Came into Walmart to Jackson Hewitt to get my taxes done. Was told on the phone the cost starts at $99. I have a couple W2 and a couple 1099R forms so nothing crazy. I figured it would be the $99. The young girl doing my taxes clearly has no idea what she’s doing. Super sweet but only entered my info in and then called several times to ask questions and make sure she was doing it correctly. Then they want to charge $419 for that! Really?! Never in my wildest dreams did I expect that. She even said “oh it’s stupid expensive that’s why I don’t use them either.” My parents went to an actual CPA and had tons of documents and spent hours and they only paid $200. Lesson learned! I will never ever use Jackson Hewitt or Wing Financial Services again!
