We have really enjoyed our stay here at Lake Whitney. The sites are nicely treed and the way they are situated make them pretty private too. The lodge near the lake is good, the pool looks good though it was closed most days because of weather so we didn't use it. However, both the pool and hot tub are kept very clean. We were in A - pullthrough section. There are quite a few sites in this section without sewer connections, so a honey pot is a good thing. Saying that, the shower house is centrally located and also clean. The lake trail is lovely! The main road through the park needs some work, so make sure you go slow! They do try to maintain it filling holes with a clay-like substance. It helps, but ideally would be great to have much of the road resurfaced. Staff is great at check in too! Very helpful for restaurants, etc. in the area. We don't have anything bad to say about the park and would definitely return! The park is also a very easy in from the highway!

Quiet campground. Bathrooms were clean and the park was well maintained. The D loop had the least potholes and nearest to the entrance. Lots of shade in each site. Pay attention to water runoff as some sites don't drain as well as others. The stitchin' shack has an amazon hub locker 5 min away, friendly people.

Spent 2 weeks with my family here in January. Was cold, but not much you can do about that. We enjoyed some of the hikes and the kids loved the mini golf. The sites are pretty well spaced out and beautiful in the woods. The bathrooms were fine, showers were hot, and clean enough. We would definitely come back especially since this is inside of our thousand trails membership. Full recommend! It was a bit odd that they had you pull through to go pick out and find your campsite, but they were not able to tell you which ones had functioning electric hook ups, so you had to test to make sure before you finalized your choice. A lot of sites were down.

Definitely stay here again. The cabin was cute and perfect for what we needed for the weekend. The lake is beautiful. The guy who ran the office this weekend was so nice and funny. We will definitely come stay again this time with the whole family! So much to do there!

Another of my favorite Texas campgrounds . Very rustic Park in a natural setting. Some complain about the roads , but it's not an interstate it's a lot of up an down and turns. If you travel the park speed limit it's just fine. There's about any amenitie that you could want. And the staff is very helpful and pleasant.

This is, by far, the best thousand trails property we've been to. It felt more like a state park (which we prefer). Very quiet, spacious, and lots of trees. It wasn't crowded. Kids enjoyed the playground. Pools looked nice though it was winter when we were there. Laundry was clean and took credit cards. Beautiful trails. If we are ever back in the area, we will be back.

Beautiful private sites. Lake not accessible. Bad roads but this place makes up for it Totally. Birds singing fish jumping. Excellent for your ATV's having big fun. We're going swimming & boating at Loafers Bend Corps of Engineers Park. Better than the state park which had a sunken pontoon boat & rough water.

Nice shady place to camp! My girls really enjoyed the pool and playing mini golf and all the other fun games outside! They ended their night with popcorn and movie in the front! The three guys in the front were wonderful that night helping us with everything we needed! Great job and great customer service!! :)

There are nice walking trails, game room, movie theater room, and plenty to do for children. There is a small gym here down by the laundry area. Loved the dog park, they have toys there for dogs, along with what looks like fresh water every day.
Weather got colder and the campground sent to text message to pet everyone know. Thought that was awesome!
Now the not so good stuff. A bit disappointed from the time we went to check in. We sat there at the front desk for over a half hour waiting for someone to check us in. There was no one there, but there was a radio that had a note to call for assistance. Which we did and got nothing for 20 minutes, finally someone answered and said they would be there in a few minutes, which ended up being over 10 minutes. When she finally came in, she made us feel like we were an inconvenience to her. Never went over any of the paperwork, just said to drive around and find a site. Which we reserved a 50 amp and was told there was none. We got out paperwork and drove around for again over a half hour to find a site. Campground is in of some repair, from pot holes to fences to bad electrical. We finally found a site and got all hooked up. The Site is a little tight but that's ok, we had great neighbors.
The wifi..... plenty of access points but not set up correctly. (Know this cause thatvwheat my husband does for work) we paid for the wifi package but ended up using the hotspots on our phones.
Went to the front desk and the guy behind the counter was extremely nice, even went over all our paperwork. He was so friendly!

My second TT campground and it was perfect! There are some great trails. Showers are very clean, certainly dated, but that has no effect on the quality and cleanliness. Perfect! The staff was absolutely wonderful. The site was not level at all, but, they were making a ton of upgrades and improving the sites. Look forward to my next visit there, as I suspect many more sites will be updated.

