Update: it's been 2 years since my original review. Tonight had the ribeye special. It's was delicious. The drinks are still very good and the service is excellent.
Been here quite a few times for dinner. The staff and owners are very polite and friendly. Food is always excellent. The duck is my favorite. Drinks are good as well. I would recommend making a reservation because it is on the smaller side so it fills up quick.

As you enter the place, a magnificent setting, a
delightful marriage of a cozy dining room and a view of the wood burning oven. Sitting in any table, you have a wonderful view of the workshop-like kitchen where you can see the chefs working. The menu has a generous selection of many types of meat and fish. I would strongly recommend it to anyone.

Classic dishes always executed perfectly. Everything is cooked in their open kitchen on the hearth, the wood fired heat and the cast iron beneath each dish means the quality of the ingredients shine. They’re masters of their work, do pay them a visit in this casual, easygoing family run space. It’s rare to find this level of attention to detail anymore.

We’ve been coming to this glorious restaurant, the last seven years and Dominika and her chef husband are outstanding servers and chefs. The food is not to be believed we don’t have anything like this in NYC right now—— when you are in Millbrook reserve at the Millbrook Cafe!

I went there for dinner with my mom for the first time. The dinner was great. The owner very nice lady was there to talk to you and help you with your order. The waiter Peter, very nice young man. The dinner was was very good. My mom , also enjoyed her dinner as well and also liked her cup of coffee. I give the Millbrook Cafe 5 Stars. Bob from Pleasant Valley, NY

Wine list is spot on. Bottled beers.
Glorious, decadent desserts.........and probably the lightest cheesecake I've ever tasted.

We went to celebrate my cousins retirement. A small casual eatery with very good food. It is mostly prepared in a wood fired oven. If your looking for a relaxing dinner and not in a rush this is a great place. The French onion soup is very good and the creme brulee is exception. Friendly service. Entrees are normally sized. Reservations would be recommended. A+

Food is delicious. Menu was high end with Roasted Lamb, duck, several kinds of steak and seafood and all cooked in woodford oven. I had sesame ginger salad dressing. It was top of the line as was the scallops, shrimp and flounder that I had with roasted veggies.
Service was excellent. When can we go back to eat again?

Ordered takeout for an early Mother's day. I had the scallop appetizer. The best I've ever had. My husband had shrimp cocktail appetizer. He was very happy with the flavor. We both had the duck dinner. The horseradish sauce was a little over powering but the duck was cooked perfectly. We can not wait to actually dine in. 5 stars!!!

The food was absolutely fantastic! The staff was extremely friendly - however, we were kept waiting for a longgg while. They catered to a table, who had arrived long after we did, before me and my date, who had made reservations beforehand, and even after that we kept waiting. I feel like the total time spent waiting to just have our orders taken and get the check was about 50 minutes. The experience between the waiting was splendid otherwise

My wife and I regularly eat here. We have never been disappointed.

There are numerous appetizers to choose from however I usually order the scallops. They are large and delicious. The unique taste from their oven adds to the experience.

The entrees are plentiful and delicious with the specials always very tempting.

The staff/owners are always friendly and accommodating. I occasionally see the owners in town and they are the first to say hello and talk for a few minutes.

I always recommend the Millbrook Cafe to anyone looking for a comfortable, reasonably priced, and great food experience.

Your whole dinner will be cooked in a wood fired oven. You can tell this chef pours his creativity and wonderful craftsmanship into each dish. It is highly recommended to make a reservation. Plan to be here for ~1 hour, enjoy this meal with friends and loved ones, it is truly worth every moment.

Food is excellent! Seasoned to perfection! Steak melts in your mouth. Everything its just so fresh. Delicious to the max. I had steak and my husband had chicken, it was sooo good. Everything was good; potatoes, salad; even the water taste good lol seriously though.

The food is amazing and you can tell everything is fresh. The meal was well paced and allowed for a nice evening out. Never did it feel as though you were being rushed out the door.

Amazing service and cuisine! 👍 they were able to accommodate a family of six perfectly (reservation recommend). I ate their special of the evening; surf-n-turf consisting of filet mignon with lobster tail and a side of vegetables, and a French onion soup as the appetizer. Good ambiance too. Highly recommend!

Very nice place. Tremendous food. Menu is small, but they they offer many specials.

The food is delicious and always consistent. One of Millbrook's most enjoyable locations for lunch and dinner.

This has turned out to be our favorite restaurant in the Hudson Valley. We live in Fishkill and have eaten in some of "the best," restaurants in the valley. Also, being native New Yorkers, we eat at great, no some of the best restaurants in Manhattan. The Millbrook Cafe is a FIND. The food here rivals some of the "best " restaurants in the Hudson Valley... and MANHATTAN. We've been to some of the best steak houses in Manhattan. Nothing... compares to the wood fire steak that is prepared in this restaurant. Also, their French onion soup is the best! Not salty. It is better than a the soup that we had in a 'renowned' French restaurant that we visited this summer in Manhattan. Let me tell you, if The Millbrook Cafe was in New York City, you'd have to reserve days in advance! It's that good. Paul Messina.
