Dawsonville Moonshine Distillery

This place was amazing. We came in right after a group was leaving out so we had the place to ourselves. We got to speak to the owner and about her history. Everyone was beyond friendly and welcoming. After we chatted for about 30 minutes and go out free samples, picked out our bottle and shot glasses, we headed to the tour.
Bullet Bill was so amazing to watch and listen too. He is so passionate about what they do at the distillery,the steps that theu,take and how to take care of things. Watching his eyes light up when he spoke about each step made the tour much more exciting. Then we got to lower our hands into the fermenting batch that was to the side. The strong smell of yeast arose from there along with bubbles and heat--lots of heat.
The process was so,much fin,to learn about and we will definitely be back this October when they release their 2 yr aged peach bourbon!

Very interesting place to see plus what's not to love that it's owned by my favorite Nascar driver's dad, Bill Elliott. They can let you try samples. Great tasting moonshine! We bought the sample pack.

What a great stop! We popped in on a Friday afternoon to look at getting some moonshine and ended up spending an hour and a half in there! The tour was entertaining and enjoyable! Our tour guide was a distiller and knew the process front and back! We tried 7 or 8 different moonshines and picked one out to take home. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone under 21 as it might be boring but for adults it's a great little find! I'll be back!

Loved it. The shine and whiskey tasting was great and the still tour with Bullet Bob was informative. With the GA Racing Hall of Fame in the same building it's a definite must see.

This little place was a nice stop. Took a tour and they are very knowledgeable and interesting history of his moonshine distilling family of 4 generations. A must stop if in the area.

This is a nice place to check out after a visit to the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame next door. You can sample the moonshine and get lots of information from the gentleman who makes it. They went above and beyond for me when I accidentally left my credit card on the counter. Employee (maybe the owner)Jeff actually tracked me down on social media to tell me I left my card there! He's just one example of the extremely nice people I met in Dawsonville and the surrounding area.

We were on vacation and really wanted to try moonshine. This place was great. The lovely lady behind the counter was a great help and we tasted all the different drinks. Got a great explanation of the history and had a really nice chat with her. Very friendly

2 wet days. One nice day. But I will be back next year. Missed my favorite -- the swap meet. There was plenty of room for it. And something needs to be done about all the dogs. Thanks for all of your hard work. Good job!

My boyfriend and I came up from SW Florida. We were very excited about seeing this place. We did end up getting a Groupon which I highly recommend if it's available. Although what made this experience extra special was talking with "Rocket Man" You should definitely ask for him when you go.

We had an amazing time during our tour with Dr. Shine! He was detailed, personable and shared great knowledge regarding the history and process of moonshining. This distillery is filled with so much rich family history, it is definitely a must see!

The distillery is cool and the moonshine is good. It's nice that you can try them. The only thing to note is that there is no restroom here so go before you get here. It's not really a tasting room and more of a store with samples.

The place is awesome! Great tour not to mention all those cool old school NASCAR vehicles! I kinda wish it was a little longer but it really was a nice tour though. Their liquor is great too, we ended up taking home some white lightning, apple pie and some of their burbon.. all great! It's kind of cool too because if you have watched the moonshiners show they have some notable names on their wall of fame. The directions kind of threw us off but it's the same building as city hall and the lion grocery store. We'll probably be returning! Thanks!

This was an awesome adventure for me and my husband. The employees give you a real moonshine experience and you get to take a bottle home! Smokey Bear was our guide, he was amazing. I highly recommend going and checking this distillery out

The lady pouring the samples, and giving information about the history of the distillery made it so fun I laughed my head off! LOL. I liked her a lot! They are good people my gut tells me so!!! Love that lady, and you will too...😉😎😀💚

Neat to see. A distillery, a nascar museum and the city hall all in one building in a food lion parking lot. Its neat to see just to tell folks we have seen it. The shine is good and the folks are super nice.
