The best burgers ever every one was nice the hamburgers are really good size and the onion rings is really good gave me good portions definitely will come back again thank u I will recommend it to people thank u Hondo cafe. Keep up the good work and love the old skool music will come back again

We went on Christmas to concan texas, after going to garner state park to fulfill one of my father’s dream, we stopped by to check hondo cafe, in hondo, texas. Anyways, i wasn’t hungry at all just very tired and sleepy, so my whole family and relatives we stopped by to eat in hondo, cafe.

For sure this place is local and there is no doubt about it. Im not a person that insists on something i can’t get, that is not sold there or they may serve, but i do love “options” just like everybody else.

So i gave it a 5 star ⭐. Why?
The server was friendly, she kept up to date and she kept on checking up on everyone, she looked young like senior high school or maybe freshman in college, anyways i do understand she is not 100% experienced on the job restaurant because she does look young and like she is picking up experience. Which is a good thing, plus we are no one to judge since she is young and we all are humans so we all make mistakes every once here and there.

What i liked is that she was well organized with the order, she was friendly, she did explained what they have and she kept explaining the sides and everything else how it was adding up and the options she had. I do understand her frustration because she was alone serving the whole restaurant, the manager was just talking to his regulars, which i believe and laughing alot, like if he was having a good time which it makes the environment happy and a family type.

The best part is. I loved the burguer, this cheeseburger 🍔 i ordered was like extremely balanced. Well cooked, very juicy patty and the fried onion rings made it even better.

The rest of my family did ordered brunch type like combinations of different dishes but i don’t like to do that, i like to stick to one solid option or just truing to be original.

Anyways to me the cheeseburger 🍔, the environment, the manager, the cashier, the waitress maddie, and the family gathering we had, was very nice pretty and we felt very comfortable. No one was rude, everyone was friendly sweet and nice. And the waitress that took our orders was very nice, friendly, patient and asking to confirm our orders, that gave me satisfaction because it made me see that she was caring about our orders and of course how she organized herself to take an order of a big table of 12 people.

So kudos to maddie!

The food here is great. We almost drove in to IHOP from the motel and we were glad we didn't. The service was great and food to match will be eating there again.

Super friendly, very attentive hosts! Chicken fried steak for breakfast is a great call, but then so was the meat lover's omelet. So many amazing choices, and all of them made perfectly! Love this place, can't seem to make enough trips there to try everything. Highly recommend!

They have great old fashioned greasy burgers and fries, so good! Everything I've had here has been really good. Love their Greek salad and breakfast too, so hard though not to get the cheese burger every time.The owner is really nice and friendly. Id go more often but they close at 230pm all but 1 night a week so I rarely make it over in time but it's worth it wheni do!

We stopped here at 8pm on a Thursday evening to pick up some food to-go while passing through town. My 11 y/o son rated the place 7 out of 10 stars as we pulled up in the parking lot. His rating went up to 8 after we sat down and ordered. He returned from the restroom and rating up to 8.5. He ordered an cheeseburger and fries and I ordered chicken tacos. He ordered the burger with mustard and pickles only. When he bit into the burger and found that they put extra pickles and sesame seed bun, and that the patty was irregular shaped, meaning it was fresh made, his rating went up to 9+. The tacos were good too. Its clearly a family run place. Good food, great service. We will come again.

A family-owned restaurant, and they are always wonderful with their service! Their food is great and makes you feel at home! The atmosphere is always fun, as well! On a side note, they support their community entirely, especially anything that relates to education!

We had a very attentive and sweet server. She made us smile and kept our drinks full. We had a cheeseburger w/fries and a small carne guisada plate. I recommend both entrees. The fried were crispy on the outside moist and soft inside. The cheeseburger wasn't a round hockey puck, instead it looked and tasted like a hand shaped, never frozen one. Carne guisada was flavorful and the meat was very tender. Rice and beans were ok.

Food was really good. The best hand cut fries ever and a very clean place. Immediately after I used the restroom an employee was sanitizing it. Will definitely stop there again.

Pleasant staff and great food. This was my first visit and if I am ever in the area would like to eat there again.

The chicken fried steak was huge, tender and delicious. Great cream gravy and fries and toast. We would come back again if we was to go back this part of Texas. Great service and friendly people. 👍👍👍👍👍

Let’s start off with the service it was amazing every waitress was nice.All the food was home cooked all the ingredients were fresh and it was all around a great experience I would recommend it to everyone.

A wonderful place to stop in! Everything on the menu is fantastic and the coffee is easily the best I've had. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The whole place feels like home!

Great for family! Something for everyone on the menu. Breakfast served all day, American food and authentic Mexican food. Fast and friendly service. We will go back our next time through Hondo.

Went in a group of five and we all had an awesome breakfast there and the staff was so warm, friendly, and attentive!! Will definitely make it a point to stop in again whenever we're in town!!