Friendliest staff here (shout out to Melissa and Sue-Ellen), and the campgrounds has so much potential - which they're continually upgrading and maintaining. We came here for the tennis and was disappointed when we saw that the tennis court was locked due to some careless vandalism by previous campers. Management heard our plea and opened it the court up and ordered a new tennis net for us.

Pam is wonderful and so is the staff. They have done a lot of improvements to the buildings and the campsites. We love coming here. For a long weekend, or even 10 days. We always have fun and have made some wonderful memories. This isn't a KOA with paved sites, but it is set in a very nice, heavily treed, rustic setting. I love that there is some room between the campsites, unlike most KOA's and other campgrounds. Our 4 kids always have plenty to do here between the newly renovated mini golf, shuffle board, volleyball, tennis courts, basketball courts, horse shoes, lake access, trails, breakfast cafe, events that the wonderful staff host such as "candy bingo", ice cream social, popcorn and coffee, football games on the big screen. This place has it all and it's great that my 16 and 14 year old enjoy the amenities just like my 5 and 2 year old. There is truly something for everyone here.

We've stayed at probably 6-7 Thousand Trails and this one is our favorite. Only one other one even comes close.

Again, they have made a lot of updates and this campground is much nicer then it was when we joined over 3 years ago. So if you haven't been here in awhile, I'd suggest giving it another try. And if you've never been here, my family and I think you will truly enjoy it!

This is definitely a Thousand Trails Resort. It’s located just 30 minutes from Waco Texas. The sites are large and private. There’s plenty to do here. The park has two swimming pools, tennis court, and a basketball court. There is a place to fish with many hiking trails. There is WiFi throughout the park, but you must pay. If you go to the main office or laundromat you can use the WiFi for free. The roads throughout the park need repair, but it’s camping, not the Hilton. They do not allow regular standard mail, but will except UPS and FedEx. They do charge $5 for receiving mail. They do have 50 amp at a charge of $3 a day. I will definitely be back!

Very nice Thousand Trails RV park. The clubhouse which is upfront has a great theater room, convenient store, check-in, WiFi and sales offices. There is also a nice pool and putt-putt upfront. There’s a two-story lodge in the back of the RV park that has the gym, laundry, rec room, pool, air hockey, fuss-ball, shuffle board are all down stairs. The upstairs has a great deck, sitting area to watch tv, WiFi, two big tables to play games or work puzzles on and a library. The second updated pool is also at the lodge in the back of the park. There’s only a couple of cons with this park. Your phone signal will not be the best but they are installing poles this weekend (9/14/19) to put up WiFi throughout the park. So that will help out a lot. Also the roads are in need of a lot of repair but this is such a huge park I can’t imagine what that cost would be to repair 400 acres of roads. Seems like if the park isn’t at capacity they could shut down the middle part of the park and then concentrate the money on the front of the park and the back where the lodge is. As a new member of Thousand Trails I do appreciate the upgrades and the effort put forward everyday to make this park as nice as possible.

Everyone is so helpful and each time we rent a cabin we always feel we are at our second home. Thousand Trails has been a part of our life both camping with our rv and renting cabins. Everyhing here is always well maintained and we love the adult pool and hot tub at the adult lodge. It is quiet and restful. We have not retired yet, but as empty nesters we love all the amenities like their credit card laundry which is air conditioned and right by the adult pool.

So far everything has been great. Beautiful area, great service, they called to check on us on the drive in. Getting 5er parked at night can be a bit of a challenge. Tons of trails, lake access, playgrounds, a lot of activities every day. Going to take a look around more and will update if changes needed.

I learned how to swim here in 1987, in the main pool when I was 3. I spent nearly every single summer here with my grandparents and met many wonderful people. On really rainy years and with the right conditions you can catch 100 lightning bugs in a jar with ease, no lie... Great trails, and some that I and other people carved. I haven't been since about 2009, when I was there, it looked pretty good. Pad were all new and the thru pulls were flat and wide. 30A service in places only E section is or was the best. Soft water in the bath houses. Fishing SUCKS being a core of engineers lake and no dock.. 300 yards to get to water. Lake can be stagnant in places near park.. We also frequented the Lake Medina and Lake Conroe, Thousand Trails and all equally exceeded in the RV park needs. This being said the parks are becoming rented nooks and bnb's. RV's, I think are on the outset of Thousand Trails mindset..

Loved Lake Whitney RV Park! Beautiful spacious spots separated by trees. Great hiking trails and clean bathhouse. Close to Waco, so lots to see and do. Brittany was especially helpful with suggestions and recommendations. Would love to return here!
