Vidalia Restaurant

We had a backyard wedding this October (2023) at our family's home in Lawrenceville, NJ. When we were searching for caterers we just knew we wanted something special, as food is truly a love language for us. We also knew we wanted a meticulously curated menu and a small, dedicated team to help us carry it out. Vidalia is a restaurant near and dear to our hearts as we've spent many summer nights walking to this adorable little spot, and making memories with friends and family over good food and wine. When we met with Sal to discuss the idea of him and his team catering our 100-person backyard wedding, he didn't hesitate for a moment. Sal was an integral member of our team and he not only worked with me over the course of a year to meticulously curate the most incredible menu for our day, he also hand-selected his most trustworthy and dedicated staff to execute this vision. Sal and his staff were professional, personable and attentive to every detail. The food was outstanding; So much so that my guests are still raving about it. Most of which even went as far as to say it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. I could not have asked for a better catering service than the Vidalia team and Sal. Contract with them for your next event, or just go enjoy a nice dinner at their special little spot, you will not be disappointed.

We had a great experience at Vidalia. Visited here for lunch with colleagues. It was amazing food and ambiance. Loved the bread and the dishes we ordered were phenomenal. I got the saltimboca abs it was yumm !

If you ask me other Italian restaurants should really be taking lessons from these folks. Everything from the atmosphere which is just so welcoming to their unbelievable dishes and for what you get very reasonable prices. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available which is very nice depending on the season. We love that this place is sort of off the beaten path on a side road because it ties into the whole theme of this tiny eatery that packs a big punch in the tummy. Great business and great contribution to the community. Highly recommend!

This restaurant is located in the beautiful and quaint downtown section of Lawrenceville New Jersey off of Main St near the prestigious Lawrenceville Preparatory School. We were here today for a Holiday 🎄 party. They have a nice completely covered outdoor dining area in addition to the indoor dining room. The food 🍝 was fresh and delicious and the service was great. I would definitely return and I recommend it.

We were looking for great Italian restaurants in our area (Pennington), and after doing a little bit of research I came across this place. Went for lunch today and I have to say the food lived up to what was written about in the reviews. We were greeted when we stepped in, the waiter clearly explained what they had for specials. He made it so clear that we didn't even bother to look at the menu. Both my wife and I ordered the soup they had for the special, and then I went for the pasta dish and my wife went for fish (see the picture). Looks like they are much more creative for dinner and we look forward to going back again sometime in the near future. Request to the owner: if you are reading this review please let me know the name of the fish you used for the dish today. We would like to buy and cook.

This charming restaurant in Princeton was a quaint experience. The inside of the restaurant is a bit smaller but the outside is beautiful! At every table there is a picture perfect background. There is even a little chair outside that is great to take a seat in and take pictures while you wait for your food to arrive. Besides the place being eye-catching, the food is good. I personally would have liked more flavor to my pasta dish but all of the other elements were there.
Also, if you are unfamiliar with the area like I am, they have a Bring Your Own Wine policy. So, if you would like a drink, you can bring some bottles to enjoy while you’re there.
If I could suggest a way to improve, it would be for the restaurant to figure out how to reduce the amount of flies in the area. The flies were constantly going at our plates.

4/29/2022 - We enjoyed another wonderful experience at Vidalia with some friends, who will likely becomes fans as we are.
10/2021 - After a covid induced hiatus, we returned to this wonderful eatery in Lawrenceville, NJ. We hosted my wife's sister and husband who were celebrating there 50th anniversary. This evening we asked to be seated outside, which I believe is available all year around. The meals were served hot, timely, and some were taken home for another yummy dinner. The wait staff are the always there the assist and helpful 😀

9/2019 - Visiting here on a Sunday night celebrating our anniversary. We shared the Vidalia loaf, which is more than enough for two people and it was very tasty. My wife enjoyed Veal Parmesan with pasta, while I enjoyed Mamma Josephine's home made meat lasagna, that was awesome!
Desert was a cannoli and cream brulee, both were yummy. Staff members were attentive, helpful and friendly. We will definitely return to this neighborhood restaurant very soon, I've already have it on my calendar. Parking was easy, as there is a lot behind the restaurant.

About a dozen of us went for dinner at Vidalia’s. (We made a reservation.) The accommodations suited us well. The service provided was exceptional. Our meals from start to finish were extraordinary. We will return. (Well, actually we did. I ordered an antipasto for Christmas Eve which was delizioso!)

Everything tasted great as usual. Had the pork and fish from the specials menu, which was amazing. The Vidalia Bread was a great start. The pistachio cake was tasty. Great Anniversary with my wife. Quick and attentive service. BYOB is always nice.

I have never had better italian food. It was beyond excellent. Service was perfect. With food that good, I wasn't paying much attention to the atmosphere - there is outdoor seating also.

Love this place, the owner goes out of his way to make sure you're happy. Wonderful atmosphere, divine appetizers & main entrees that are dream worthy! Perfect spot for a romantic meal either inside or outside or great fun for a night out with friends. Did I say the food is divine? And it's BYOB, so you can bring your favorite beverage to enjoy a fabulous meal!

Nice food in a cozy little place. Appetizers were great, entres portion were large, ordered 4 for 6 and Torta Della Nonna was awesome... and house bread was great... think about >40 a person..

From beginning to end I really enjoyed everything I ordered, had the fried calamari and the ahi tuna with octopus salad as appetizers. Both tasted fresh and well prepared with plenty of flavor. Also had the Vidalia Onion soup which was excellent with the sweet onions. Our entrées were the short ribs over risotto and the veal saltibocco with spinach. I love a restaurant where the food tastes homemade and reminds me of how my Italian parents cook. Everything was delicious and well made. The service was good and the food came out in a timely fashion on a Saturday night. Indoor and outdoor seating were filled up but our 6pm reservation was ready upon arrival. Finally the end of my meal was completed with maybe the best creme Brulee pie I ever had. Also the owner came over to greet us and noticed we forgot to bring wine to this BYOB establishment so he shared some red wine with us. We will certainly be back to this excellent restaurant.

Fancy and delicious Italian. I could live off the breadsticks. Loved my seafood pasta and the calamari was more tender than I have ever tasted. Will return!

Messed up my own order by ordering something I couldn't eat (I have celiac) also didn't mention that I have an eating restriction on the app (was driving). The dish was like $45 so I know it's expensive to have to remake. The owner had the kitchen remake my entree, for something that was my own fault, in a way I could eat it without batting an eye. Fantastic food, Fantastic service. Could not recommend enough!
