Paws & Claws Animal Clinic

Good ol' Billy, our 18 year old cat had been losing weight and we grew concerned. O had taken him to Paws & Claws 9 years earlier and they saved his life, so I chose them again. They ran tests and found the cause. Billy is doing good now and I hope he can now live past 20! Tanks Paws & Claws!

I want to thank Paws & Claws for their exceptional care they have given my friend's dog throughout the years and in her last days. ❤
Today, Little Sandy had to be put to sleep due to the ongoing health issues from aging. 😔
I have never witnessed such an authentic and genuinely devoted team given to a pet and their owner. They cried right along side Burgandy as she had to make the most agonizing decision. 😢 😭 They are an incredible team there. The office staff shared their hugs as well.
Big Shout out to Dr. Atkins and Dawn for making such a hard time more comfortable with loving arms and kind words.
This Animal Clinic should be given 5☆☆☆☆☆ because they are what animal care is all about!!!! 🐾

The vet and everyone in the office were super friendly, knowledgeable, and the pricing was VERY reasonable. Of course this is our first dog, lol, but they were wonderful! After we left there, Rosie finally got in the window After 2 days of not being herself at all and you can see the joy and relief on her face! Thank you again for being so great!

Dr Crystal Ruter is amazing! Love the staff and the pets are so loved! Couldn't ask for a better veterinarian office to take my pups to!

The best vet office hands down! Dr Dee & Dr Crystal are both awesome. They are both very compassionate and great at explaining any issues and treatments they are going to use. I highly recommend Paws & Claws Vet Clinic. Their office staff is awesome too!

Both doctors are exceptional. Very compassionate with great bedside manner and excellent veteranarins. They have been taking care of our animals for years. Thank you did such great care.

Th staff is very nice and does a great job! The vets are very personable and thorough, trying to do everything they can to make sure our pets felt comfortable.

I highly recommend them from anything to a basic check up to more complicated issues. They are reasonably priced and easy to work with!

Dr. Crystal is the one we see for the most part. She sees our dog Rollie as a member of our family. She never makes us feel rushed or stupid at the endless questions we ask. They always respond quickly with an answer or appointment when at all possible. Love this clinic. I highly recommend either Dr. Ruter or Dr. Atkins. You can tell they really care. Thanks!!❤

I love Paws & Claws! Dr. Dee and her staff are the most caring and compassionate professionals I have ever been taken care of by. They have cared for our pets for 20 years, and even through the hardest times, they were there for us. When we lost our beloved pet of 13 years, they helped us through it and even made a memorial contribution to the U of I Veterinarian School in her memory. Thank you for the great care you have given us over the years!

As always, Dr Atkins is compassionate, considers all aspects of our dogs physical, mental and home life. The healthcare has been exceptional for our 4 dogs and 1 kitty over the years. Her skills can't be matched, even saving my beloved Lucy by doing Bloat Surgery at the drop of a hat.

I loved this place from the first moment I walked in. They make you feel welcome and are willing to help in any way possible. Dr. Crystal is beyond sweet. Dr. Dee definitely has a great vast of knowledge. I had to bring my dog in once after hours for an emergency and Dr. Dee was ready to help. You do have to make appointments at least 2 weeks out so be prepared for that.

I absolutely LOVE my vets! Everyone at Paws & Claws is so very nice and helpful and they love my fur-babies, as their own! Dr. Dee and Dr. Crystal are so very knowledgeable and caring! Thanks for taking such good care of my babies!

I have a puppy and a 15-year-old dog with diabetes and other issues. Both of these dogs are treated so well at Paws and Claws! The people there are helpful and accommodating. I know my dogs are getting great care. Most importantly, I trust these people! Winnie, my baby, loves Dr. Atkins! Penelope, my old girl, knows that this is the woman who makes her feel better. She is on top of the best medical practices, but she does not push untested or fad treatments. Her holistic approach has kept my dogs healthy and happy. I recommend Paws and Claws 100%. They're the greatest.

I have taken my cat to Paws and Claws a couple of times, and it was a wonderful experience. It is clean and attractive, and the staff are helpful and polite. When I got my kitten fixed, they did a good job, kept her overnight (at no extra charge) to make sure she would be okay, and the whole thing was very reasonably priced. I will continue going to this vet as long as I am in Freeport.

We couldn't ask for anything more than what Dr. Dee and Dr. Crystal have done for our pets over the years. Our little zoo of dogs/cat/guinea pigs/rabbit/iguana have all received the best care possible from Dr. Dee, Dr. Crystal AND their wonderful staff, and they've consoled and cared for us as well. :)

Dr. Crystal takes excellent care of our dogs, Avery and Winston. She's been here for the best times with our dogs and sad times. Always professional and compassionate.

Took our Boy there to see Dr. Dee for a second opinion on his back. He is only 4 but has severe arthritis in his back. She also immediately notice on the X-ray my old vet sent over that he has an extremely large heart. Which we had not been told before. He has also had tummy troubles his whole life and she was able to do a test and fix that as well. We will DEFINITELY be staying with Paws and Claws. It is a 45 min drive but worth every minute to have a vet that is on top of everything we now know is troubling our boy.

We had to put our 13 year old lab mix down in January. Unfortunately, it was his time to go, late at night on a Tuesday. Dr. Crystal drove all the way to our house, at 11:00 pm, so she could assist him, to go peacefully in his own home. She grieved with us and then took him to be cremated. She was so wonderful and caring! I couldn't have imagined a better experience to say good-bye to our family member.

We take Bones (dog) to Paws and Claws it is a good clean clinic the front desk staff is very pleasant. The Doctors are good with animals and really do care about them. Their prices are not bad. Try them
