JES Foundation Repair

My mother called and explained our living situation before an appointment was made. We do not own the house we live in but we have a contract which states we have explicit free liberty of the house to do whatever we want. She received good feedback and was offered to schedule an appointment. The inspector confirmed the appointment the day before he came out. The day of the inspection, he ended up arriving earlier than we expected since one of his earlier appointments fell through. Up to that point, we had received excellent customer service, but all that quickly crashed and burned promptly after his arrival. He refused to do the inspection and was extremely condescending with my mom. We can even go as far as to say that she was discriminated against as my mom is a short older Latina woman who has an accent. The guy made several uncalled for remarks and even went as far as asking if the owner even knew we were living here, alluding to the fact that he was assuming we were living here illegally. I don't know what kind of customer service training these field workers get, but this is definitely NOT the way you treat customers. He abruptly told my mom she was wasting his time and that he came to sign a contract for business. He also kept demanding my mom tell him every detail as to how we came to live in the house. I am highly upset with this situation and will definitely think twice before I ever decide to do business with this company again.

2/28/24 Update:
The GM reached out to us today to try to make things right. His effort alone and willingness to hear me out has really made a difference in repairing the extremely negative experience we had. He informed me that the inspector had reached out to him shortly after leaving our house, which I am more than sure that it was just a matter of CYA on the inspector's behalf. The GM was very attentive in listening to everything I had to say and even went as far as apologizing several times. He also wanted to know what they could do as a company to fix this situation. As it stands now, we have decided to take a step back from doing anything to the house as the negative experience has definitely made its mark. I let him know of this decision to which he was very understanding and offered to help us in any future situations. I told him I am a huge advocate for proper customer service and that the only thing I want from them is to focus on training their field workers better so they can assist their future customers more efficiently. I am very pleased with this interaction as it shows that the GM really does care about their customers and is willing to go above and beyond to do what's right. In this day and age, that is not very common nor is it an easy fete. I commend him for his efforts and will definitely consider working with this company if the need arises again in the future.

I recently left a negative review for JES foundation repair in regards to a situation that involved my mother and the services that she rendered from JES foundation. The owner did respond promptly after contacting my mother and discussing the situation and the issue that she had. He did take responsibility and apologize for the experience that my mother had and what was told and conveyed to her and he did take care of the issue promptly. My mother and I appreciate JES taking responsibility and making sure that it was corrected! That is why I’m returning to leave a positive review for the company! Thank you again for making sure my mother was taken care of!

The JES team which consisted of John, Cruz and Joseph was very professional. I call them the ‘dream team’. Their work on insulating my crawl space and lifting my foundation in Laurel , Delaware was exceptional. I felt safe with them in/out of my property and their service was beyond what I expected. I highly recommend this team and JES for your foundation repair and any other services you need. Excellent work!!

Very pleased with the work by JES. They were able to advance the scheduling and do the work sooner than anticipated. Eric took the time to do a thorough quote. Hayden and Josh arrived on time and completed the the work quickly and professionally.

Joe Caruso came out to inspect the foundation at my house. He listened to my concerns and looked over the places I had expressed concerns with near the foundation. He was very knowledgeable and explained things well. He is a very good communicator and showed me things to look out for in the future. Joe is very kind. I am very pleased with my first experience with JES Foundation and Repair.

Very professional and good communication, bought a house that had no vapor barrier and was getting a mildew smell from it, high humidity down there, also noticed a lot of bugs in the crawlspace, Blaine was the one who came out for the initial inspection and quote, he arrived on time, very knowledgeable and actually gave me a phone number i could contact that worked. Dion and Kameron were the crew that actually came and did the work, very professional and polite… they did great work, the company as a whole was very good about communication, from the first inspection to the arrival dates to the foreman to calling their office to ask questions and deal with billing, they actually have real people that answer their phones and reply to txts and emails, i would definitely recommend them to anyone having foundation issues. The price is expensive as anyone having an encapsulation process knows is going to be, fortunately the company offers financing which is a huge plus, the house needed the work done so don’t get caught up on the price too much, it’s expensive yes but if your home needs it done then just finance it and get it done. Their work is very good and clean, can’t say more about the communication of everyone i had contact with, overall they are a very professional company and I thank them for their hard work.

We recently had our crawlspace encapsulated by JES Foundation Repair, and we have nothing but good things to say about their work! We had an initial inspection and evaluation of our crawlspace performed by Jordan Cook, who was able to quickly identify the issues with our crawlspace and develop a plan to address them effectively. He gave us a detailed description of the work that would go into the encapsulation and gave us a quote on the spot. We did not feel pressured at all, this was not a sales pitch, more a discussion of what we wanted done and how they could get it done for us. We signed the contract before he left, we were so pleased with what we heard - again, this was not a pushy salesman. Jordan followed up with us regularly, even after the encapsulation was scheduled to make sure we didn't have any further questions or concerns which sets him and JES apart from regular salespeople who get you to sign the contract and then disappear.

