Did a fantastic job in chopping down a Henry octagonal barrel and threading it plus shortening the magazine tube. The rifle was brand new with walnut stock and case hardened receiver and they had to do a complete disassembly and reassembly and did that with no nicks or dings to the rifle. Also took the time to search multiple thread protectors to find one that matched the knurling of the existing magazine nut. Paid great attention to details. Great work.

Took a Browning A5 with stuck choke, 357 Mag revolver with cylinder release problem.

Made appointment, both guns unexpectedly fixed in less than 45 minutes. Wife and co-owner explained procedures and how to avoid a repeat of the issues.

Based on the number of guns in for more complicated repairs it is luck we have this company within 100 miles.

I took 2 Winchester Pump Shotguns to Ken and he had them repaired and working like they did when new. I was impressed with Ken immediately after showing him the model 42 410 that was made in 1939 and he explained the cause and the method of repair so quickly that I new I was looking at a knowledgeable Gunsmith I could trust, Price was more than fair and the turn around as well. Will be doing business there again.

Ken is a top notch gunsmith. I have had him repair a few of my Colt 1911 pistols. Excellent work! His prices were also reasonable. He and his wife are also Christians; something that my wife and I love about them!

Double H just did a forearm replacement and installed a pad for me on my 25+ year old over & under and I am well pleased. Excellent work, affordable price, and very nice folks. I'll be a repeat customer.

Most professional source ever experienced thru every 1 of numerous jobs done so well. Best advice & execution of recommended work. 4 hunting rifles print under moa at at 200 yards. 3 of 4 are old used field pieces, & 1 is over 50 yrs old - didn't matter. All work superb.

This is the only place that I will take my guns. You should really try the Cerakote. Ken does a fantastic job. Two of my 20 year old Sigs look brand new. Prices are very fair and reasonable. Great place!!

Ken has done a good bit of gun smithing for me. His work is excellent and his fees are reasonable. I have referred a number of my friends to him and all have been pleased with his work.

Ken Barfield (aka Thumper) is absolutely a great gunsmith. He has built 3 custom rifles for me, all sub MOA and with remarkable workmanship. Ken has also done several trigger jobs, glass bedded rifles, threaded shotgun barrels for chokes, and performed many miscellaneous repairs. Ken is an FFL and has done several transfers for me on guns I purchased through Gunbroker. He is an honest straight shooter with everything he does. Ken and his wife Wendy are great people in general and have taken great care of me and several of my friends. Highly recommended.

Often these days a man does not get the credit that he deserves for doing a very good job. I want to state the following about Mr. Ken Barfield of Double H Gunsmithing and his outstanding work.
I have several years of different types of shooting experience. N C Police Combat Pistol League, Governors Top Twenty for nine straight years in the 1980’s, and two L E Sniper Schools. One of those schools was taught by USMC Gunny Sergeant Carolos Hathcock. This was when I became interested in shooting long distance. I was always right handed but left eye dominant. I shoot handgun right hand and rifle left hand because of being left eye dominant. A few years ago I started losing the use of my left eye. I was told that it could not be helped or corrected. I had no choice but to learn to shoot rifle right handed. I have shot in a number F-Class Matches over the years so I decided to see if I could keep my rifle but change it from a left hand to right hand rifle and prepare it for a suppressor. The first thing a shooter does is go to another shooter. I contacted Mr. Ken Barfield with my question if this could possibly be done. All of Ken’s recommendations were spot on. So I purchased a Blue Printed Remington 700 right hand action. When the new right handed action arrived Ken inspected the action to make sure it met his standards. Ken removed my Lilja Barrel that had 426 rounds through it from my left handed action, threaded the muzzle; rechambered, installed it on the right hand action and installed a new right hand Jewell Trigger. He then took my McMillan M-40 left hand stock and made it into a right hand stock complete with camo matching the original McMillan factory colors. He then refinished the action and barrel and rebedded the action in the stock and test fired it.
I received my rifle back and I was very impressed with it. FANTASTIC WORK period. I can honestly say that Ken’s work is VERY OUTSTANDING. I received my suppressor in, remounted my scope and test fired my rifle. As they say, the proof is in the pudding.
Also, a very special Thank You to Ken’s wife Wendy for handling all of the paperwork and helping me.
