MaMa’s Pizza and Trattoria

Mama's was recommended to us by locals so we tried it for dinner. We ordered the sesame-crust Margherita pizza. The place is lacking in ambiance, it's counter service, they only take cash, and they don't offer fountain drinks (only cans or bottles). However, the music was delightful and the pizza was absolutely amazing. We loved the sauce and the sesame seeds added a nice toasted crunch. The pizza had big leaves of basil on it, roasted garlic, and fresh shaved parmasean but it could have used some more mozzarella, especially for the price. Overall, we had a nice dinner and will definitely come back for pizza again. Also, it's worth mentioning that they had a lovely outdoor seating area.

The margarita pizza with the sesame seed crust is awesome. We also got some gelato. Nice looking bar. No fountain drinks but that's okay. I was more than happy with my bottle of Diet Coke. No reason to pay for a ski area prices and lots of cafeteria food when you can walk over here super easy.

Right across from hunter. Cute place cozy fireplace the nicest people. Pizza was good not as good as a New York Neapolitan pizza but I am biased. Mama’s meatballs were amazing meatballs in sauce with some ricotta all popped in the oven. Highly recommend. Just remember they are cash only.

This is my go to restaurant whenever I come up to the area. The rigatoni bolognese is to die for, honestly, one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. Also, I've eaten a lot of pizza throughout the years, but nothing beats their margherita pie! As I told one of the waitresses, this may be my all time favorite pizza ever. The service is here is friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere is inviting, and the food is top notch and impeccable. I don't think my Nonna could have done it any better!

Best pizza in the state, outside the city! We spilt (two people) the Marghaeritta, Buffalo Chicken, and White w/ Prosciutto and Red Onion slices. So goooood. They have a sesame seed, thin crust that is just perfectly cooked. Hats off to the chef. Cute little place too, right across from Hunter Mountain. Highly recommend!!!

Popped by for a quick takeout! What a lovely place with delicious, freshly made pizzas and warm staff. We chose our pizza with a sesame crust and customized the veggies. Reasonable price, yummy and fast service.

they sell by the slice some days! good pizza! the sauce is better than average and they go an extra mile on the crust. it’s crunchy and covered in sesame seeds. yum

Hands down the best pizza 🍕 on the mountain Top if your in Hunter its a must try ! The Ladies and gentlemen behind the counter are always cheerful and a pleasant to chat with !

This place is must stop for great pizza, great chicken Parmesan sandwich and greatest soft serve ever! Very nice service, nice ambience, good prices. Cheese and pepperoni by slice are sold. We loved this place a lot and visited twice for lunch during our visit to caterskills.

I loved this place. Their customer service was stellar during all our interactions with the staff - we ordered over the counter and were served at the table. The Corleone pizza is excellent. The sesame crust is unique, in my opinion. If you like thin crusts, you might love this one. The bottom is crispy, the crust around tastes so fresh, and the sauce is well seasoned yet not overwhelming. I'm not a huge fan of American pizza, but I got to say I loved this one!

Came to Hunter for my buddy's wedding and stumbled upon this spot while searching for a quick grub. The bus ride here was brutal and we were hungry and these pizzas hit quadruple homeruns. Cheesy, greasy, and crispy. Definitely coming back before going to back to NYC.

We ate here for the first time and ordered two small pies to share. The Meat Lovers and The Corleone.
Being from Manhattan, and having tried A LOT of different pizza, we were blown away. Crispy, thin crust, incredible sauce.
The owners came over, introduced themselves, and couldn’t have be more hospitable. Warm atmosphere, family style place, with outstanding food. Excellent experience all around.

⭐ MAKE SURE to try the cannoli. Super fresh and creamy. In our opinion, gives Ferrara in Manhattan Little Italy, a run for their money.

Best pizza in the Catskills. Dave Portnoy 8.8! Sesame seed crust margarita is out of this world, real whole tomato’s and hand cut garlic in the sauce with real fresh basil. This is a dying breed of family run pizza parlor that cannot be reproduced

Best pizza around by far. The staff is super friendly and the new renovations have given the place a much more welcoming and upscale feel. Their specialty pies are top notch and having them available by the slice is a huge plus. I highly recommend mama’s if you are looking for a great thin crust pizza.

My family and I love this place. We’ve tried multiple dishes from here as well as different kinds of pizza and we have yet to be even close to be disappointed. The new renovations in the restaurant are beautiful and the staff is always welcoming and polite. FYI order the sesame seed crust on your pizza….it’s a game-changer.
