3-13-24 - I had the shrimp & grits with Gouda, capers and roasted red peppers. Oh my goodness. So rich and yummy!!!! Ate here at 5 pm on a Wednesday ... the reason for the emptiness, I'm sure. Lots of seafood, fried green tomatoes, etc on their menu. Waitress said they're known for their burgers.

I can’t wait to eat here again. The fried green tomatoes are the best I have had since New Orleans, the beer bread with honey butter was almost like dessert and the garlic mashed potatoes were creamy and yummy. Our server was a delight and we sat at the window and had a view of the lovely old courthouse.

Oh My Goodness!!! Talk about delicious food, super nice staff and amazing weather for outdoor eating. You can bring your pet, you just have to keep the dog under control and sit outside. Bacon Wrapped Shrimp was delicious! Venison sliders were amazing, Bryson burger with blue cheese crumbles was finger licking good. All the food was exquisite.

Absolutely worth a stop. Just ate here for the first time and was blown away. Had fried green tomatoes and beer bread as appetizers which were phenomenal. Tomatoes were some of the best I’ve ever had and were wonderfully presented. Had the “Rev” burger as my main dish which was topped with a fried green tomato and an over easy egg. Thing. Was. Delicious! Can’t recommend this joint enough. If I’m the Monticello area definitely stop and check them out! You won’t regret it!

We enjoyed eating outside in the warm breeze! I enjoyed a yummy salad with shrimp and a citrus vinaigrette dressing. We shall return!

Locally owned and locally sourced - the Rev is hard to beat! It’s worth the drive if you aren’t in Monticello. Cute rustic aesthetic with high quality food! My personal favorite is the Monti burger, which features local satsuma jelly(think tangerines or cuties), onion rings, and a variety of protein options. The fried chicken is gluten free, so if you’re gluten intolerant it’s a great chance to try some fried chicken! It has rosemary in it, so it’s not your typical breading. Whatever you order you should probably get the fries - you’ll thank me later!

The hubs and I tried this place on a whim. The food was delicious and our server, Josh, was wonderful. This place is quaint with seating both inside and out on the patio. The menu has a large selection with beer and wine choices to match. What an incredible find!

Wonderful! Our food was great, staff was very welcoming and our server, Hope, was very knowledgeable about the plant based/vegan options. So happy the Proof beer bread is vegan!! It was delicious! We got the black bean burger, fries, vegan chili, fried pickles and house salad with peach vinaigrette. (The mushroom stack is awesome too!) And everything was great!!
My only suggestion: to have a vegan bun for the black bean burger and the mushroom stack. :)

This is a great restaurant with really good, unique food. If you like something that I'd a little different and bougie for the area, this is it. The menu is filled with things that I want to try, so I will have to come back a lot to move around the menu. However, I wouldn't recommend sitting next to the window late in the afternoon. There are not shades, and the sun is blinding. Overall, I will definitely come back and 5/5 recommend this to everyone!

Driving by Monticello, found this cute little southern cafe. Had me some fried chicken and collard greens, we also ordered the REV up Venison Burger, and of course we had the fried green tomatoes!! Food was soo good!

Visited on Sept 4th. Our 1st time trying them and was perfectly amazed. Great service, great food and great atmosphere! We ordered crab cakes and fried green tomatoes for our appetizers. They were perfect in every way. Crab cakes were so very fresh and flavorful! The fried green tomatoes were perfectly fried not greasy nor the tomato crunchy like it was under cooked. The breading did not fall off when cutting, so they had to be fresh and hand battered vs frozen. My husband got Shrimp and Grits. I got the Grilled Red Fish. Both were very flavorful. He enjoyed the cheesy grit flavor and said it had "Just enough shrimp". I now have an attachment to their grilled fish and sautéed vegetables, flavorful with every bite! Definitely a favorite of ours and will be back repeatedly!

Shelby was an excellent server, and the “Rev Up” burger (I got mine with Bison) was one of the most delicious burgers I have ever tasted!
The fries were also truly fresh made and very tasty.

Had my first visit to Rev today. It will not be my last. I really enjoyed my lunch. I ordered the chili with Angus beef and a side Greek salad. The chili was exceptional. You can get it vegan or with choice of beef, bison or venison. I could eat it daily. The salad was a different version than I'm used to , with spring mix lettuce and lots of feta and chopped veggies and a creamy dressing. Although different, I really enjoyed it. Will reorder again sure. The service was excellent and staff was very welcoming, making time to visit with me. I will definitely make Rev a regular place to dine.

Loved the food this is my second time eating here and both times were great. I will definitely be eating here again. The steak and shrimp were cooked perfect. I loved the hand cut fries as well.

We are traveling and found this restaurant on our way through town. First off, the food was excellent. I had greens and grits with gouda and the fried green tomato off of hubs burger. The grits with gouda, yes please, so good and creamy. The gouda gives the grits a buttery taste but next level. I will be trying this at home. The greens were perfectly cooked with enough kick to give them a nice heat and the fried green tomato was the best I have ever had. You can get a lot of entrees with 4 different choices of meat including venison and buffalo. The atmosphere is fun. We sat outside on the covered porch and it was a beautiful day so a plus. The inside looks small and not so impressive. I would call it rustic. The outside is better and you get a view of a cool white building (government?) very southern with large pillars and lots of large oaks.

Ate at The Rev today for the first time. Great service and great food. We sat down at a spot near the kitchen. The waitresses were attentive and the chefs/cooks all worked well together to get everything out in a timely manner. We were 100 percent happy with our visit.

Absolutely awesome. Great service, great food. I had the Portobello Stack with side of smashed potatoes and dessert of Cranberry Pecan Bread Pudding. All magnificent. My friend had the crabcake sandwich and that looked awesome too.. Weather so nice we could dine on the great surround patio. Right in the center circle by the County Courthouse. Easy parking. Very A+++++. Everything on the menu sounded great. I usually take food photos but such awesome food it was all eaten before I even thought about pics.

Not what you'd expect in the area it is. Great food at a very fair price.

Our server, Hope, was great. The option for venison versions of the dishes was a new one for me. The venison sliders were excellent. Highly recommend.
