Bear Bottom Inn

Dropped in to try the pizza out. It did not disappoint. Place was busy but it's also a small place. We were able to get an empty table and didn't wait to long for a menu. Reasonable time between ordering and getting our pizza. Waitress was attentive and friendly. Pizza was delicious. We also got an appetizer and 2 drinks. Spent $30 for 2 people and had leftovers. Was well worth the price!

To me, this place represents the essence of Mackay and warmth of the people who live in the valley.

Family friendly.

Food is awesome, recommend the Slough pizza.

Staff are extremely friendly and attentive.

Bathrooms are clean.

Edit: I've only cried twice in my life. The first was when the Grandmother that raised me died unexpectedly. The other was when I left my to-go box of pizza on the table at Bear Bottom.

The sweetest little gal served us! We had to cancel room reservations last minute, but decided to have a bite to eat. The waitress gave us excellent service and was more than happy to help us out with the reservation. The food was excellent, kudos to the cook. We will definitely be back again when we pass through!

We stayed in the inn part of this resturant/inn combo, and it was nice. It was a good price for a cozy room that provided just what we needed. The rooms smelled clean and everything was tidy. They strive to be environmentally friendly as well, glass dishes and silverware so it can all be reused, it's good to see. The shower head is a little short if you're above 5' 9", which was fine for me but my 6" husband found his noodle bonked once or twice. This wasn't really a huge problem for us though, just a tidbit. We really enjoyed our stay, and how close within walking distance it is to resturants and nearby to the self tour mining tour. Very friendly owners and staff, and good place to rest your head.

This place rocks! Deep IPA selection. Burgers and pizza over the top. Server Kennedy is the strongest suit here!!

Best food in Mackay! Offers an intimate dining experience that feels more like eating at home than dining out. Usually have unique and delicious specials and the pizzas are out of this world.

This is a great little restaurant in Mackay. We had fresh chips and homemade salsa for an appetizer, then two types of pizza. It was delicious. I'll be back!

These folks came through for my wife and I late one night last summer. Super comfortable and clean place to stay. Atmosphere was great. We will be back!

It's tiny, but then Mackay is a tiny town! It's rustic and charming with pleasant indoor or outdoor dining on the patio. The pizza is excellent!

I was in Mackay for work and stayed here. Nice little gem of a place, probably too good for Mackay! The owner is very nice and she's done a great job of refurbishing the rooms. Don't stay anywhere else in Mackay!
