Gardner's Barbecue Fairview Road

The food was very good, fresh, and well seasoned. One of the best meals I've had from a restaurant lately.

I went out of town for two days this week and my friend that tagged along keep nagging me about a restaurant she loved in Rocky Mount, NC. I asked people, Google it for her and Walla! We found Gardner's Restaurant. The food was yummy, well seasoned and the staff was friendly. You better go there if you are on ur way to Raleigh or the surrounding cities, - you definitely won't be disappointed!!!

I think this region of eastern North Carolina doesn't get enough recognition about how we prepare our greens. It is the only place in America I've seen that prepares greens like this and it's always great to come home to taste. I also had the sweet potato jack and that was awesome.

We stopped in on our way back from OBX. Awesome! Great southern bbq that tastes like it was made with care. The staff we encountered were all very friendly and helpful. Every side item we got was out of this world... and all the main items were stellar as well! Highly recommended! Be sure to get some chicken and pork!

Absolutely amazing service! We were ordering for 8 people on Mother's Day. We started to order online but we were told it would be a one hour wait before we could pick up our food. While we were ordering $80 worth of food, we felt like it shouldn't take that long to get it so we decided to just drive up there & order (we were right around the corner). Best decision!

After placing our order w the sweet girl at the register, it only took 30 minutes ti get everything! Not only were the employees friendly & efficient, we saw the general manager back there working alongside her employees! I loved seeing this! I have worked with some managers in my years in food service that felt like they were about working on the line. It was a breath of fresh air to see this in their management team! She also spoke to us personally on our way out & made sure we didn't leave without our tea!

Wonderful BBQ sandwich. Great barbecue flavor and super juicy without much of a vinegar sauce, which can be hard to do. I love a good ENC vinegar based sauce but this sandwich didn't need it! Such a nice natural BBQ pork taste. Cole slaw is absolutely a winner. I'll be continuing my BBQ sandwich tour across the east but will definitely stop here again.

Great food. Staff extremely friendly. The coleslaw, potato salad, fried chicken and pork was a perfect example of NC. Glad we stopped by on our way back home to Washington state. Oh!!! The best sweet tea we've come across so far!!

The food is seasoned…not too salty. They have a variety of veggies and meats for all types of eaters. I throughly enjoy their baked chicken and collard greens. I can eat from there every single day.

This restaurant is a staple in the Rocky Mount area and nearby communities. If you've never been...YOU HAVE TO GO! I've eaten from here since I was a child and the restaurant has always been around and the food is delicious and consistent. Reasonable prices, great food, great staff. They have BQ, chicken, collards, potato salad, turkey BBQ, stew and lots of other sides and options. This is a must try.

GOOD FOOD! BUT, THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS AWESOME. THEY FORGOT TO PUT MY DELICIOUS TURKEY BBQ IN MY BAG. WENT BACK WHILE THEY WERE CLOSING TO GET MY TURKEY BBQ. THEY WERE SO APOLOGETIC AND EVEN THREW IN A GREAT TASTING PIECE OF SWEET POTATO JACK. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO EAT! I KNOW I'LL BE GOING BACK FOR SURE ❤❤❤❤

Do people not understand that this is NOT fast food but actual food you have to COOK?!? To the person who complained about the barbecue being pig or not, did you think that maybe you were eating TURKEY bbq?
Considering the fact that they offer that as well..To the ones who are coming for the staff calling them "Ghetto" and complaining about the service: A lot of customers come to Fairview after noticing the surroundings and the individuals working there with an " I'm better than you" type of attitude. They then proceed thinking that they can speak and treat the workers any way they'd like because all they'd have to do is call the manager, complain and get them fired..and as far as the service being slow in the drive thru..if you see that the drive thru is backed up...get your ass out of the car and go inside.

The food is AMAZING!!! The staff are wonderful, they treat you like family. I'm from Virginia Beach, Va and don't mind driving down to NC for Gardner's food.

I love this place I live in Baltimore Maryland family in Rocky Mount every time we Go down we stop there to eat was there this weekend had a great dinner and brought some back. BEST BARBECUE EVER....😍😍😍
