Money Creek Campground

Great camping spot. If you camp along the river, the river will lull you to sleep. There's a grade-level railroad crossing so don't be surprised by the train horn at all hours.

The camp host is incredibly friendly and kind, giving stickers to the kids.

It was a very nice get away from the daily grind. Its was easy to plan a trip here at Money Creek Campground. My Husband and I came up to check out the site as it had been a few years since we were here last. Ryan our host was very knowledgeable and helpful with our accommodations to ensure we would choose the best one for us. As well for us to have an amazing stay. I booked our reservations online 3 weeks earlier to ensure we got the site number we chose. I had no problems with the website. Clearly the instructions were very simple and took but minutes. We booked our stay from the August 27th to 31st.
I did receive an email 2 weeks prior too our arrival date, updating us that a burn ban was now in effect and no firewood, or charcoal can be used at this time. Only allowing propane usage for fires, lighting and cooking.
We were able to borrow from a couple of friends a fire ring to keep us warm during the early mornings and after dinner to keep us warm at night, and a Blackstone flat top stove to cook our amazing breakfast and dinners.
It did rain which made one of the days a bit chilling. But the fire ring still kept us cozy.
The campground is very spacious and other campers are not directly close or next to you. You can see them but with some distance.
We had our own access to the river. Just a lil climb to get down to the river side. I ended up making a dirt staircase to make it safer and alot easier to go down.
There is enclosed bathrooms. No lights or running water. Out around the camp site they do have drinking water spickets, and grey water dump area. They do have big trash receptacles with bear locks on them. Which are heavy for even me to get open. Gotta use your muscles for sure.
Over all this campground is great. I will warn you though. Trains go right beside the backside of the campground and are very loud. Ryan our host came by to let us know we can stay a bit longer if needed today as noone was scheduled till tomorrow. He was also grateful for the dirt staircase I made to go down to the river. Ryan and Rebecca his Wife are great Hosts and hope they will be there again when we make plans to stay again.
Definitely will be back again.

My family camped here in august and absolutely loved it. Perfect time of the year for a camping trip here if you want to dip your toes in the river, it will actually be warm enough for that around this time of the year. We had spot 18 and had no issues, we did hear the cars honking as they went into the tunnel while passing on the hwy across the river but it made us laugh each time and ended up googling it. It’s a pretty funny reason. The train didn’t bother us one bit, nature surrounding it and the hikes just a drive away in the area make it a great place to camp. As well as little towns not too far from here make it an easy not to far away from home place to camp yet still beautiful and relaxing.

I camp at these state facilities all the time for 40 years. Money Creek had one of if not the nicest camp hosts I have encountered. This spot is beautiful, close to many activities and the water is clean and fresh year round. Lots of birds here and butterflies in May or June. The toilets were clean and so was camp. Highly recommend.

Due to the mountain loop highway/Gold Basin being closed we a found new destination for spring and summer outings. Learned that it's actually a snowshoe destination in the winter and there's lots and lots of trails everywhere.

One of the better campgrounds I have stayed at. Great scenery. So close to some great hiking trails and the Index Wall for climbing. Clean, friendly hosts, would definitely recommend.

I love this place. River is right next to the camping site. There is restrooms but no shower.

Beautiful campground in the Cascades. Camp host Ryan does a marvelous job in maintaining the site.

A resumption of our almost annual camping trip with family. We always use the same campsite. It’s great to let the kids play in the river, and the toilets were much cleaner than in years past.

You will hear the train rumble through at all hours, and it seems to like to sound the horn at the campsite, but it’s not a big deal.

A highly recommended place for a casual couple of days of camping.

Beautiful spot on our trip. The river is amazing, the train is a plus. The town closest is a great spot for historical timeline.

I have camped here for decades and decades. One of my most fav places in all the U.S. - site 8 has its own mini forest, trails, train right next to it, and mini prive beach without a cliff (only one). (We have it most of Summer 2020 - YA!!!) Internet (yours) Cell Signal 5 bars. Water from tap onsite.

New camp hosts, waaay nicer. Unfortunately, the typical postings notifying of active Resident Bears were no where to be found, check all notice boards. Also the generic notices with phone number to report Bears is inaccurate and goes to a private residence.

When you can finally track down the number, the State does not answer and the "Mailbox is Full". Had to call after a Bear attack at our site (8) and others on morning of 27th.

Had to call my own family to bring Police and Firearms the following day when we returned from seeing a bear in downtown Skykomish, only to find a bear destroying our site, tent, and gear at noon on the 28th. We left with the remains of our gear under armed guard, after the bear tried again a few hours later to return to get us again. That's 3 x's in 30 hours.

The site and campground are DANGEROUS. We canceled the remaining 17 days we had booked through rest of season. I would NOT BOOK.

Trains are a little loud but we knew they would be.

Decent spot to camp, due to road closures almost No cars.

Pretty and convenient. There are not many campgrounds in this neck of the woods. But it sure would be nice if somebody'd go around and pick up the garbage. Cigarette butts, used toilet paper strewn about, all kinds of little bits of trash. I'm used to hosting sites being taken care of a little better.

Campsites are spaced nicely. You can see your neighbors in most sites at least on 1 side, but still a good distance. Several sites have what they call river "access" but more like river view. Some more accessible than others. River is loud, so is the train!

Very beautiful campground. Relatively close to recreational activities. Camp hosts.... amazingly friendly. Didn't mind the trains going by constantly... after the first couple times didn't bother us

The river is awesome and trees are huge. There is river access at some of the campsites but only a few. We just walked to the bridge where there is access. Potable water and places for dumping brown and grey water, or a portable toilet.

Went on line and booked months in advance never been there before but definitely going back.
