Fairy long hike and I would rate it as difficult, although definitely worth it. 360° Views do not disappoint.

Great view of surrounding countryside. Sawyer River Road may or may not be gated; if not, it is a two-mile walk to the start of the trail to Mount Carrigain. (Signal Ridge Trail to summit is 5.3 miles in length.) As of May 14, 2023, there were numerous blowdowns along the trail and many stretches of snow and ice.

This is a moderate to difficult trail. Beginning really easy and gradually gaining elevation and difficulty as you navigate this well kept beautiful trail. My two boys were able to do it with no issues. The last .05 miles is really steep and dangerous for beginners, but if you take your time and remain focused you will get 360 degree views. The summit offers many places to sit and enjoy the amazing views with others or in seclusion. If you’re a hiker and are looking for a nice challenge, this 4000+ footer is an awesome trail leading up to an amazing summit. Good luck and keep on exploring our beautiful nature.

Awesome views from the lookout tower and from Signal Ridge. 5 mile hike with most of the altitude gain in the last half, somewhat strenuous but well worth the effort.

I brought a group of kids here from a youth service organization called The Junction, located in Portsmouth, NH, back in the mid-70's hoping to get back this summer! Awesome place- beautiful views.
