Everyone there was so joyful! Learned so many new things about the early 1900s! Got a free ice cream cone for doing a scavenger hunt!

This is a nice museum, lots of good history. So many things to see in a small museum. Things I've seen in the Montana Historical museum in Helena. I would say this place has a bunch of stuff you wouldn't see there though. I really enjoyed a room they had filled with train🚂photos and items. They even had photos of the old train depot 🛤 in Butte which is now the KXLF building.

Amazing collection of local artifacts! The curators here have done a fabulous job of collecting and presenting a broad swath of history from the area. We went in expecting a display or two and instead spent over two hours with Ron, one of the museum's volunteers, as he walked us through over a dozen rooms full of impressive and rare collections, photographs, and written archives. Whether you live local or are stopping by from afar, expect to dedicate some time to exploring and appreciating all there is to see in this unassuming building. Also of note, this museum is entirely volunteer-based and donation funded, so consider a contribution if you enjoyed your visit as much as we did!

We had an incredible experience. Souch to see and for such a small town the upkeep and history they have there is amazing. We had a very nice gentleman named Roy show us around and he was a treat. He grew up in the area and knew something about everything.

If you’re looking for a repository to get an idea of what it was like for early arrivals to the area, and to see actual clothing, furniture, farm implements and industrial apparatus from the past of Jefferson County, this is your one-stop-shop. Lots of interesting, hard to find, one-of-a-kind artifacts here. The curators have done a spectacular job of recovering items as well as securing donations from descendants of the longtime families in the area. A great visit for seeing well-kept items, and for doing research of you have family that came and scratched out their livings here.

This museum has so many antique relics that you can see up close - and not behind glass. I felt transported back in time, because I could see and smell the history. The volunteer who gave me a tour actually demonstrated how some of the items worked: a victrola, an adding machine, and his own slide rule that he had donated. It's a very personable museum!

Arlene is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable host. Please take time to stop in and donate. Wonderful delight for adults and kids. Ask about hauntings, there may be a story.