We can't give enough praise to the team who performed the encapsulation on our crawlspace. Abdul Karagdy & Abdul Wurie were model professionals. What really stood out to us was how courteous and respectful these two men were throughout the process. They arrived on time and worked efficiently, all while being mindful of our home and our time. They were attentive to detail and took care to leave the area clean and tidy when they were done. Our crawlspace went from health & safety hazard to an area of our home fit to live in (if it weren't for the limited headroom!)

Overall, we're extremely satisfied with the work that JES did on our crawlspace. They went above and beyond our expectations and delivered a high-quality final product. We would highly recommend JES Foundation Repair to anyone in need of similar services. Thanks again for a job well done!

From Michael B who did the inspection and determination of what was needed done and the schedulers to set the dates of work to be done to the actual workmen who did the work was excellent. As for value of the work since I did not get another estimation to determine pricing value, I'll base it on the workers - Ahmed F, Jose D and Jesus B who completed the main area of work in the smaller crawl space by replacing a rotted floor beam with footers, jacks and placement of a steel beam over two days of intense work dealing with rocks. On the third day after the jacks were levered in place under the steel beam they completed the placement of a vapor barrier throughout the foundation crawlspace as the final item of the project to be done. They knew what they were doing and worked as a team to get the jobs done.

J.R Walker and Kris Schneider were respectful, polite and thoughtful. They explained everything they were doing and made helpful suggestions for other improvements we can do ourselves. They went the extra mile to make sure we were satisfied and understood everything they were doing.

JES did an amazing job on our concrete driveway going into our garage. The driveway had settled in was several inches below the garage, making it very difficult to get into the garage. JES gave us a reasonable estimate and sent Austin to do the repairs. He did an amazing job. Our driveway looks great and now it is not a chore to get into the garage anymore and the driveway looks so much better than it did before JES did the repairs. Austin was excellent in his customer service as he explained the entire process and even allowed me to watch as the amazing process took place. He answered all my questions and made sure that I knew exactly what he was doing. I would use JES for my repairs again and I would encourage anybody that has foundation and driveway repair needing done to use JES. And if you can get Austin to be your repairman, then that is even better!

We had our crawl space encapsulated over a 3 day period from August 17 - 19, 2020. JES's Certified Field Inspector, Chris A., came to our home on June 12 and inspected our dirt/gravel crawlspace. He spent time under our damp, dark, musty smelling crawl space taking pictures, measurements and checking for mold and wood rot. He then sat down with both of us and explained the whole process in great detail. He was very knowledgeable, professional and offered options to work with our budget. We then scheduled the date, the earliest being in mid-August. Considering COVID as a factor, I was surprised it went as well as it did.

The office staff at JES was a great help also! We were kept updated on the time frame, the expectations of us as the homeowners, and when the crew would arrive. Amanda B. was wonderful with assisting us with the final payment process also.

Upon arrival on August 17, the 4 man crew introduced themselves -
Foreman - Michael B.; Co-foreman - LaMicheal S.; Installers - Sean H. and Darrien U. They were professional in appearance and in maintaining a neat workspace. It was a hot, humid 3 days that these 4 gentlemen crawled under my house removing old insulation, black plastic, incidental refuse and a couple of dried, dead black snakes (I am sure feeding on the frogs...). They explained what they were doing and the ongoing process. I told them they could drive their box truck to the back of the house but, they were conscious of my yard and carried all of their materials around the house, not messing up the grass.

I enjoyed the camaraderie shared between the members of this crew. They all worked well together and had positive attitudes! Especially for the miserable conditions they had to work under. You can not stand upright in this crawlspace and the gravel was miserable to crawl over. Then imagine pulling the old insulation down from above you, while on your knees, and an old black snack falls down on you. Also, the heating and air units are in this crawlspace and the duct work is 'soupy' from the humidity. They had to duck and crawl over and under lines, pipes, duct work and cables. Whew!

Well, on day 3, what a transformation! It is so clean, white and comfortable. The dehumidifier has really made a difference with a pump that has been connected to tubing that drains to the outside. I am amazed at the amount of moisture that is being removed. The dehumidifier "cycles" and not only removes the moisture but also provides air purification. We can not hear this in the house.

When the job was completed, Mike did a "crawl-through" of the space and reviewed what had been done, answering questions and explaining the equipment and process. He and the crew then cleaned up, said goodbye and left. Very professional, courteous, respectful and amicable.

