Beautiful park, all paved, easy walk, wheelchair friendly. Well worth the trip, about 15 miles off the 4-lane US Rt 19. Has one of the Almost Heaven wooden signs to pose with. On the back of the WV shaped sign, there's a place to put your smart phone and directions on how to use the timer photo feature on your phone to take pictures! Definitely recommend!

Really peaceful and quiet. Kids enjoyed themselves, take lots of pictures. Park ranger inside gift shop was very friendly, park was not busy during our visit.

Water was low, probably the lowest it's ever been but it was a beautiful day to check out some scenery. And bathrooms and gift shops are now open.

Take a detour through the heart of Appalachia, while you're out exploring and hiking around the New River Gorge National Park area. This is a great spot to take in some picturesque views and have a nice picnic with the family. I visited on November 4th and seemed to have missed the last of the fall colors by about 1 week. It's hard to imagine it can be even more gorgeous than the way I saw it. It reminded me of the typical fall scene you'd see on puzzle or picture in a magazine. Definitely a spot to revisit one day.

What an amazing Grist Mill. The State park is beautiful and hiking trails close by. The mill was closed because of off season. They do have tours when it is regular season time. Definitely a must see bring your camera.

Breathtaking views of a rustic mill set amongst brilliant colored trees and water running over rocks. Exceptionally beautiful spot within Babcock State Park in WV. Free and well worth a long drive to see it! On a rainy day hardly anyone was there even in peak season so we were delighted to have ample photo opportunities. You can picnic over the water and walk paved trails. A very special place! Park ranger very helpful by phone in planning our visit! Google maps GPS was excellent to this location. You can camp in log cabins. Highly recommend visiting!

Amazing!!!! The falls weren't roaring as it's fall and not the rainy season, but there was enough there to add to the beauty of this place. Spectacular site and the pictures we took don't even look real. They look like a painting. Be sure to make this a stop when traveling through the area.

Admission into Babcock State Park (where this mill is located) is FREE. Actually all state parks in WV are free!
I came to this mill twice during peak season (busy season). At 5pm the lighting wasn’t ideal for pictures and the parking lot was full, but the next day at 10 am the lighting was perfect and the parking lot was only half full. Lovely area!

Beautiful state park. Extremely picturesque place with plenty to see. Nice gift shop as well. Decent amount of parking, even on the weekend. You can see plenty in just an hour so make sure to stop even if short on time.

Second trip here because I love this grist mill. Have a pic over my mantel and wanted to see in person. Weather was a little iffy and surrounding views impacted by the smoke from Canada. However, I wanted to get my pics without a lot of tourists, so stayed in one of the cabins @ Babcock. It is such a pretty area and setting.

Wow, wow, wow!! This place is amazing and beautiful. This has been on my bucket list since I was a kid. I remember looking at calendar pictures and it seemed like this was always on them especially for the month of October. Think I missed the peak colors by a week. But overall this place will not disappoint you. Make this trip and don't wait. I would recommend October to see it in it's wonder.

Stopped here making a bit of a detour on our day and we were not disappointed. This old mill is a wonder to take in set on a beautiful small river with easy to access parking right next to the visitor center. You can even walk up to and all the way around the mill! Truly one of the highlights of Babcock State Park.

Nice State Park. Go to visitor center to park and see Mill and creek with rocks. Able to go in Mill, break/close at noon, but visitor center open with restrooms, snacks, souvenirs, and local artisan gifts.

It's a definite see if you want a cool place to go. We didn't go while they were open for the season but we. Still loved going. It's free to go and we heard from folks fishing was good. Definitely a place to experience when the Milk is operating and you can get in the water.

The powerful waterfalls with the mill in the background made for a gorgeous spot! The employee at the gristmill knew his stuff and wes nice to talk to. Great staff in the visitor center, too! We toured a dozen waterfalls and this was one of our favorites!

This place is a bit more crowded in the fall, as expected, but it's still beautiful. It's much less crowded on a weekday, and we probably should've come a bit earlier as the colors are a little past peak but beautiful nonetheless and still very much accessible. Plus there was a wedding photos and family photos happening all over.
