This is an amazing hike with beautiful views of the Rio Grande Valley, Placitas and up to Santa Fe. Take the trail split clockwise for the best views. Anything beyond 1 mile will start up with more elevation. Taking the loop counterclockwise is basically 1 mile straight up 1,100 feet. There is a cool cave and a stream on this route. There is little to NO signs for these trail splits. This should be the go to hike for the area. Maybe someday they’ll add directional signage and a few benches to sit and enjoy the views.

This is a great hike! Did the loop ("Tunnel Springs Loop" on AllTrails) with my dog on a Monday and saw no other people (just one other car in the parking area). I'm glad I took others' recommendations to do it counter-clockwise and to have a high-clearance vehicle for the rutted road to the trailhead (has trashcans & bathrooms). Steep uphill for the first mile, then gentle downhill the rest of the way. No sign markers, so make sure your map is downloaded.

Went counterclockwise and it's a good thing because it was rocky and steep going up. Nice hike. The views are great. The trail is very narrow! Would do this one again!

Go to the left starting of the trail. Then you get a slight increthen it's all down the hill after that.

About a 5 mile loop overall. The Agua trail portion is steep with loose rocks, but it's also shaded/woody. Up to you if you want to do it first or last!

Wonderful trail with great views North, West and South! Some areas are very rocky and recommend taking a right at the loop. Easier to traverse rocky and steep part of trail that goes up thousand feet plus

A little rough road getting there but they are improving it as I write this. Trailhead has vault toilets, trash can and regulations/ information one sided kiosk. Springs were running good. Great view of Placitas!

First time here. Easy to find off of the main road in Placitas. Turnoff is just east of the Fire Station. I didn't complete the hike due to rain but will be back. Amazing views of the Placitas area and the Rio Grande valley.

This was a beautiful loop with plenty of extra add- on's. Great views, quiet, choices & off the beaten path.

Nice and secluded place to stargaze. Be careful about bears though.
