Parking Cathedral Rock Firetower

Trail is professionally built. Nice to walk. Nothing steep. Paul at the ranger school is easy

Nice quick hike, well marked trail and fairly easy. My 5year old, experienced hiker, was able to complete this hike with minimal assistance. We enjoyed the view from the fire tower and signed the visitor log at the top.

Easy hike until the last 10th? climb to the top. Rocky, rooty, challenging but worth it to reach and climb the fire tower.

Tough to find the trail head and the parking can be hard too because of the school. No cell service so you can't check if you're in the right place. Trail is nice and the view from the tower is incredible.

Trail head is towards of the front area labeled "parking" off to the side, down a path with a gate.

The hike to the tower is a bit challenging near the end but the view is worth every step!

Our visit today was peak foliage and the views are truly breath taking. While most sources list this as easy, don't be fooled into thinking it's no challenge!

Cathedral Rock is in Wanakena and is on the Forest Ranger School campus. The parking lot is the same the students use and is plowed with plenty of parking.

Great walk especially if you have younger children.

Parking lot not well marked. Hard to find Trail head. Trail was ok. Fire tower open but some boards on the steps and tower floor need replacing!! Pretty weak!
