Capland Center

I was extremely frustrated as a parent of two sons who could not communicate with me or anyone else. I looked for help in many places but everyone wanted to write my children off as disabled. Through many tears and prayer I was led to Mrs. Doris Hale. She answered when I called Capland Speech Center for the first time. That call was the answer to my prayers. She was professional but she calmed me within seconds of speaking with her. My children were assigned to Mrs Sullivan and Mrs. King. They are very different in their approach but they are exactly what my family needed. Mrs. King took my son & has been guiding him...it is amazing what she has done. He is now an intelligent boy who has no problem with telling me what is on his mind. And if he misses a session with Mrs. King, he reminds me that he has to see her. She always has a sunny disposition and her smile is not only genuine but infectious. Mrs. Sullivan, it makes me cry to think about her. My eldest son was shy beyond believe. He could only repeat things that were being said. He couldn't form words properly, he wasn't affectionate and his behavior was socially awkward. I was at a point where I was yelling at him because of my frustrations. She has taught me how to deal with my son. I feel that I am a better parent because of the things I have learned under her. My son made a complete turn around. And I can't get him to be quiet. She took a child that everyone wrote off and is helping him to become the child that everyone wants to play with. I know that this is only a speech therapy center but I believe that my family has gained so many beneficial gifts from the Capland team. I will forever be grateful.
