Smartly designed for easy browsing. Dozens of local products and crafts on sale, including wines & delicious vinegars. Helpful local owner.

Beautiful interior with options of all varieties and more than just books. Very helpful small staff who would communicate with you in kind fashion. I go here everytime I stop in Valentine and it always seems like they have something new in my interest area. Do recommend.

Shame on me for not reviewing Plains Trading Company sooner! It’s a wonderful bookstore with kind and helpful owners and staff. In addition to books, they also have a wide selection of great items like natural bath and body products, coffee and tea, local wine and children’s toys. I very much appreciate that they require masks and feel comfortable and safe shopping here during the pandemic as a result.

Love this bookstore!! I live in Lincoln but its always a highlight to come home and check out this store! Great book selection for adults and also children! Everyone is so friendly and I greatly appreciate and respect their mask policy.

This is my favorite independent bookstore in all of the world. They have a wonderful selection of Great Plains, Sandhills and Indian history, and a well curated selection of bestsellers. One of my favorite stops in Valentine when I come here.

Such a wonderful bookstore to find on our drive through! Fantastic selection of books on Nebraska and the West for both adults and children (and souvenirs). The owner was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful.

Amazing place!!! They have a full collection of Burts Bees products. Good book selection also! I was very impressed to find this gem in such a small town where I was already badly welcome at Aunt D store with ignorant people till I found this bookstore where the staff was soooo nice and welcoming.
If you are in a cycling or roadtrip, I would suggest to stop at this place!!! LOVE IT!

The best bookstore between Colorado Springs and Pierre. Always look forward to a stop in Valentine for a browse and a book or 3 to take home. Craig Johnson and CJ Box always in stock plus the absolute finest collection of local and regional history, and spot on recommendations for books that might interest you.

Great little book store, if they don't have the book you want, they will order it for you, if they can find it, Plus, they sell different kinds of coffee ( freshly ground BTW) and a Wonderful assortment of tea's stop in there, you're gonna love it too!! 💜💜💜💜💜

The Plains Trading Company has an amazing assortment of local books. I was extremely impressed by the selection, and recommend anyone traveling through the area to visit this amazing store.

This is one of the first places I go when visiting Valentine. Great books, and cozy vibe. They also have an impressive collection of books focused on the local area and history. It's everything a bookstore should be.
