Had the recent pleasure to deal with them purchasing on line a special offer about a kayak. Out of all the on line shops I got in touch with from the really south Florida to Maine they really committed to help me in the purchase and worked hard to finalize it. Starting from information and dedication to find a safe and fast delivery method they ended up safely and quickly delivering from Rhode Island to Maryland the boat I was looking for and I sought all over the east coast dealers.

Picked up my castine 145 from. Great service to make sure I had everything I needed. Hung around the shop just talking about trip with them and other customers. Great environment and great selection of products.

Last summer, we stopped at the Kayak Center while visiting family in RI and were so impressed, we decided to drive back (from PA) last week to shop again. The experience was phenomenal! I had communicated with the staff prior to our visit to narrow down boards to demo. I tried 2 which were both great and selected one. We bought accessories and the staff helped us load it on our car. They were friendly, knowledgeable and very easy to work with. I highly recommend The Kayak Center and looking forward to returning soon!

This is a review of The Kayak Centre's RENTAL service.
Our recent experience was delightful.
[We rented Hobie Mirage Eclipse Pedalboards -- that's a stand up paddleboard driven by a pedal mechanism, rather than an oar. Steering is via a rudder, controlled by grips on the handlebars. The motion is similar to an elliptical trainer or StairMaster. We found them to be easy to mount, stable, responsive, maneuverable, and -- compared to a traditional SUP -- fast ! ]
The dockside personnel were friendly, patient, and informative, giving us the quick lesson needed to use the Hobies, and pointing out things to see in Wickford Harbor.
We spent two pleasant hours on the water. A nice workout. Would rent from The Kayak Centre again.

We're from New Hampshire and came down for their demo day on the water. The sales people and manufacturers reps were super helpful and friendly. Since we came from a distance and called ahead, they went out of their way to make sure they had the boats we thought we wanted in the store in the right color so we could get everything in one trip. (We ended up buying different ones after trying them out.) As we were buying two kayaks and a trailer, they were good enough to assemble the trailer for us at no cost.

This is the best kayak store in NE! Great selection of boats and accessories. The staff is very knowledgeable about the products they carry. Customer service is the best!

Excellent and very good experience. Friendly staff and they were ready for us when we arrived and returned to the launch.

Great info on the web site. Easy booking, easy signing of waivers. Showed up on time, kayaks were ready to go. Fairly easy paddle to Cornelius Island and back with 2 adults and 13/10yr old kids (not included in rental). Will rent again next time we're back!

These are genuinely nice folks and do a great job with what is obviously their passion, and it shows with the great customer service and, most importantly, they service what they sell

This is great kayak/watersports shop. The staff were pleasant, patient and a pleasure to work with. These shops are disappearing in New England, it's great this place is still serving the paddling market.

The customer service at The Kayak Centre is amazing! Kind, professional, down to earth, accommodating, and amazing are a few of the ways I can describe the staff. The selection is vast and the staff goes out of their way to help you find what would suit your needs and experience. I can't say enough wonderful praise for this local business!

Everyone at the Kayak Centre was really helpful. I purchased an Old Town Kayak and had it shipped to my door for about the same price as tax in New York. They also reminded me that I could get 10% off accessories, even though I wasn’t aware of that deal (I ended up calling back to get a kid’s paddle and an extra life jacket). Great service, great products…don’t hesitate to buy a boat from this wonderful establishment!

Great Service...Ordered 2 sit on top Hurricane kayaks on Saturday, delivered Monday. We recently moved to a lake and our 20+ year old sea kayaks were becoming challenging getting in and out with aging knees and body. The Hurricanes are perfect and store Manager Matt made the ordering and delivery easy. Would highly recommend

Great local kayaking experience. The rental process was super easy. The guys helping us in and out of the kayaks were very friendly and helpful. It was nice and relaxing to get out and tool around without feeling rushed or anything. And since we are inexperienced kayakers, it was cool to go out on smooth water.

Will definitely do this again.

Shout out to Matt! I'm a first time kayak owner and today Matt helped me learn how to put on my roof rack, wheel up the kayak and strap it down. At 60 years old, this brand new hobby is in part to help me regain some strength I've lost so while I'm super excited, I was a little nervous. Matt was so patient and took his time with me. I loaded the kayak, drove to the beach, got it and myself in the water and had a great time! Thank you Matt. Also to the sweet young women who rang me up, thank you for your help. So grateful to all for making my first time kayak a wonderful experience!

Quick story. I broke a foot brace on my kayak. The booklet that came with the kayak said all parts and/or service had to go through a dealer. I had purchased my kayak with Kayak Centre a few years ago. I called, and they gave me detailed instructions on how to help them, help me via email.

Sadly the response took several weeks, of which they were waiting on the manufacturer. After reaching out a couple times, they came back and said they found the part I needed in their possession and offered it to me at no charge! Good folks, and I feel the pain all over the place with people not responding to seemingly simple requests.

Gotta get going! Kayaking this weekend. Thanks for taking care of business Kayak Centre!!

Had a great experience at the Kayak Center. My partner and I decided to get into kayaking this year, we’ve both been several times in the past, but never owned our own.

Rachel and Matt were very knowledgeable and went out of their way to make sure we felt comfortable and answered ALL of our questions. They made sure we had everything we needed, without making it feel like they were just trying to make a sale.

My partner was interested in a kayak that was at the warehouse and Matt went out of his way to pick it up so we could check it out. We got there about 30 min before close (we both work and had a 40-50 min drive to get there) they stayed to walk us through our purchase about 40 minutes after close and didn’t rush us out at 5:00 pm.

Both of us left the Kayak Center incredibly happy with our purchase and look forward to seeing them in 1-2 weeks when we can finally bring our kayaks home!

Had a blast today kayaking with my daughter and 2 granddaughters, ages 5 and 8. We took 2 double kayaks for 2 hours. Wickford Harbor was quiet mid-week this early in the season. The kids also got paddles and they loved helping with the paddling! We talked about doing it again and the 5yo said "Yes, tomorrow!" Highly recommend.
