Great place for the wilderness. Old Town stuff not everyone's cup of tea, but a step back into the mid 1800s kinda vibe like that. Great food, all you need before or after an awesome trip. Shuttle service is excellent. Friendly people. Happy Rafting and stay safe ❤ verizon .us. cellular I know gets service sometimes maybe. The wild wild west .

The glamping facilities are amazing and beautiful. The beds were very comfortable and the surprise of having a shower hut available was great. Their website leaves a lot to be desired, but don’t overlook this place. It was super convenient on our road trip to the Painted Hills to stay here and not have to bring all our camping supplies. Next time, I’ll plan ahead and book an extra night to take advantage of their river offerings.

This is the type of Cafe you hope to find on a road trip. Great food and the friendliest people! The halibut melted in my mouth. Dinner was so good we came back for breakfast before heading out. The breakfast burrito was massive and the french toast was filled with apple pie and cherry filling. We'd go back this way again just to stop and eat here again.

Stayed here overnight in between rafting the North Fork and the John Day. The lodge was lovely. Kelly and Roger were very welcoming and the room was cozy and comfortable. The kitchen and central gathering room were warm and inviting. We enjoyed dinner next door at the cafe. Get the tots!!

Our September weekend at Service Creek was a good weekend get away. Our stay was in the Sun Flower Room in the Lodge. We enjoy the owners and employees as well as their hospitality. They went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The food was good. The room and bathrooms were very clean. It's good to see a family run business in the MIDDLE OF NOWHEREVILLE. Randy, Linda and Kelly, thank you guys for putting so much effort into Service Creek. On our ventures to and from, we make this one of our stopping places for a break, rest room, snack or a meal.

Randy and family are some of the best folk you can find!
The store is great and the food is awesome. Randy's banter always puts a smile on my face and more often than not if we are riding the MC in the area we have to stop in to say hi and grab lunch. They also have a great shuttle service for rafting the John Day oh and on site accommodations!
Stop in and say hi, you will be glad you did!

I was passing through on a bicycle camping trip and had reserved a deluxe tent. It was sooo hot when I arrived that I really needed some air conditioning. The team easily and happily let me have an inside room with A/C. It was a lifesaver. They also provided cold beer and snacks and a house-smoked tri-tip French dip sandwich that was out of this world. Because I was leaving early the next day they were willing to make me a breakfast sandwich the night before. It’s a lovely rustic spot for sure and the hosts are terrific, hard working folks who will go out of their way to help you and make you feel at home. They even got up early and gave me a lift down the road to help me endure the heat. Its like joining the family during your stay (if you want...you can have space if you want it too). Will definitely try to bring my bicycling crew through in the future. Great nearby fishing and rafting. The place has all the gear you’ll need and they can tell you which lures are working. Thank you Service Creek Stage Stop!

This place is a true treasure. The people are friendly and the food is absolutely amazing. We found this place completely by mistake and could not be happier about being a bit lost. We have since driven back for lunch or dinner twice (4 hour drive). If you are travelling through the painted hills area and are within 40 miles, this is definitely worth the side trip.

Me and my motorcycle riding buddy stopped here by happenstance looking for a cold pop. We were met by the owner Randy and his partner John the Mayor. Randy suggested a tuna melt which was delicious. We had a great conversation with both Randy and John. Randy, who owns a Harley, was very informative about all the great riding roads throughout central Oregon. A couple of great personable guys who love to meet and treat there guests with first class service. Highly recommended if you ride through this area. I would love to come back.

My sister & I just stayed 2 nights at the lodge. It was everything we expected and more. A rustic, lovely, hidden gem!
It is still slow season so we had the place to ourselves. The onsite caretaker was there to greet us, gave us a quick tour, gave us a few room options-we chose the "Horse Room:. The house is VERY well stocked, clean, and had super cute decor. the gas fireplace was awesome. Cable TV! What?! Was not expecting that! However (obviously) we spent the majority of the time on the river and out exploring.
The owners have really made some nice upgrades to the property. I loved exploring and checking out the new on-site campground area.
The restaurant was not yet open but they were over the top accommodating, asking us throughout our stay if we would like to order any food. I would definitely recommend adding this to your adventure book.
To all the "nay sayers" This is not the Ritz and if that is what you are into then stay in the big city...
Happy Travels!

Stopped by during a motorcycle trip. Super friendly staff, great service, excellent food, fully-stocked store. This is definitely one of my go-to places when I'm riding or driving near the John Day River! Thank you for the road hospitality!

I’ve been coming to service creek since I was a child. It’s a hidden jem I enjoy taking my friends to as most of them aren’t acquainted with this area. The food has always been amazing as well as the customer service.

I really wanted to review this place after I had brought my son, though. The reason I give this place 5 stars is because of the amazing folk that work there. My son, who is 6, had a meltdown in the restaurant and instead of getting weird stares and the staff hiding from us, they actually sat down and helped us talk it out with our boy. This to me is way more than anyone could ask or expect, our boy left that day with a full belly because of their staff.

You guys are awesome and I look forward to stopping bye again soon. :)

Perfect for the getaway we needed. Roger was the most joyous and epic host and the beds were super comfy. No internet or phone service but the surrounding nature made up for it.

Just stopped by today after fishing the John day . The food was incredible and the staff was so friendly and funny! I was able to get whatever I needed in the little store as well. Highly recommend this place. I may even drive all the way from Prineville to eat dinner here in the future. Thank you!

Friendly staff, a population of 4 people. It's the middle of nowhere, but the bathrooms are kept clean. I ordered a burger, they were very generous with pickles and I didn't have to ask!

I’m from Minnesota, didn’t plan on stopping here, but so glad I did, the service was amazing, the people were extremely friendly and the burger I had was hands down the best burger I’ve ever had! And the store itself was quaint and a slice of Americana

Booked a four night stay as a base camp for some cycling and car touring of the area. Totally exceeded our expectations! The hospitality was unbeatable. Roger the lodge host went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. If you want to unplug (no cell service- no WiFi) this is the place for you. Reasonably priced hearty meals at the on-site restaurant- the staff was super friendly and Kept us smiling! Highly recommended.

Nice rustic location in the middle of no man's land. They offer food, snacks, raft and canoe rentals. The lodge is rustic and nicely furnished. The staff are very friendly and accommodating.
