Starkville's Pet Store

I've not yet been disappointed in quality of the live stock (fresh and saltwater fish, corals, & inverts) that I have purchased from here. Well managed and the entire work force is most helpful whenever I need advice on the care of fish and corals. Prices are fair and trade ins are welcome. Some of the best live rock I've seen in a pet store. Lots of coralline algae growth and beneficial filter feeders. They offer superior service and care about the appearance and upkeep of all aspects of their business. I would recommend this pet store to anyone and regularly suggest it to people that haven't gone because this is one business that I would like to see succeed in Starkville.

My husband and I adopted two 2 year old pups from the local shelter. While they'd been fostered and had some basic manners, they really needed some socializing. The folks at the Pet Store daycare have worked extensively with these two over the course of the last month and the transformation has been wonderful. They even connected us with a great trainer who actually spends time at the daycare, so the trainer was already familiar with our dogs. Great service--great people. And did I mention the doggie birthday and holiday parties? So cute!

I'm new to the area and boarded my pet for the first time with them. Very friendly and helpful staff! My dog has anxiety issues and they handled him very well. They were always quick to give me a status update whenever I called to check in; they knew exactly where he was and what he was doing. Extremely pleased with the entire experience!!

The Grooming Salon is great. My dog, Bella, loves going to day care. She can't wait to go everyday. It's clean, the staff are wonderful and helpful. The prices are fair. And the parties they throw are great. I would highely recommend and suggest taking your pups to Starkville's Pet store and Grooming Salon.

Chris is an extremely knowledgeable pet store owner. He can help you if you have questions about any kind of pet, from fish to lizards to dogs to Guinea pigs. I highly recommend him for your pet store needs. Friendly and very helpful.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Most of the prices on fish and aquarium accessories were much cheaper than Petsmart in Columbus or Petco in Meridian. Although, those stores tend to have a larger selection and occasionally run specials on certain fish that are cheaper.

The pet shop was neat and clean. The animals that were being sold appeared to be healthy and well cared for. The owner was friendly and very knowledgeable especially regarding different species of fish and aquarium maintenance.

Starkville's pet store is the only place I will board my dogs! I have a dog with severe separation anxiety who usually will not eat if he is away from me. At the pet store he does eat! I trust them completely with my dogs, and my dogs love it there. They have tons of room to run and play as opposed to many boarding places that only have kennels and 2 walks a day. Starkville's Pet Store is the best place to go! Whether you are looking for grooming, boarding, daycare, or exotics pet supplies, you will find the best quality from people who treat your fur babies as their own!

Love their fish selection. Great saltwater room too- with lots of fish, corals, live rock, & macroalge as well. Always helpful and will take the time to make sure you get what you really need. Great local store.

I always loved visiting this place to buy things for my pet rats but I recently bought a rabbit there and had to leave a five star review because she is so well socialized and happy (I've had her for around 5 days now) The staff was very knowledgeable about all of the tons of questions I had about getting her. Highly reccomend the rabbit breeder they have and also just the best pet store I've ever been to.

I absolutely love the let store and so do my dogs! they literally push me out of the car to go there! I would recommend for doggie day care, boarding, and grooming! All the staff is very sweet and truly loves my dogs!

Very knowledgeable and very courteous staff (and owners) -- they have a plethora of lizards and snakes (some very rare and simply amazing).

They even can compete with if not beat big chain prices (ie. Petsmart).

I would highly recommend shopping there ...and even just visiting to see (and hold) things other stores won't have much less let you handle.

Extremely helpful and friendly, Chris and the staff at Black Fish Exotics are very knowledgeable about the fish keeping hobby. My love for saltwater fish-keeping began at this store.

This is a wonderful place to find a new addition to your family, have them groomed, and shop for their needs! I love this store, and thanks to them I have a wonderful fur baby and a excellent care when all my fur babies need grooming!!

Everyone is so friendly and helpful. They really know their animals and care for them even the ones that aren't theirs! I take my dog there to get groomed and they do a great job!

They have a great staff! Everyone is very knowlegable about the animals, reptiles and fish. If they don't know the answer to your question, they will either look it up or call someone who does know. Absolutely amazing place!

I go here for all my saltwater needs. Very knowledgeable about marine species. If they don't have something, they can order it for you.

Excellent pet shop. Many options. Freshwater, saltwater, reptiles, small pets, puppies, and even adoption for cats. Very knowledgeable and helpful.
