dog walking. There has been some defacement and criminal mischief which keeps some of the informational signs unreadable, which does not lessen the enjoyment of the park. I am glad it is available!

You wouldn't expect to find this kind of park nestled amongst a row of suburbia, but it is truly a gem of a natural park. The Monticello Ecological Park features several nature trails that carry you through unspoiled Florida beauty. The first trail is highlighted by an elevated boardwalk over streams, foliage, and wildlife. This trail branches into several other trails that are clearly labeled with walk times. None of the trails are more than a shady 15-minute hike, so it works well an easy walk for younger children.

Never busy, nice variety of trees and viewing infrastructure, well mapped and has some information signs about the variety of large trees. There are primitive exercise stations and an ajoining running track that belongs to a school but is defacto accessible since small town. Needs geological and hydrological education kiosk since it has viewable ancient coral features. Wildlife is abundant and the creeks are traversable with water shoes. Plan 30 minutes to two hours depending on how much exploring you care to do, there's some intresting urban decay nearby like a bunch of old steel school house desks and very old cans.

December is the best time to visit. There were relatively no bugs to disturb a beautiful walk through old forest wetland.

Quiet place to relax and enjoy life, much less to get one off on the right start!

City of Montecello did a great job! Nice spot for a little (less than 3/4 mi) walk.

We regularly walk our dogs there, what a treat to have this beautiful place in downtown Monticello!
