I had the BEST experience at Halifax Hospital for my surgery! Everyone was so kind and attentive.
Everything was explained ahead of time and from the time I checked in til discharge , I knew exactly what was going to happen. Bella the night nurse truly listened to my concerns and made me feel cared for and was able to sleep. Amber the day nurse was so thoughtful. Even my husband commented on how clean and caring everything and everyone was during g my stay. Doctor Molpus kept myself and my husband informed before and during my stay. 100% recommend this hospital!!!

The most compassionate place that I have been hospitalized. Staff was super accommodating and professional. We are fortunate to have this hospital. Thanks for all you guys did to help in my healing process.

I've been treating at Halifax Center for Oncology since January 2022. I'm still alive. As of September 2023 I am cancer free! I love the staff there.

I came in with a family member with a really painful backache (10)
I was told there were people ahead so it would be a wait. An hour goes by and we are finally seen. Kidney stones was the answer. They admitted him and put a stint in to relieve the pressure. He was told he could go home and follow up with primary.
They kept him for the weekend for no reason. This was a waste of time. There is no Cafeteria but a high cost cafe with low quality food. The food is not fresh and so is it's coffee.

Unfortunately most of the staff that we came in contact with during an emergency 4 day stay were poorly managed, could care less about their jobs, were jaded, and overworked. There were some bright spots but they were few and far between. In defense of Halifax, the clientele that frequents the hospital was generally aggressive and challenging. It reminded me of an inner city hospital. I would recommend Advent Health Care in Ormond. (Addendum 1 week later) Brooks Rehabilitation on the 8th floor at Halifax Hospital was a different world. The staff were competent, caring, and organized. I’m guessing that Brooks is it’s own private entity based inside the hospital because their whole culture was different, in a great way, from the rest of the hospital. 5 stars for Brooks Rehab…2 stars for Halifax Emergency Department.

I personally had a good experience but it was only because i had my grandmother there honestly, if it weren’t for her it’s no telling what might’ve been happening, they were rude to other patients, ignored patients, and some were extremely rude to patients and this was all towards the elderly. Do better because if it were your family member you wouldn’t like it!

Scary and Disgusting. They have no idea what they are doing. Started with waiting about 15 minutes in the ER with chest pains before they even asked my name and what I was there for because they were to busy dealing with drug addicts. They can’t even put a simple IV in correctly, they chose an inconvenient location and an uneducated start in which they tried to also allow a ton of air to also enter through the IV and into the veins until we made it clear that is unacceptable and even then they didn’t even know how to get them out. Which screams uneducated. They couldn’t even remember to take the clip off so the IV would even start. Between tests no one would start the IV back up again until we complained multiple times that it is still pinched. The quoted 15 minute long test in which I was told to leave my belongings behind turned into an two hour test to which I returned to an officer and a nurse standing in the room next to my belongings accusing of using the vapes stored in my purse. In which I did not, nor was I never questioned about it before I left the room, only after in which my belongings were left alone and unattended to be gone through. Why would security allow my purse to go through check in if vapes are not allowed and they are going to threaten people with fines and accuse them of using them when in fact they never were. PA introduced himself by putting the lights on when I was sleeping around 6am in the morning and without even giving me a moment to wake up, started asking me questions and when I could not tell him the results of my dead sisters autopsy, he continued to question me about her and clearly irritated by my inability to provide answers of what I don’t know.. as if I should know every detail about my dead sisters autopsy report and when I couldn’t answer he scoffed and walked away. PA told us after a phone call in 10 minutes we would then be getting discharged.. over an hour later he finally comes back to us and asks if we need a doctors note and then told us about the medication ordered and then walked away, another 30-45 minutes later we finally got discharged and were able to walk out of the building. The 15 supposed long minute test that turned into two hours long, also was very alone and frightening as for most of it I was alone because they told me they would bring my partner back to me and never did until a stranger saw me crying and offered their help. Not only is the staff very ignorant but they also are careless and show lack of empathy and disregard for safety and proper procedures. Even the simple ones like cleaning the IV port with alcohol before flushing , or even wash their hands once! I could go on and on, the pure simple fact is it’s completely a disgrace.

This place has killed so many people... and the staff are just so numb to people's cries for help that they don't even make eye contact hardly anymore. The BEST person and I mean THE BEST one I've come into contact there was the security guard at the entrance to the E.R. He was the best part of my experience there. I've lost ALL of my grandparents there as well as quite a few friends, all due to "complications" of them either getting a dosage wrong or them misreading a chart or just gross incompetence on the staffing part. God be with anyone who has to go there..

My husband had a scheduled procedure for 8:00 in the morning we're told to be there at 5:30. They screwed up the blood work, they bumped his surgery and he didn't get in until 11:30! No one ever came in to explain what was going on, I had to constantly go check myself, no nurses came to check his fluids, nothing. Tremendous lack of communication and caring!! Will not come back for anything!😠

Terrible experience. GO TO ADVENT HEALTH!!! I sat and waiting with a broken nose leaking blood from 10:00pm - 5:00am seen the doctor once for maybe 2 minutes and she said all these words diddnt explain anything told me to ice my nose after waiting there all night expecting to fix it. Went to advent health and the process was perfect! They had me in and out for blood work day before the surgery which took 10 minutes! My surgery was at 7am and I’m not resting in bed and it’s 12pm!! ADVENT HEALTH IS THE WAY TO GO!!

Hospital is slow especially with this security in place got to wife's appointment and the line was outside the door, security checking bags for weapons is just making people get late to their appointment at this hospital they need to either get more guards or do away with it this is the only hospital that does this
