A local favorite. The food is cheap and good and the atmosphere is perfect for taking the family out.
Plan to stay a little while, not because the service is slow, but because you'll just wanna stick around a little while and relax. You may run into old friends or make new ones while you're there.
Absolutely worth a stop if you're new in town, just passing through, or have lived here your whole life.

I grew up in these hot dogs - hands down still the best I've ever had. The chili cheese dog is amazing but as I've gotten older I have to restrain myself to just the chili dog with cheese fries...for my health : )

"Best dog ever bitten by man" is RIGHT! I love this place! It's always good and fresh food no matter when you come by! It's a popular local place that's been in business since I was a child and it's well loved by the locals. Employees are friendly and food is DELICIOUS every time!

Monroe's is a destination for us when visiting family in south Georgia. We simply adore the hot dogs and on this trip, since we missed Monroe's so much, we went twice and it was great, both times.

Best hotdogs you can find anywhere. This place has been a fixture of this town since I first visited here as a child. Doesn’t have pool anymore, but the food is still amazing

If you're rolling down Hwy 19 and you want a great lunch, be sure to make a short detour to downtown Americus and visit Monroe's! You know the locals anywhere know what's good and this is a favorite. One of mine too! The chili dogs are great, but the slaw dogs are my favorite any day. Get the loaded tots if you are really feeling hungry! Mahe sure to get the gravy on them. Overall, nice place, friendly staff, lots of seating. Never been there at night for dinner or billiards...

Chili cheese dogs and Chili cheese fries were delicious, big crowds of happy people. Worth trying.

The best Chilli dogs you'll ever have. Loved this place in college. Not to bad on prices and very good food.

This is my dad's favorite place to eat whenever he comes to Americus! Just be warned they get super packed at lunch and you may have to wait about 30-45 mins but it's worth it!

I make it a point to stop at Monroe's every time I'm in Americus. Legendary hotdogs and their scramble dog is the BEST.

Great place for a good meal at a fair price

This was my first time at Monroe's. It is definitely not my last. It was like going to the Varsity in Atlanta. Very busy but the staff is quick and efficient and friendly. There were patrons that had been going there for years,bringing their children and parents to have a quick lunch. The food was delicious!

Best chili dogs I ever grew up on. Started eating these delicious dogs when they were at the Windsor Hotel in Americus. Truly the best dog bit by man.

They have great chili dogs and you can get a hot dog fixed just about any way you want. But if a hot dog isn't what you fancy, they offer other items, such as hamburger steak, cheeseburgers, grilled cheese, to name a few.

Great small town mom and pops restaurants . The atmosphere was laid back and welcoming. I absolutely love dining at non-franchised local dinners they just have this family feel to them.
The Slaw dog was delicious!! You also just have to try the gray fries. If you are from the south like I am you know that gravy is a big time staple of ours. I have no idea why I’ve never thought to try brown gravy on fries before.
If you are in the area I recommend skipping the chain restaurants and visit Monroe’s for some all American hotdogs and some gravy fries!!
