Mussels were very good. The short rib lasagna was unfortunately cold. The drinks were good. Service was good as well.

Overall gave a 5 for food still as the taste was there.

Had such a nice time here. Let them know we were celebrating my friend’s birthday, and every server wished her a happy birthday (not to mention a wonderful tiramisu with a candle. Food was great and atmosphere was lovely.

One of the top three pasta spots in Boston.

A renowned name in Boston's pasta scene, MIDA lived up to its reputation during my recent visit. While the service wasn't exceptionally warm, it was efficient, and their pasta more than compensated.

Our meal began with Sicilian Mussels and Arancini. Both appetizers were enjoyable, though they didn't particularly stand out as exceptional. However, the main draw at MIDA was undoubtedly Chef Williams' hand-made pasta.

The pasta dishes showcased a perfect al dente texture. Among the ones we ordered, the Rock Shrimp Carbonara and the Short Rib Lasagna were the highlights. Chef Williams' focus on acidity brought a unique twist to traditional recipes - the carbonara, with its unconventional zest from lemon juice, might stray from tradition but delivered a fascinating flavor profile. Its flavors perfectly blended with the succulent texture of the rock shrimp, which was reminiscent of a delicate botan ebi sushi.

Short rib lasagna was another perfection. The ribs weren’t as tender as expected, but they were crisply cooked, reducing the fatty feel and lending the lasagna a more balanced flavor profile.

As MIDA extends its reach across Boston, the opportunity to savor their exquisite pasta dishes has become more accessible than ever. While I’m not sure if the pasta from other places will match the quality of the ones from this original location, MIDA presents a great alternative for anyone seeking a departure from the conventional red-sauce pastas of North End.

A quaint little restaurant - reservations are definitely recommended as it is small. The service is fantastic! Staff are very friendly & they have a coat check. They have a decent sized cocktail list - I loved the Apollonia Spritz. For starters, I highly recommend the arancini! We also had a side of foccacia which was amazing. Gnocchi & lasagna were yummy. Make sure you finish your meal with some Gelato!

Had a lovely evening at MIDA the other week and would really recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a small and cosy Italian restaurant!

From friendly staff and delicious food to an incredible atmosphere — this place posed as the perfect evening out!

Make sure not to miss the cocktails either!

Perfect Italian food in the South End of Boston with Gluten Free Pasta!!

My wife and I went here on a Sunday evening for dinner, and loved it all. The service was immaculate, we were greeted right away. We sat down and our drinks came right out. They took our order all at once as they want to be the ones to worry about when to deliver (apps vs 1st and second etc). The food was delicious and probably the best Italian I’ve had in Boston. We started with mussels and arancini. Then moved to all’amatriciana, and shrimp carbonara. All delicious!! For desert we each got raspberry sorbet with espresso.

Prices were great. So much lower than the rest of Boston. Parking is hard to find so I suggest taking an Uber. The inside is spacious but small. It’s a cool set up with the bar right as you come in the front door. We certainly will be back!

Really nice spot for Italian food and so well priced, like incredibly well priced.

The roasted chicken was amazing, like super tasty. And the focaccia bread is so delicious.

The eggplant parm was really tasty and had a great spice to it. The gnocchi cacio e pepe was really really good.

We called and asked for a very last minute reservation for 6 people at 5:15pm and they were able to accommodate us on the patio! Service was excellent, and the food was even better!! Every dish ordered was delicious and beautifully made! I would definitely come back.

Popular spot, and rightfully so! The pasta is delicious and the atmosphere is ideal for small groups (it feels cozy, lively but not overwhelmingly loud). Highly recommend their short rib lasagna! Visit on a Monday for Mangia Monday (menu for two) if you want the opportunity to try a handful of pasta entrees in one sitting—perfect for a date or to catch up with a friend. Save room for dessert!

