The service by our waiter was outstanding!!

When you go to New Paltz, you can expect local eateries to have varied menus, deep beer lists, and quirky offerings. Schatzi's exemplifies all three. There is something for everyone on the menu and while I only ordered one meal I'm quite certain it represents a commitment to a tasty flavorful menu.

I had the veggie Reuben. There's no way in hell I could have expected slow cooked beets to taste so absolutely incredibly delicious. The french fries were French fries.

What will stand out as well is the great service. I asked for a grilled chicken cutlet for my dog Clara. They took the time to grill it from scratch to avoid any seasonings for my dog... I personally didn't even think to ask.

I had a double dry to drink and it did not disappoint.

I highly recommend this place if you're in the area

Great food. Amazing atmosphere. Indoor or outdoor dinning in the heart of Newpaltz.

Wait staff is super friendly and attentive.

I had the Bier Cheese Soup as an appetizer. Super cheesy. You know its absolutely delicious when you put the spoon down to drink right from the bowl.

For my main, I had the cheddar bratwurst double with German potato salad. Absolutely amazing, the bacon crumbles and beer cheese was absolutely delicious slathered over the cheddar brat and then to have it atop a pretzel bun really brought it to the next level. Like a classy German hotdog.

There's alot more on the menu than German food too! So definitly check out Schatzi's for some great food, and solid vibes.

This place is off the hook. Service, food, and drinks all 5 star. New addition to the wine list is amazing!! I have been here at least 500 times and every time I come I find one more thing that I love about the place. Just go there. That is all.

They have an amazing patio perfect for those that want to dine alfresco.

Covid update this place is so clean, the whole staff makes you feel safe and comfortable. Def worth going to even in this new world we live in.

Again just left this place and it just keeps getting better every time I go there.

Schnitzel was good. Loved the beer steins but would have loved them more if they were stored in the freezer.

Fun place. They have outdoor seating as well as indoor. They are very accommodating with the menu. Please be patient as they are short staffed (like many other places in New York and around the country) - but the staff are very sweet and they were great with the kids requests. The food is good - not so many options if you're vegan tho

Loved this place. The food was like a hug from the inside. The portion for the schnitzel was big enough for two people. So many great beers. The staff were super friendly. The chicken and waffle sandwich was great, too. Thought about coming back the same day for dinner after we had done things in the afternoon.

Great pub we make a habit of going to when we're upstate - Schatz is my mom's maiden name but also the food is great. Good drink selection too, large outdoor and indoor sections. They do things with saurbraten that blow my grandma's german-american head off!

Incredible place!! I came in with my family looking for a great German Sausage, and this place had it and more. They had amazing beers on tap, catered to every need on the menu from the Sausages to French Onion Soup to many options for our Vegan friend. Everything was amazing and the service was great. I would drive an hour just to go there again EASILY!

Great beer, great food. Get the pretzel poutine - you won't regret it. Actually if you just get an entire meal of pretzel it's probably the best choice to go with your beer. The signature burger is good, but the layer of fried potato might have been a little bit much. The schnitzel was really good though.

The french fries are not good though. Too dry and the portion is too little.
They don’t pour enough beer in a glass. All our drinks cane in short of full pour to the edges. I was annoyed.

We ate outside with our friends and their dog. We had a great time. Flavor of the food was incredible and unique and delicious cocktails. Highly recommend the shareables with a group.

We had the fried chicken sandwich, pork schnitzel, pierogies, chocolate babka and of course beer. Everything was delicious!!

Found this place for dinner. Active and busy. Enjoyed a German beer and Spaetzle Mac and Cheese. Delicious. Server was newish, not a problem. Bartender friendly, bathroom clean and stocked. Next time, with warmer weather, should sit outside. No parking. Menu is phone scan which is annoying to me.

We loved it here! Pretzel poutine, the shareable sausage platter, and drinks were great. Our waitress was lovely and the atmosphere was too.

Great spot for a late dinner! We ate outside and happy to see they're dog friendly. Service was friendly and solid. We had the special Cowboy Burger and the Cobb salad. Food was great! Very reasonably priced, too. Will be back.

Great food! The pork belly tacos were amazing!! Great drink selection! Overall it was a cute spot and we loved that our fur baby was welcome!!

Food was great, service attentive. Came during peak dinner rush and food took ~20 minutes
