My son and I just returned from a 4 night stay at the Stonefly Lodge. We arrived very late due to a flight delay. Jeff met us at 1AM to make sure we got into our room and we had everything we needed. The entire staff went above and beyond to make certain everything in their control exceeded our expectations. Our guides did everything in their power to put us on fish and then it was up to us to set, fight and get them to the waiting net. The food was incredible, the accommodations were great and everyone was welcoming & friendly!

If you are considering and Montana fly fishing trip you can't go wrong a the Stonefly! If you want your trip to be successful listen to your guide, leave your ego at home and just enjoy the river your on!!

I just had the opportunity and pleasure of spending 4 days at the lodge with a group who have been clients of Rooster's for a long time. It was an unbelievable experience. The scenery is breathtaking, the fishing is in the heart of Montana's blue ribbon trout streams, and the experience and services provided by Rooster, his staff and his guides are simply the best. From the outstanding meals to the quality of the lodge and rooms to the overall coordination and customer service, the entire operation is top notch.

I just spent the 2,3,4 at The Stone Fly Inn. If you are looking for a genuine Montana experience, you have to spend a few days here. Rooster runs a top notch guiding lodge. The rooms were clean as a whistle, the chef Glen prepared excellent food, the front office gal Tiffany was sweet as honey and Rooster put us on the fish with plenty of laughs and excitement as well as captured excellent photography of our adventure. I highly recommend staying at The Stoney Fly Inn for a very memorable Montana fly fishing vacation.

I work there, the staff is friendly. Dan aka Rooster is the head honcho. He has the best guides to take you on our rivers. The rooms are clean, comfortable and in the evening after a great meal you can sit around the pit or just enjoy the scenery. A great place to enjoy yourself. Come and see for yourself you won't be sorry.

I Head to see Rooster, and more importantly Holly, McCall and the rest of the crew, every summer. Sure the fishing is fantastic, but the crew that supports you is top notch. Highly recommended and I can't wait to be there in July.

Brutal temps and beleaguered fishing. Don’t even want to calculate cost per fish landed! Good guides who deserved good tips. Keep them hunting elk, wolves, deer, and lion in the fall!
