We accidentally came upon this gem! Spent a couple hours and thoroughly enjoyed it - 4 of us. We were in Dawsonville camping and had a great time.

Bill Elliott, champion NASCAR driver, retired to Dawsonville and where else would the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame be located? And his son Chase Elliott, who is also a racing champion, lives here. So yeah, out here in Dawsonville is the perfect place for this history museum.

It starts with a video of racing highlights and some explanation of Dawsonville's importance and after that, you're treated to a collection of racing memorabilia including trophies, posters, race uniforms and helmets and yes, a number of cars from different race categories. Plenty to see.

We lucked out today with a car show in the front and a barbecue out back. There is a gift shop with shirts and hats and such. There are some "Bill Elliott" fridge magnets, too.

I had family visiting from afar, and the kids were out of school for spring break. So I decided to bring everyone up to the racing hall of fame, and I'm glad that I did. I used Groupon along with a promo code that I found online to get in for half-price. The coolest thing was Chase Elliot's race truck that you could sit in and practice a tire change on.

This place is an absolute MUST SEE! They've got it all. Fun for all ages in the museum, but there is a distillery for those of age where you can taste all the moonshine in the world. They have 109 proof moonshine. It's an amazing place! We will definitely be back!

Although many may believe this to be solely an Elliott family museum because of its location in Dawsonville, this is actually a shrine to ALL noteworthy Georgia racers through all eras of motorsports.
They have an AMAZING collection of artifacts and cars on display, and tributes to each individual Hall of Fame member.
My Dad took me here several times on day trips from our home just outside of Knoxville TN. I continue to go at least once per year to carry on the tradition.
You have established a wonderful legacy Mr. Pirkle!!

This is a really well-done museum and recently updated. Our family had a lot of fun visiting. There was no wait, and the cost was very reasonable. Everyone there was so friendly and there was a lot of interesting history.

Had a fantastic day, Lunch at the Pool Room followed by tour of Georgia Racing Hall of Fame.
Had the pleasure of meeting Cindy Elliott she's an absolute gem, she was gracious enough to Sign my Chase Elliott T-shirt.
Cindy gave Marianne and I a general preview of the museum and really made us feel Special.

Thank you Cindy Elliott you were the best and only way to wrap up our day trip to the home town of 2 of NASCAR's greatest Champions.

Truly a day I will NEVER FORGET.

Great place with tons of racing memorilla from pictures, videos, cars and race shop engines and equipment. The Curator was great and has a ton of knowledge and stories on the cars and equipment there. Great Pictures of the Famous Drivers of the Past who made the Sport popular. You won't be disappointed.

We had a BLAST. We went there for our 8 Year dating Anniversary. We can't wait to go again. My husband Loved it,I loved it. We love racing and watching the moonshiners on TV. So in a short way of saying it, it was the best of both worlds. Watching How racing got started all because of the moonshiners. And we also like the short 10-15 minute video in the back seat of cars.
