Pistol River State Scenic Viewpoint

Climbing up and down those dunes was no joke! Absolutely gorgeous place few people explore. ❤ There are no restrooms or trash cans, so please plan accordingly. I picked up a lot of trash while there, but am NOT touching all the toilet paper laying around! 🤢

This is a beautiful beach with a nice walk through or over sand dunes.

Easy walk down a dune to a long beach. Tide was coming in so there were some areas that became inaccessible.

One of my favorite beaches along the oregon coast.

The Pistol River viewpoint was a great little spot to stop and enjoy the scenery. We went on the day after valentines day and it was pretty empty of people. There was however an abundance of sea gulls looking cute on the sand.

Nothing really negative to say about this location. Although I can say, be careful out on the sand bar... we were walking around not really paying attention and a large wave came over the top of the bar and got us good.

Overall we just laughed it up and kept on enjoying the location albeit with wet feet.

The sand here is really fun to shoot as a photographer. The jagged rocks along the beaches are amazing to shoot for photographers. And, if you're really lucky, you can catch things entering the atmosphere. (See photos)

A fantastic place to be very peaceful and to enjoy the pure waters and magical dunes.

Take all of your cares to this place and leave them all behind.

Both times I came here I saw some curious sea otters that followed me up and down the beach from a distance. Wide open beach!

This is part of the Oregon Coast trail. It goes from forest to ocean. Wonderful Lola Lake Loop that has a great trail.

Beautiful spot to pull off and enjoy the view. The ocean is close by and sometimes you can watch kite boarders here.

First stop as we reach Oregon on our trip up the coast, what an amazing entry and welcome spot to pull over and enjoy all that the west coast has to offer.

Great spot to tidepool at negative tides. Can get busy on weekends or when hot. Ramp goes all the way down to the sand if someone needs access.

Beautiful beach but can be super windy during the days.

And this place is a mile or south of the Myers Creek beach at the south end of Cape Sebastian, a great beach to ride.

So beautiful with sunset! A must see!

I was the only one there it was amazing the way the wind whipped the scouring sand across my skin reminding me of volatility of life. The waves crashed and grasped at me, trying to reclaim my evolutionary legs but I stood a tad too far. I loved it.

Rare day with calm wind and glassy surfing conditions. This area provides all beach goers with everything you would want and more. Highly recommend it to anyone who loves mother ocean and her surroundings. 🤙🌊