Had mother's day dinner here. We had a reservation and were seated right away. The food was delicious and so was the service great. I especially liked the amalfi coast cocktail, calamari appetizer and shrimp pasta. Their strawberry shortcake dessert was amazing too!

One of the best Italian restaurants in Boston. Food was good and flavorful. The foccacia and risotto were highlights, but mostly because I've made short rib lasagna myself a few times. Service was also great. Servers were attentive and accommodating.

Great dinner with delicious and creative menu options (definitely recommend the polenta side). Our server was super attentive, and the place had an overall good vibe for a cute date night, with dimmed lights and good music. Just a short walk from the mass ave t stop, and there seemed to be some parking on the side streets nearby.

We received delicious sourdough and oil at the start of our meal, followed by arancini and polenta, then finished with the cacio e pepe gnocchi and short rib lasagna. Everything was amazing!

Everything about this place is incredible - the atmosphere, the service, cocktails, food, dessert - it’s truly a joy to eat here. Some highlights include the arancini, antipasti plate, carbonara, roast chicken and short rib lasagna. We also had the tiramisu which was such a treat and great way to round out the meal. If you’re looking for an upscale yet relaxing dining experience in Boston - COME HERE! Everything we had was to die for (special shout-out to the chicken & risotto - some of the best I’ve ever had). My new favorite restaurant in Boston.

Five stars earned! Best calamari (misto) i've had in my life second only to giodanis in Chicago. The lemons and peppers make it. The ricotta gnocchi was also the best I've ever had in my life. So Soft and squishy with amazing flavor! The bread they brought out seemed to be whole wheat sourdough, warm and recently toasted. Impeccable taste. The short rib lasagna was innovative, hardy and delicious. The atmosphere were clean, sheek, and beautiful. Service was wonderful and friendly. A day later we are still thinking about how delicious and wonderful the experience was. We will be returning for occasions since the price is a but higher than we normally use.

The food, drinks and service are always fantastic. Tonight we had the pleasure of sitting at the chef's table and being served by Sebastian . Chef CJ and his team are talented and it was so much fun to watch them show off their skills and talents. They flawlessly executed order after order with precision and grace. They made hard work look easy. We left with full bellys and big smiles. Thanks for a wonderful date night. They are consistently great at what they do and it's one of my go to places.

This restaurant was absolutely amazing. I made a regular reservation and my boyfriend and I were seated at the chef’s table, the best table in the restaurant. The head chef was super nice and gave us some extra dishes on the house; two sides and 3 samples of main dishes. The food was incredible. The drinks were also very delicious. The waitstaff was also very kind. It was a busy night and they still made sure we were taken care of. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want to go somewhere fancy.

We ordered arancini, mushroom risotto with chicken and the gnocchi. All the dishes were very flavourful. The service was a little bit slow. Otherwise we enjoyed our food even though it was a little bit on the pricey side. We also got tiramisu and gelato for dessert. The vanilla gelato was one of the creamiest ones I had ever tasted.

Mangia Monday is fantastic! All their pasta tasted so fresh I would think there's a grandma in the back making them. Their olive oil is so tasty my gf and I took back home the oil used for the bread. The drinks were so well made and were amazing. Finally their desserts are extremely tasty. I mean you HAVE to try the pistachio gelato. Legitimately the best I've ever had... and I'm semi seasoned at cuisine tasting. Their staff are super friendly and well mannered about everything. The atmosphere is classy but reachable, and their overall experience is delightful. A MUST try for anyone interested! My new favorite pasta spot in town. 10/10 would recommend!

Super nice restaurant with an excellent staff! The food is very good, especially the gnocchi cacio e pepe and the arancini. I have to admit that at first I was skeptical about the steak lasagna as I am very attached to an authentic lasagna from my home country, but at the end it was very good and I'm happy to have tried it. The environment is very pleasant, outside on the main street is maybe a bit noisy but inside is very nice; we asked to be moved inside and the waiter was extremely kind with our request.
