I noticed that Benton county Electric, does not have that many good reviews. I am just wondering why? Everyone I have spoken too at Benton county electric has been awesome to us. Today, our power cycled a few times and I called to ask if they might be working on the power lines in my area. And the young lady checked for us, and said that they were not. And she even went as far to send a technician out to check our electrical panel and power in the meter box and even went up the electrical pole and checked all the connections. And they responded like within 30 minutes of being here. The two linemen were awesome, very polite and courtesy. So I am giving Benton county Electric 5 stars, I would give them more if I could. And not only for this. But also for the time I called and asked questions about getting set up for generator power if we ever lost power for extended period of time due to natural events. The gentleman I spoke with took an hour of his time to explain to me on every question I asked him. And he did it in detail, and he was very polite and courtesy as well. So Benton County Electric. Thank you all. We do appreciate you and your whole team working hard for us.

Setup electricity recently and everyone here, from start to finish, was absolutely professional, courteous, and beyond helpful. Incredible staff. The main office is 10,000 times swankier & luxurious than it needs or deserves to be, it's basically a modern Roman Temple to Electricity, but what can you do: they hold all the power 😇 Great company, wonderful staff, and expert workmen/linemen. They deserve golden work trucks with champagne dispensers. 10/10

I believe the deposit is too high and the pay as you go is also expensive. People who are not rich, struggle to live

I like the manager and like one of the employees ... but other than that, i dont see how our bill can spike in one day like we have everything on at once ALL DAY!!! Income taxes get here and we getting solar pannels

The extra nickel and dime charges on my bill every month were infuriating. I haven't hated a power company this much since I was stationed in Los Angeles. BCES I can't tell you how excited I am to no longer be a customer. Oh, and the charges to pay by card in person ... y'all are sittin in a huge building that's a monument to excess and still charging me to come in and pay with my debit card. Deny it all you want, reply to this with some corporate horse manure comment all you want, but we all see our bills and we all know how crooked you are. Do better

It would be nice to have a pay app that is easy to use. And without charging a fee to do your work.

My bill is due on the 8th I paid it on the 4th, on the 11th I received another utility bill stating it was due the 28th same month and if not paid it I would have a late fee. I went to there office and advised I paid my bill on the 4 th and don't get again until the the 1st and can't afford 2 bills in one month they told me they basically they didn't care pay or be fined . On 01-04-2023 I paid my bill on line and never had a problem this time they double charged me 210.53 when I called and explained what had happened they said it would be 7-10 days before I get a refund, I told them it took 5 min to take my money they had no wright to and make me waite 7-10 days too get it back . It's been 4 days and no refund, I'm on a fixed income 210 is alot of money to me and I need it , bad business

This is in no way intended to be a personal attack on anyone at Benton County Electric System. Unfortunately, though, their services are very lacking, and they have an unacceptable number of features to "nickel and dime" their customers.

I am currently using the pay-as-you-go feature, having decided that the $300 deposit (that I would never see again) to have electricity was a deal breaker.

It turns out that the pay-as-you-go plan assesses a $0.96 *DAILY* miscellaneous fee. I have asked about this and was told, "That's our policy."

Today, I was charged a $40 "Returned check" fee. I knew that I definitely had the money in my account, but this is embarrassing for anyone to have to deal with.

I called the bank to figure out why my payment was not taken. It never showed up. The bank called BCES and determined that it was a clerical error. I made a mistake when entering the account number. One digit.

Doesn't any person (or for that matter, any local business) simply forgive in that situation? Not BCES.

"That's policy," is the reason I was given. That might be policy, but I think that it's one that needs to be revisited.

I was not trying to do anything nefarious. I simply made a mistake. Apparently, that's unforgivable. I have to ask myself if this policy is aligned with their tendency to "nickel and dime" customers. I was more than willing to correct my mistake by getting my account caught up due to the mistake, but they would not work with me.

I know that there are plenty of people who are unable to eat $40 as easily as I did, and I am thankful that I can. However, I let them know that this "policy" is terrible. I do feel bad for the representative I spoke to, and I think it's regrettable that this person did not have the authority to fix what was a minor clerical error.

This rambling post is to let others know to BE EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS when making payments. They might cost you $40.

BE AWARE that your pay-as-you-go plan costs you an extra $350.40 per year, likely so that they recover the cost of the $300 deposit they're "not charging" you for a traditional account.

In a lower-income community like ours, it's past time for them to revisit these policies. For now, all I've got to say is, enjoy the $40, BCES.

The linemen are prompt and professional but the office personal and policies suck!

It's not a good place to have electricity through, they never even sent us a bill last month, they found it on someone's desk who never mailed it out. Then charged us more than they were supposed too and charged us for someone else's reconnection fee. This is not the first time they have messed up like this. Be careful if you have to use this electric company and make sure you have a lawyer on standby.

We are trying to update our outside light on the pole to an LED light.Their website said they have LED lights in stock.... They took the $25, now over a week later, we are still waiting. We called and they said they are waiting on the light to come in, lol....But, they are putting LED down main street. They are a joke and liars...Only in Benton Co. !!!!!

Anyone wanting to help improve our county electric system and the way they do things, need to contact our mayors office, and speak with Brett Lashley. Also you can file complaints thru the TVA website and we can all make a more positive impact on our community but it will take a TEAM effort!!!!! Put your story in black and white, send it to the higher ups, shine light on the problems seen, send possible solution suggestions with your complaint! Step outside of your comfort zone and get on a level with these people where we can all be heard! There is power in numbers and I do apologize my anger gets the best of me at times, so I apologize for my previous statements.

Horrible customer service!!
Sat on hold over 15 minutes to report a power outage, only to have the girl answering the phone hang up on me....5/3/20, at 4:17pm.
I am SURE! There are better people to do her job!!
