I’ve only had contact with one Sheriff and he was a great guy! He stood out in the dark, pouring down rain for at least an hour with me after I had put my car in a ditch. I’m new to Coos County and he made me laugh and he made me feel safe! I didn’t catch his name but he was my hero that night. 😘

A Coos County Deputy: helped me out today. I was stuck in the sand. His name was Sergeant Will Coleman. He was polite, courteous and extremely helpful. Thank you very much.

Ran into a couple of your guys and they were super awesome and friendly. While they could have cited us for trespass, they instead made it a humorous situation and said to leave by morning. They were very nice about it though.

i have worked with this office on numerous occasions, as i own many properties, i have found them to be prompt (despite budgeting restraints), courteous, imformative, one of the things i like best, is they try to find , sensible solutions to resolve issues, just remember, they are there to enforce the laws, that protect our citizenry, and at times those same laws, is what ties there hands, in what they can to protect our rights, and unfortunately those same laws that we abide by, is what the criminal element hides behind, so in reality, that responding , officer, daily, has to the walk that fine line, of what is morally right, and what the law allows, keep that in mind , when the outcome, is not neccesarily what you desired

Monday 13, 2018 I had to call the Sheriff's office to report vehicles blocking my drive. This was so minor a complaint i did not expect a response. it was important to me but I did not expect the sheriff's office to devote much energy to it. To my surprise a sheriff's deputy arrived within ten minutes, talked to the vehicle's owners and after he left all of the vehicles were moved. Nice to know that even small problems get quick attention. Many thanks

I’ve never experienced such a horrible department. Harassing companies, tourist and even throwing citations in the face of the citizens. Fails to enforce a legal “no trespass” bullies innocent citizens and violates their rights. I’ve talked with other Sheriff Departments in other counties and they said this behavior is unacceptable! They encouraged me to file a report with the Salem offices. These uneducated, untrained and unprofessional dirty cops need to be stopped from these actions. This is a perfect example as to why we don’t trust or like police anymore. Good job Coos County!

I will not name any names, but the way we were treated and the laziness I experienced with this department is so disheartening. Long story short, a family member was missing, I reported them missing ( they are fine now thank goodness, but didn't know at the time). There was a lot of shady stuff that had occurred with the disappearance. While I did get help from some of the staff, the sheriff assigned to the case was dispicable. I reported it on his "friday", and instead of the case passed to the next officer on duty, it wasn't touched for 4 days. I was told to follow up with the officer when he was back on duty, only to be dismissed the second I talked to him. I would ask him questions, only to have him respond with "Ma'am, its my monday", over and over again. Thank god we were able to to solve this situation our selves, with no help from the sherrif. I feel awful for the next family that needs help, hopefully they will get a sheriff who actually seems to care.

Reported a restraining order being broken by messages. When officer showed up messages stopped when he left they started again but with death threats this time. The officer went back. Called me 45 min later to tell me he knows the guys meth addict friend and has to believe him and not the evidence I sent him on his own phone. Wow thanks for making us feel protected. Nice knowing we can count on you to take a meth addicts word. I have no faith in our officers at this point. Sad very sad.

They answered the phone,,, they will not deal with an extremely loud dog at 10 o'clock at night in lakeside. I was told I can have my deputy call you. We will only send animal control tomorrow.
To protect and to serve... I guess not.