The next day, JES sent a Quality Check Inspector (can not remember his name) to review the completed job. He went into the crawl space, made some minor touch ups and left a nice door mat. A great touch!

The only draw back, is the new door to the crawl space. It is secured with toggle bolts and has to be completely removed to access the crawl space. Our old door had a hinge opening and swung to the side. It is just awkward to maneuver off and on, alone. That would not be an issue but, we have to access our water filter fairly frequently.

All in all, we are very pleased with the transformation of our crawlspace.
One thing that stands out, when a service person comes to work on the plumbing, heating and AC, or any thing under the house, the work conditions will be so much better and, they will have to take their refuse with them. And, take their shoes off:)....

The Service plan is also something we purchased to ensure the system's continued reliability. The 25 year guarantee/warranty with a company that has been in business since 1993 is a plus also. Also, the warranty is transferable to future owners. We are Blessed! So thankful to JES and it's wonderful employees!! God Bless!!

We contracted with JES to repair our slowly shifting foundation of our home. JES sent a crew led by Rudy G. who was an excellent crew leader. Because I am a busy-body handyman like persona I had many questions throughout the repair process while they were busy driving steel piers under the house' foundation. Rudy and his helpers Jose R. and Jose L. all responded directly to my inquiries and most noteworthy was their willingness to explain to me in detail the various things they were doing. Furthermore, they were dedicated not to trespass on the neighbor's driveways even though we had a mountain of dirt excavated from within the various trenches in two very narrow yard spaces. It was a impressive experience and in the end they even volunteered to assist me in routing the water from the downspouts away from the house which was the principal cause of my problem.

I had issues with my foundation in my crawl space and from the initial visit they were on time and told us what was wrong. We did have to wait over a month to get scheduled in. Once the work crew began we noticed their punctuality daily! This to me was a great thing because in Virginia a lot of repairmen don't know how scheduling and punctuality work. The crew were very courteous. Our foreman, David Coffer was very informative and pleasant. His crew (Devon, Justin and Donovan) were also amazing at keeping things moving, they were respectful and I would highly recommend JES and this team of young men to work at any of my friends house!

I know it has only been day 1 since they finished the job so my review is solely on the punctuality and friendliness of the crew. After 1 year of everything working like it should and for what we paid JES for I will update my review to the quality of the service. REMINDER set on my phone for an updated yearly review.

I used JES Foundation Repair for a foundation issue. All members of the organization were professional, polite and did a good job. I would recommend this company for any foundation repairs. Members of the repair team were Jacob Miller, Ruben Echegaray, Bentley Hutchison and Luis Torres.

Foreman Rod and his crew co-foreman Aaron and installers Steven and Keenan made an amazing team. They worked so well together. They always made time to stop and talk with us about what they were doing to waterproof our basement. They were professional workers and arrived on time both days. They were careful to clean up well after themselves. We would have this crew back to do work anytime. They were a pleasure to have around.

We called JES on a Thursday to come check out some hairline cracks we’d noticed in our foundation, just to be on the safe side. They called us back immediately and had a tech at our home the very next morning! Jeff Tyree was absolutely incredible! He inspected the house thoroughly, was honest, very professional and explained everything to us in a manner we could understand. While we ultimately didn’t have foundation issues, he helped us uncover a different plumbing related issue we did not know existed, which ultimately saved us thousands of dollars! We are so impressed with the honesty, integrity and thoroughness of this company, JES will certainly be our go to for future foundation and related issues. We highly recommend and will refer others to JES!

I hired JES for a concrete foundation raise and repair of my garage in mid-September 2019. The team that was assigned to my job (Pete, Aaron, Todd, Josh Davis (JD), Chris, and Jason) had a fantastic work ethic. I hope that I didn't leave anyone out that was assigned to my job. When they started the job, it was 100 degrees outside, but they continued to work efficiently and effectively. The crew was always responsive, hard working, and polite- no lollygagging. They were really good at explaining everything that they were doing and why. I certainly appreciated how very careful they were not to tear up my landscaping. The crew left the job site neat and clean and ensured I was satisfied. My repair included needing to dig up part of the sidewalk and they did a wonderful job on the repair of the concrete. I believe this company and this particular crew provided me with the best possible service I could have received. JES provided me with a lifetime warranty on their work and if I decide to sell my house at any time, the warranty will transfer to the new owners. It meant a lot to me to upon my final inspection of their work, that I was asked if I was satisfied with their work and if there was anything that I felt needed further attention, I have no doubt they would have continued until I was satisfied. If you are thinking of hiring this company, I really think you will believe you will be pleased too.
