Tupelo's Bakery & Cafe

This place is one of those true hidden gems where only the locals know about it. I've eaten here a number of times and love everything. They've mastered the art of flavor combinations. I challenge you to try all of them. They obviously use high quality ingredients and fresh bread. Portions and prices coincide and are very fair. Don't forget there's parking around back. Pro-tip for the traveler: this is very worth the trip off I-10 if you're coming through the area. Come to downtown historic Monticello. If you're a larger vehicle like an RV there's a public parking lot just north of the place on Mulberry Street. I know we'll be back!

Update: had them do lunch for a large event recently. Flawless service and fantastic flavors! This place just keeps amazing me.

Excellent food. We got the tomato spinach feta quiche, classic BLT, the hippie chick sandwich, and a kids grilled cheese. The food was amazing! Highly recommended.

I am beyond grateful have this delicious, woman-owned, organic bakery! Friendly staff. Parking available. Amazingly delicious baked goods at reasonable prices. Order and pick-up at the counter. I highly recommend for take out or for eat-in breakfast.

I am sure I have reviewed this cafe before but I came back again even though I live in another country:-) By far my favourite restaurant on our trip. I love the down home atmosphere and friendly service. The fresh made chicken salad sandwich was delicious and everyone in our party enjoyed their sandwiches and salads. I like that you can get half and sandwich or small salad. The store is lovely.

That was the best quiche of my life, and it’s not particularly close. I got the ham and cheddar but I suspect the others are also amazing, thanks to the pastry crust. I hope to be back soon.

The guava scones are heavenly! I wish they were on the menu every day. The service is always fast and friendly. I love looking at the art and shopping about in the Cafe. Stop in you will love it here.

I absolutely love this restaurant. I was very skeptical at first due to I was the only minority there. Which means black. But the staff was very friendly and nice. The food was delicious. I would definitely recommend them and definitely eat there again.

Stopped in the other day for the first time. They we're already sold out of quiche by the time we got there, so I ordered the small hippie chick salad for $4.50 (and a sugar-free root beer). Simple concept that was deliciously executed!

Very tasty!!!! Great salads and I ordered my daughters wedding cake from here! Just a nice little spot to get a sandwich, salad or treat. The brownies are yummy, too.

We just moved into the area & our Realtor gave us a gift certificate for Tupelo’s! Their food is EXCELLENT & we LOVE the small town friendliness & atmosphere!!!!

Wow. Driving on 90E and slowed down to enjoyed the Monticello FL cafe. Homemade food. Busy lunch crowd. Bee keeping supplies and lots of local honey. I love the taste of Tupelo honey and they had it for sale. I had a ham sandwich with a slice of swiss, onion, mustard, and mayonnaise on thick, soft wheat bread. Chucks of sweet potato with black beans and corn in a coconut water based soup was very tasty. Iced coffee was fresh and strong. Highly recommended!

Tupelo's Bakery did our wedding cakes which turned out amazing! Our cake tasting is still one of our favorite memories from wedding planning. Kim and her team create beautiful and delicious cakes. I am gluten free and that layer was hands down the best gluten free cake I have ever had. My husband's fsu baseball groom's cake was so fun and yummy too! Thank you, Kim and Tupelo's Bakery team!! We will make our way over for lunch soon!

My husband popped in just to pick up a raison oatmeal cookie while I purchased our monthly jar of Florida Wildflower homey. The cookie was scrumptious. Tasted very home baked. The honey is beyond words. Love that cute little place.

Wonderful small town atmosphere. Excellent sandwiches. Service was a tad slow but they were very busy and it was worth the wait. Definitely going back

OMG!!!! The quiche!!!!!! Y’all best stop by here! Even if you live here or are passing through….it says it’s one of the top 11 bakery’s in Florida….it’s near the top for me! The cinnamon rolls…..melt in your mouth. And they got Guava Scones! They will not disappoint!
If you can stop by for Lunch…..bring your appetite! The sandwiches are monsters and delicious! I over heard one lady talking to her friend saying “this is my favorite place to eat lunch here” & I can see why! Keep up the good work!

Love this place for lunch! I eat here a lot when I am in town, but today’s special a spinach wrap roast beef sandwich with dill slaw was the best sandwich I have had there! I hope they will make this a regular on their menu. Definitely a 5 star wrap!!!
