New Taiwan Restaurant

A hole in the wall kind of place. We were on our way to SPI and kids were hungry. We stopped and ordered 3 dishes. The house noodles was really delicious! Shrimp and broccoli was yummy. Husband wasn’t sure about the general tsar’s chicken but it was not bad either. The older lady was very nice and helpful. The inside was a bit warm to dine in but plenty of fans to keep the air circulating.

Highly recommend overall. Good food and nice portion. Friendly and fast service.

We visit this restaurant twice a week and we have never been disappointed. The restaurant is run by the owners, a husband a wife pair. They are super friendly and the food is made fresh and comes out quickly. We have tried many of the menu items and they are delicious!

I got a egg roll and in my opinion it was so good,the orange chicken is amazing the chicken is freshly made and it’s crispy, and it has this actual orange taste,the rice was good,and I got potstickers and they were so good. The only thing I didn’t like was that I had to eat outside, but the food was really yummy

When I entered the restaurant, two friendly individuals greeted me, who I assumed were the owners. I planned to dine in, but they suggested I order to go because it was hot in the restaurant due to air conditioning issues. It was hot, so I decided to take their advice. My order was taken quickly, and the menu was briefly explained to me. I ordered the General Tao's chicken which came with either fried rice or steamed rice and an egg roll or crab rangoon. I opted for the fried rice and egg roll. The total was close to $10.00, which is a pretty good value for what you get. While I waited, one of the owners offered me complimentary cold water.

The General Tao's chicken was sweet and slightly spicy. I noticed that the quality of the chicken was better than some of the other Asian restaurants I have eaten at in the past. The chicken was tender instead of mushy. The sauce on the chicken did make it a little softer than I like, but that can be resolved by ordering the sauce on the side. The fried rice and egg roll were nothing special, but they were good.

Taiwan Family Restaurant, in my opinion, is the best Asian restaurant in Kingsville and deserves more attention. I rate the food an 8/10, but the service was a 10/10. As a result, I believe TFR deserves 5/5 stars.

Owner was very nice and funny. He mentioned he was going to close for good. I was disappointed because I finally found a good place that make good Taiwanese food in Kingsville. It was a pleasure to meet the owner. He said that the A&M students would call to place orders and not pick it up. Thus causing to lose money. It's ashamed that those kids would do that to these people. Hopefully he changes his mind as I enjoyed his cooking.

Y’all come give this place your money. Great portions. Quick meals if you’re in a hurry. Great little place. The chef and his wife deserve some more business. They are always so cheerful and welcoming. Give it a try!

The food is delicious. Freshly made. Food portions are for a big man's appetite. So price is more than reasonable for the amount you are served. Egg roll had flavor, not like it was frozen then thaw then fried. It was good. Sat outside, enjoying the weather while savoring each bite. 👍

My dinner was yummy. So addicted to egg drop soup. New Taiwan didn't let me down. Pleasant environment. Sam the cook has talent and is super nice. Niko the front man along with the girl server provided great service. I also enjoyed the taste of the unsweetened tea.

The food is exceptional! Consistent always delicious. Best chinese food in town...I have been enjoying Sam's cooking for years. Friendly staff and has generally a homely dining experience. You have to dine there.

Wow, we had the Almond Chicken it was delicious bursting with flavor. The Fried Rice was great as well. This place will not disappoint. We drove in from Corpus Christi because of the reviews, glad we came

We had the best soups ever on our last trip through Kingsville. The hot and sour was amazing and the egg-drop freshly made and delicious! Every plate is made to order here, and the owner, Mr. Sam visits with nearly every table to be sure that you are happy with your meal. We plan our travels home to include a stop at this oasis before our drove through the long, empty King Ranch.

Food was great. Service was also. Restaurant was warm but taste of food made it bearable.

I enjoyed there food and service very much. The cook has become a great friend of mine. The 2 previous owners ruined the reputation of this restaurant. I'm sure its been a struggle for the new owner to build it back up. I would definitely go back again.

Pretty yummy. Food is always good. They don't have waiters so you just go to the counter. The owners are great. The kids that work there have attitude but who cares the grub is guuud
