Hide away Grill by the Lake

From start to finish we had a wonderful experience. Lulu was nothing short of a wonderful host for us. We sat out back in the shade and enjoyed being surrounded by the trees. She had chalk for my toddler to color with and we even went down the deck stairs into the woods and down by a creek!

We started with the cheese fries - they had a delicious seasoning on them and dipped them in Lulu’s homemade ranch. My husband had a chicken fried steak and loved it and the mashed potatoes. I had the burger with candied bacon on it and it was perfection! The fried okra was yummy too. Our toddler had a grilled cheese and she enjoyed the cookie that came with her meal as well. We took home some ranger cookies which were also delicious!

Had a wonderful experience here and will definitely be back soon to try more items on the menu!

Found this place on our way back home to Dallas after hiking all weekend at Turner Falls and I'm so glad we decided to stop for lunch! Miss Lulu was such a fantastic server and just an all around beautiful soul, even if she was covered in ranch dressing and missing her glasses. 😂 She makes a mean Arnold Palmer and the burger and chicken fried steak were out of this world! If you're ever anywhere near this restaurant, you should make it a point to stop in. And don't forget to grab a bag of their delicious Ranger cookies before you head out! Thanks Miss Lulu, your restaurant was the highlight of our whole trip! ❤

Great little restaurant. Menu isn't large but everything from the catfish to the burgers and brownies was great. The owners are very nice and the decor will make sense if you get a chance to talk to them.

It's a "Got to go there " place. We enjoyed a great meal on the patio of great food. Left with a bag of Ranger cookies that I am now addicted to.

My family gathered here for our annual luncheon/business meeting. They were so accommodating and the food was delicious. I didn't deal with her personally but Miss Lulu was helpful and gave us what we needed. I had the catfish basket, which was a triumph in itself and came with the most divine hush puppies 😍 we also had the nacho app and it was above and beyond what I expected. 10/10 would return

Very small quaint lunch dinner place. It is not far at all from the Lake Murray Lodge/Cabins and the food is so good. We ate there several days while staying up at the cabins. It seriously was home cooking. I didn't have one complaint about the meals. Portions a great and so are the owners who are a delightful couple. I highly recommend their chicken fried steak meal! Loved it so much had it twice as so did my husband!! We also had their burgers. My husband had the Deluxe with extra patty and I the Hickory BBQ burger custom made to order. Both great portions and delicious! And just went you don't think you can put any more in you see those delightful delicious homemade desserts. Husband had the pecan pie with ice cream and I the chocolate cheesecake. It was beyond yummy. We also had the brownies with pecans and ice cream another day. Did I mention how good this place was? Seriously it is a must stop place!! Prices are mildly high but honestly it is so worth it. I don't mind paying for good food and good service. So rare to find! And find we did. And this was definitely good comfort food after a hard trip for the February 2021 snow ice storm that hit Texas that left us with no power or heat for days it was a welcome place. Nothing says your enjoying a little piece of home with home cooking!

After a weekend of camping and hiking this is the perfect way to recoup all those lost calories.

Kidding aside the food all tasted home made and was a great experience with the service. Coming from a more densely populated area you forget what it is like to eat at a family run business.

Absolutely awesome staff and amazing food! Lulu and Andrea were so pleasant and a great staff but I have to say that their HOMEMADE white chocolate cheese cake is off the hook good!!!!! By far the best cheese cake I’ve ever had…..for real stupid good and a must try

This place is awesome! The food the chef made for us was delicious! We will definitely be going back again! The view they had outside on their deck was so beautiful of the surrounding forest area.and so peaceful! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for some really good food, friendly staff and a peaceful outdoor environment,😊

Great place, excellent service. The catfish was nice and crispy, chicken on the Cesar Salad was great (no weird pieces), and hickory burger was awesome according to my daughter.

It's a lovely place. The outdoors patio is so beautiful. The catfish basket is the best I've ever had. I wish I can give more than 5 stars.

We had a great time at Hideaway Grill! A hidden gem only 3 miles from the lake! The outdoor patio seating area was delightful and well lit. The food was good and the service was excellent. The only thing missing was music, but we brought a Bluetooth speaker and ate, drank, and danced for hours. Totally awesome atmosphere. It is our new Sunday spot!!!!

Excellent! We came in with a large group for dinner. It was hard to believe there was only one server/host and one cook. They were very organized in their order taking and cooking. The food was delicious and and the service was fast.

My wife and I love Mrs. Lulu and her husband! The food, the atmosphere, the customer service, the location, the quality, and the prices are absolutely phenomenal! We will definitely be back! Mrs. Lulu please have a lot of ranger cookies ready!!!

Had a blast with Mrs. Lulu and her husband. The food was awesome and she made us feel like we were truly at home. We had carb cakes with handcut fries and the gumbo. Will definitely be back. Worth the drive from DFW 👍
