Double Sky Diner

Met a friend here for lunch on a Thursday afternoon at her suggestion. Walked in and a table was available immediately. Wait staff were friendly and attentive. Placed our order and food came out quickly. I had Walters BBQ Burger and I have to say that it was delicious! It was messy, but I just couldn't put it down it was so good! The burger came with fries, they were good but could have been hotter, they were only warm. My wife and our friend each had a cheese burger that they said was very good. I enjoyed our meal and I can recommend Double Sky Diner!

This was our first time to eat here. The food was absolutely delicious. James had the chicken fried steak with coleslaw and macaroni & cheese. I had the fried catfish with a baked potato. The food is very fresh and homemade.

Service was excellent 👌 Our waitress made sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere has a small town vibe. The Diner appears to have its regular customers as well as newcomers. We will definitely be coming back to eat here again. 😋

My goodness! I just had a tasty tag team of mouth morsels from DoubleSky Diner! Their pork chop plate packs a punch guaranteed to give your belt a days work. I had their brilliant broccoli and stellar sweet potato fries as sides. The whole deal went down easy with some delicious sweet tea.

This place is a little hidden gem.
The food was really good and the service was excellent. I will definitely be back, I have to try the chicken fried steak! I had the cheese burger, and the wife had the lemon pepper wings. Both had good flavor. If you're traveling Hwy 317 take a small detour and try this place. You won't regret it.

I had the catfish & it definitely makes the top 3 if not the best catfish I had. My wife bought their Valentines Day special which she enjoyed. The steak looked mouthwatering. My 4 year old had the chicken nuggets and were hand breaded.
All of their foods we ordered definitely had thought into them. The service was great as well and it's hard to find outstanding service from Waco to Temple. They set the standards for what service should be. Needless to say, we will be keeping this restaurant in mind for future visits.

I always look forward to my trips through Moody around meal time. The atmosphere and good home style cooking take me back to diners that I visited years ago.

Located just off of Hwy 317 a block this was gem of a find. The meatloaf reminds me of what I could get at my grandmothers house.

I looks like a creaky old former saloon, as it likely was; but they turn out some very satisfying dishes. All of the options have been ample and altogether pleasing. They are homey folk who will maintain the volume in your tea tumbler and check on you multiple times during the meal. We never conserve dessert capacity, but they offer some attractive confections wherewith to tempt their patrons.

My whole experience was awesome. I placed a to go order staff member on the phone was very inviting and friendly. Got to the diner I loved it, nice atmosphere, got greeted when I walked in and staff members very friendly and attentive. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with onion rings, wife got chicken fired chicken with a baked potato and Mac and cheese. The food was everything I expect and more, so delicious 👌🏽 will return when driving through this area.

Seriously I can’t say enough about this place. It was absolutely delicious. The chips were so fresh and warm, the fried pickles were the best I have ever had from anywhere and the crunch was perfect, the fried catfish was just the right amount of crispness and none of it had that greasy taste that most fried foods have. I will be back again. Next time I’m going to have to try a burger. Those buns… yeah they looked that good. You can’t beat the prices either. For the two of us it cost about $36 before tip. Y’all better tip.

Update: second time I order onion rings and half of them are overcooked and almost burnt. Otherwise shrimp and catfish were very good.
This is our second time having lunch and both times the food was great. Our server Canyon, is very friendly and attentive. She is a joy to be around when we go there.

We just moved to Moody & found this place, called & were delighted to hear they do take out. Amazing customer service & great food! Thank you for being so wonderful! Looking forward to stopping by for many years to come!!

I almost don't want the secret to get out but if you haven't been to Double Sky Diner then grab the family and run! Today was my third visit and it was amazing as the first two. Service is fast and friendly. The Chef/Owner takes pride in his craft and you can tell. Food is hot and fresh. The building has old charm but very clean. I wish I could give more stars! I would most definitely recommend this place to others.

We were in the mood for a diner with home style cooking! This place is amazing and delicious! We are definitely coming back again! Service was incredible! Manager on duty was extremely friendly and helped with making our selections.
Cheese stick appetizers were crispy, flavored and scrumptious!!!!
Catfish was out of this world delicious!!! Fried to perfection and so much flavor, you don’t need to dip it in anything!!!
Chicken fried steak was also fried to perfection, the gravy was made perfectly and so delicious - more than likely homemade because it definitely wasn’t canned gravy!!!!
I tried the broccoli casserole which was also very delicious! Cheesy and full of flavor.
The pecan pie was definitely homemade and also full of flavor!

This is a must try spot! You won’t be disappointed!!!!

My wife and I ate there and the food was delicious. My wife got the BEST chicken fried chicken. It was super juicy. I had the meatloaf and it was delightful. I definitely would recommend this place

Was very excited to try something different in our small towns bruceville eddy moody area. Fish was awesome okra was a little salty! Good queso for being and American restraunt was a little thick!! All and all we will be back to try different items!! So glad we found this small town gem!!

Everything I have eaten here has been great. It is a good old-fashioned diner.

Great place to eat with super friendly service! If you're visiting Mother Neff State Park or just passing through Moody, you have to eat here!

Welcoming atmosphere! Food was great, and the burgers reminded me of my old hometown's diner. Haven't had a delicious burger like that in a long time! Fish and shrimp were also excellent; good seasoning!

One of the best burgers I've had in a long time, and excellent crispy okra. Kind folks with great value for the price. Not sure when we'll be back through, but I'll be back. I highly recommend stopping here if you're passing through.
