Wow. Just wow. Best chicken fried steak I’ve ever had. And that’s saying something as I’ve been eating chicken fried steak regularly for over 50 years…. Have cut fries are just like my Grandma used to make. And the best fried okra I’ve eaten since my Mama passed away. You owe it to yourself to give the Cove a try.

Neat little out of the way place. There are cabins and have a nice lunch. I don't think you go there to eat the rabbit food. Your cardiologist won't be happy because there is a lot of fried food on the menu and it is good. For starters we had chicken fried bacon. Never have seen the before. It comes with cream gravy. The breading was wonderful. Fridays are all you can eat catfish. I ordered the two piece dinner. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife had chicken fried steak. The catfish waa better. She had fried okra. It was freash cut. Very tasty. Big portions here you won't go away hungry. The staff was very courteous and helpful.

Love this cute little spot! People were friendly food was wonderful and reasonably priced, I would have loved to have tried the homemade peach cobbler but they were out! And did i mention the view breathtaking! We will definitely be back! We shared a plate and ate every bite! Really good

Just keep at it with the drive in...lol, you'll get there! Had Catfish dinner for two. The poppers were also delicious. The atmosphere was fantastic, they had just decorated for the Christmas season. The staff was friendly and attentive. The whole setting of the grounds, the cottages, and the restaurant next to the pool was just enchanting! What a gem of a place! !

Had a wonderful meal tonight- fried catfish, grilled catfish, chicken fried steak, & patty melt. Will definitely be back when we're in the area! And, beautiful setting!

Best burger I’ve ever had!!! Nothing can beat how fresh the burger tastes and the hand cut fries that you know you’re getting real potatoes and not some processed stuff. I’m not even a burger person and it got me!!

Ate outside on such a beautiful day today. The restaurant sits right near a cliff overlooking the lake. We had the fried shrimp and the grilled catfish, and both were cooked amazingly! That shrimp was so nice and crispy. Make sure to get them with a side of fried okra, very tasty as well. The chef definitely knows what they're doing. I wasn't really a fan of the soft, dark fries, but that's just personal preference. They weren't cooked badly, just differentIy. I'll definitely be back whenever I'm in the area again.

I gave this Cafe 5 stars because the food was terrific. We ate catfish and you better be hungry to get the two piece filets.I never had any this big. French fries, Cole slaw, salad and baked potato all wonderful. The staff was great also. I enjoyed the atmosphere and even the drive down to it from the state park. They don't have hush puppies but that doesn't lower score for me..........enjoy🙂

I’m so glad we found this cute spot. It’s a hidden gem in Whitney. We decided to come here to have a nice Easter dinner and it was perfect. We’ll be back again, especially since we live just 10 minutes away🤷🏼‍♀ 👍

Loved the view and the food was delicious! If you leave hungry it's your fault. We had the fish special and it was good. We noticed others having chicken fried steak and chicken fried bacon. I may have to try the bacon next time.

Chicken fried steak is sublime. Creepy driver to get to the cafe but well worth it.

This place and the food are well worth the drive(its not bad at all) some whine about. Three orders of CFS that were perfectly cooked and flavored. Sides ordered; steak fries(fresh and perfect), green beans(flavored just right), mashed potatoes(not instant). Great atmosphere and view of the lake. When finished take a walk down by the lake.

Ok the drive is half the fun of getting there. Make one wrong turn and be prepared to add some time on the trip. It is more than worth it thoughh. It is real Texas comfort food. My wife had the Chicken Fried Chicken and I went with the smothered chicken. The sides are top notch and compliment the entrees perfectly. Will I go back, sure will it is worth the time and the atmosphere of the place takes you backk 40 years. Oh did I mention the view of the lake, just another bonus.

This restaurant has a pool, and is set on a beautiful view of Lake Whitney. I haven't had southern comfort homecooking like this in along time.

Outstanding food I had fried catfish with homemade fries and fresh made coleslaw, hubby had chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes andfried okra. The road getting to it was rough but well worth it. We will be back next time we come to Lake Whitney.

Our party had both the fried catfish and the grilled. They were both delicious and will have us coming back for more!!!!

OMG, Food was absolutely delicious, 2 HUGE Breaded Catfish fillets, 4 GI-normous Breaded Shrimp, Okra & Baked potato. This was one of the choices under combo platters. Service was excellent too !! A little hard to find, but well worth the trip !!

We went and had breakfast for the 1st time. Pam the owner was who waited on us and she was delightful. I had the everything omelet. Was delicious. The view is amazing.
