Excellent MD, very thorough & pleasant. All staff here have been very helpful, no waiting more than 10 minutes, which is very unusual. Thank you ☺

I realize she's mot use to dealing with a man in his late 30s with pretty bad rheumatoid arthritis and knodules on every finger but... She could spend more than 5 mins w me ever 3 months...i shouldn't say she's a bad doctor I think I frighten her lol

The first time, when Sara Khalil squeezed the only joint that I said was hurting badly as hard as she could and used a discounted "test" for fibromyalgia, then did a visual inspection of an area where I said I get a rash IN SUMMER in November and was surprised to not find it... I gave her a pass...everyone has bad days.

Then...
Didn't read my chart, didn't answer when I asked what was missing from it, ordered redundant tests that don't change, didn't follow up with a result that could be dangerous and requires a one month recheck on one that wasn't redundant.

Then...
Refused to answer questions on mychart, gave inconsistent advice, wanted to retitrate steroids just titrated earlier that year when my stated treatment goals were reducing them. Did no followup on lab tests indicative of Addison's disease, despite the fact that that should be ruled out before adjusting steroids.

Ignored fact that I was exhibiting the very symptoms I felt warranted a drug change and dismissed me as mentally ill for my previously diagnosed hyperactivity and worsening of HD on the steroids I wanted to reduce (because they worsened my HD. ) I'd come in and stated my goals three times: Hurt less, function more, avoid drugs doing damage. Wasn't asking for pain pills, period, I already have those. Still in pain, so that's no answer. Want an answer.

This caused me to start crying in frustration. She gestured at me dismissively and said "THIS is not normal" like I was the this. When I asked how she'd feel, not rising or yelling, sotto voce, she opened the door and claimed to not feel safe. She then stood in the doorway so I could not leave and said SHE felt unsafe, looking around outside. When no one reacted, inside or out (because no one had raised voices or moved) she repeated this, then eventually left the doorway and I GTFO'd.

I probably do need therapy NOW, I feel like she was trying to goad me into doing something I wouldn't do, because I didn't feel safe on steroids. Unlike having a bad experience, I feel like this was a dangerous one. Not a safe place for humans. I don't care how/if she retaliates. Display Name is my pen name, appt was 1pm, Dec 14th.

BTW, rest of staff was awesome, no probs. I was having a BP spike (which she also didn't follow up on!) and felt informed and helped.

I had been going to this office for almost 4 years up until 3 weeks ago. I was having a problem with the commute and the quality of my care not only from the doctor but the staff too. I wanted to move to a closer office that wasnt 40mins away there and back and a woman named Katharine that works that was very rude and had laughed at me bc i asked for a referral to a different office. She thought i was joking and wouldnt take me seriously at all. This woman almost had me in tears til my amazing boyfriend stepped in to back me up. She hung up on him for standing up for me for laughing at me and belittling me. We had to call back to talk to the manager at the office to finally get the process of moving to the new location. Im not sure who that woman was but she was amazing and had apologized for Katherine's behavior but thatsnot stopping me from going skmewhere closer. We would drive 40 mins both ways sit in the waiting room for sometines almost 30 mins to talk to the docotr for 5 mins and then get poked by needles sometines twice bc they can nvere get my blood the first time. I understand that i may have small viens but when your dealing with someone that has a gear od them you should do your best to make them comfortable in the process which they didnt. My opinion i suggest going to Ithaca or anywhere else but there.

Dr. spent about 5 minutes with me touched my elbow, ordered labs and sent me on my way! After an hour drive and months of pain, that was frustrating. I had such hope that someone would help me! I cried the whole hour back home! The front desk staff is ok
except for Kathleen who absolutely should NOT be in this role! I still do not have answers and have to find another Dr. Very disappointed to say the least!

I have lupus and I told Dr. U that i wanted to grt pregnant that year. She told me that she would see me in nine months and we made an appt for then. I was young and thought "ok i guess i have nothing to worry about" i was wrong. My doctors told me that they couldnt take me and that i wpuld have to go to syracuse bc i was high risk. I was so confused and they told me to talk with ny lupus doctor about it. I went back to doctor U and told her what they said and then she explained the reasons why i would be high risk. I cried when i got home bc she never even mentioned any of that before when i had asked and didnt even plan on tracking my lupus at all during those 9 months! Sadly i lost my baby early on. A few years later i had moved back to NY and gave Dr. U another chance. I got pregnant(after i understood the risks), went to the doctors in syracuse, and saw a doctor U. I didnt not want to be on any meds that i didnt need during the pregnancy. She said that she didnt believe i needed a medication and i found out from my other doctor that i needed to take it to lower the risk of this 1 type of complication. When i confronted her about this she said she didnt know. She said she had only about 4 women who had gotten pregnant and that the ones who did continue their pregnancy either just got off all of their meds or kept taking them with no changes. Its like i wasnt being looked at as myself but as anyone with lupus. Like we are all the same. I waited 3 months to see a doctor in ithaca and after my first visit i can say i will never go back to her. I know now that if i ever get pregnant again my new doctor will be right there watching my lupus and not saying good luck see you next year.

Horrible Dr. Mother in law was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis from Roswell Cancer center and referred to this doctor. She for months stated she didn't have sarcoidosis. After months she then states she doesnt know much about Sarcoidosis and need to get a referral elsewhere. Asked for a referral to U of R and her notes on the referral were family was not happy with treatment. This is not the case she clearly said she doesnt know much about sarcoidosis and told us to get another doctor with more knowledge on the disease state. Oh by the U of R denied the referral because of her notation.
