The trailhead parking was quiet and made for great spot to sleep to make an early start! This trail was brutal! Rain and fog made everything very challenging.

Amazing trail. Pretty easy going until last 1/2 mile. Pretty technical after that. Watch for the right turn on the dirt road and the trail head is to the right of the parking lot.

A bit of bumpy 3 mile ride on a dirt road, but not too bad.

The Alpine zone on this mountain is intense and rewarding. I highly recommend hiking this trail In Autumn

Great trail, not beaten down too badly. The first three miles are fairly flat with five small stream crossings. The last mile and a half ascends rapidly to the summit with about half a mile of above-treeline hiking before the summit. The long approach to the mountain is a good chance to warm up for the strenuous ascent, and aslo helped me to stretch my legs on the walk back to the trailhead. The views are great, and it's a very special place to be. I hiked on a Sunday in August and met about five other parties on my way.

Who rates a mountain poorly lol this is for info, not to scrutinize the actual earth under your feet

For a 4,000 footer, this one is fairly easy. The views are top notch though! It was a little hazy looking west/southwest, but you could see clear to Kingfield in the other direction and beyond. I will say I was bummed that Sugarloaf blocks what would be a nice view of the Bigelows, but oh well.

While I do agree that the dirt road in is quite rough, if you know what to look for, the trailhead isn't too hard to spot.

This was only the fourth hike I've ever done with another person (usually I hike solo) which was cool.

Limited parking, small trailhead sign that really doesn't jump out @ you. Trail starts at the T intersection. The trail itself was awesome.

Next time I will bring my truck so I don't have to worry about loosing my muffler on the 6 mile rough dirt road to get to the start. Be aware that the actual start of the hike begins prior to where the parking area is.

Very hard to find. And the dirt road is in rough condition.
