Community Counseling Services

CCS Starkville is working towards doing great things for the community. They are going into schools and helping our children, as well as, adults. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful.

A very carring staff that works with what they have to help.
My fiance started going there to get help with mental illness after being misdiagnosed two times.

The therapist there are very caring and open and they actually listen to your conserns, but do to being so understaffed we discontinued having him see a regular therapist.

They were very understadning about the fact they dont have alot of time to help my partner so they refered us to the Mississippi State University Clincal Services.

The psychiatrist there Dr. Overstreet is such a wonderful man! He is so helpful with ym partner he works with him on his medications and even provides some small psychotherapy duirn their sessions.

My partner sees him once every two months and I am so happy to have met this man! he has helped us so much and i know he will contie to in the future!

The staff there is vey friendly and helpful with sceduling and payments. They very honest and strighforward people.

They staff is also very professional if you arent willing to work with them they wont baby you and i like that about them. They treat everyone like a responsible adult.

I would highly recommend them!

I would like to give the Community Counseling a try because of course, I really want to make some new friends and work there if it's necessary. Also, I really don't see why this Community Counseling have 2 stars 🌟. Therefore, I really want to go there and I really want have fun there.

This center can help with anxiety, depression, substances, whatever you’ve got going on. Caring staff!

Wonderful people here

Unprofessional receptionists. Literally playing games on her phone while she was supposed to be looking up my appointment. The actual therapist I talked to kept talking over me everytime he asked me a question. Left feeling a little bit worse because Whenever I told him what was bothering me he would basically say “that’s life” in paragraph form. I was told that I would only have to pay out of pocket for my first visit. Almost $100 and then when I came back for my next one they told me I would have to pay $40. Don’t go here. They’re trippin

Shady billing practices. I went to them twice (once for prescreening and once for an actual appointment) paid $150 for my appointment. (Never went back). They sent me a non-itemized bill nearly a year later asking for $230+ The receptionists are very unprofessional. I called before my first appointment to ensure I was bringing the correct paperwork with me. When I arrived with what I thought I needed, I was told I’d need several other documents before being seen that day. Very distressing and discouraging for someone seeking help for their mental state. Don’t go unless you have great insurance or money to blow.

Two years ago I was assigned to Norma Kimbrough as my therapist and she fell asleep in three out of four of my appointments. I only went back to see if it was a fluke or a lazy eye or something. It wasn’t.
I will say that a woman helped me with payments and paperwork for my medication. I’m ashamed I don’t remember her name; I was in a really, really bad place.

The psych there nearly killed me through arrogance and not listening when I was having ptoentially deadly side effects. They covered up abuse within the system and tried to silence me by forcing my parents to sign me into a psych ward when I dared question my "treatment" and the long-term damages of such. Norma Kimbrough is completely useless and incompetant and also tries to blame CHILDREN for adults attempting sexual advances on them in the waiting room of this place. Never go here, even if it is your only option.

they hire the worst people like Norma Kimbrough She treated my mom like trash and tried to kill her in 2007 till 2008 when I threw them out of my moms house they killed her in 2012 with drugs gotten from Jean Miller Norma's mom
she hates men and will lie about her research and for a price she will make you look the way you wish to look to judge their lawyer in their back pocket is malcom rogers stay out for your own good

Pitiful sad place. If you don’t have plenty of money you better not be struggling with your mental health here.
