Sheraton Scrub Preserve

Nicely maintained. Lookout platform was very nice. Trails are kept up very well. Informational flyers available on site.

Bring your own water.
Flat, sandy, sidewalk-wide trail, an easy one mile walk that goes in a loop. You cannot get lost.
I encountered two other people on the trail.
Mostly quiet, just very faint traffic noise. I heard cicadas, crickets, and rustling in the underbrush but did not see any animals. I saw two birds overhead but was not particularly looking.
It was a beautiful December afternoon in the 70’s. The trail is sun/shade mix.
Parking: free in the fenced in, grassy lot.
Interpretive trail maps at the entrance kiosk.
What could make it better? I wish it were longer. So, my dog and I walked it twice around.

Nice bird and animal watching reserve. I like seeing the scrub Jays so cute 👌

Terrible place. No birds at all. No trees other than low hammock and certainly no scrub jays. We found a local who told us the county had inept trimmer who came in with loud equipment, sheared stuff that might have been jay habitat. After that happened the jays left and di not return. The sign is awful too. The place is very unkempt.
