I was looking for a restaurant I went years ago and I was not able to find it however we found this one and we were not disappointed. Sushi was fresh. Flavor was on point and service was OK. The service was a bit slow at some points but it’s because the server was busy around the restaurant cleaning and attending other tables. Overall it was a good experience. I would come back to this place.

Love this place. Never a disappointment. They can get busy, so be patient, but it's worth it. We've been fans for over ten years and you just can't find a better group of people that really take care of their customers. I've come in with a sore throat and they've made lemon honey tea because they could hear it in my voice. Who does that? They do! Jasper, Sony, Paul, Flor, Kenny, Roberto, and on and on...great crew. Again, they get busy, be patient.

I was mightily impressed with that sashimi deluxe entree. Very good quality fish and excellent presentation. Prices were very reasonable. It's kind of a family friendly atmosphere so it can be a little noisy, but the food quality makes it worth visiting.

Stopped for lunch on a Saturday. They are open for indoor dining. We sat at the sushi bar and shared a sushi & sashimi deluxe dinner. This includes a shrimp tempura roll. My daughter had some beef fried rice and a salad. The sashimi was cut and prepared beautifully! My daughter loved her fried rice and her salad. Everything was fresh and delicious.
As I was photographing the wine bar I was intrigued by the miniature sushi house on the shelf. One of the staff excitedly took it down to show us. It was hand made by a customer that does miniatures and took two people over 30 hours to make! It even has power lights.
A great experience dining here! Their sushi is among the best!

Best teriyaki in Stafford. The bento meals are a fantastic deal, especially everything you get for the dinner version, and it's delicious even taken to-go. The rolls are amazing and when dining in the service is great. We love trying the sake and come here a couple times a month at least.

We come here regularly! Jasper and his staff are always super friendly and inviting. The food is second to none, the quality of their sashimi is of the highest! Very creative presentations and always delicious!

I've had sushi in Asia, Europe, and all over north America and this place is legit. If you're ordering off the menu you're doing it wrong. Sit down at the sushi bar, tell the chef what you do and don't like and he will whip up some magic for you. IDK what he made but it was the best roll I've had. They take the time to do things right and obviously take pride in their food. 5/5 will be back highly recommend.

Umi's is truly exceptional. The food is absolutely top notch. I've been there dozens of times over several yeas and never had a bad meal. In fact I've never had anything but a great meal.

"The best seat in the house is at the bar watching Jasper work his magic." Jasper always has a smile on his face and is happy to see you. Ask him for pics of his kids and his pup. He asks you what flavors you like and will custom build you special rolls that aren't even on the menu.

The restaurant seating is plentiful and comfortable. The restrooms are clean, well stocked and well maintained. The staff are friendly, courteous, and attentive.

This is our new go-to spot since moving here. The food has been absolutely incredible every single time. We’ve been to a few in the Stafford/Fredericksburg area and they don’t come close to Umi’s quality. My husband gets the sashimi and is always impressed by how fresh it is and their selection.

I went and had a really good time! The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff were very polite. Our server was extremely quick about the service and made sure to check up on us through the meal. I ordered a avocado roll, California roll, and a red snapper tempura mango roll and each of them were delicious! I also added a miso soup and it's great, not too salty. Would definitely come back here again!

Amazing sushi! I'm originally from Hawai'i, so I'm picky about my sushi. This place is consistently fresh (myself & husband have gone 5X within 6mths). The restaurant is clean & the servers are always attentive.

The chefs at the sushi restaurant are highly skilled and every piece of sushi is exquisite and delicious. Very professional and we love it here!

The wife and I go here 1-4x a month. And sometimes when I'm in Freddy I'll go to the Umi there for lunch.

Consistent, service is almost always perfect and friendly (ask for Kylie if she's on, super nice).

The lunch and dinner bento boxes are my #1 recommendation. We always take home boxes after ordering them.

Out of all the sushi places around us (Kobe, Umi, Sake), we decided this is the fairest price for its food. Sobe is the worst tasting, but usually the cheapest, and Kobe is the most expensive with the sushi being hit or miss (but the hibachi is always great there).

Umi is a solid choice and recommended if you can't decide on which sushi place to go to.

I had the miso soup, a dragon roll and a Godzilla roll. Best sushi I have had in the DMV area. Giant tuna head was a bonus! I know the tuna is fresh! Staff was friendly. Finished my meal with green tea. Definitely coming back.

Delicious food and great service. The Megan Roll sounds overwhelming, but it's really good!

Umi Japanese Cuisine is one of my favorites and I am so happy to see the dining room reopening. Delicious food, fabulously presented. Wonderful just wonderful! A great place to bring friends!

I was pleasantly surprised. A Japanese friend and I came here for sushi and we were impressed! We both spent recent years in Japan. The sushi was pretty good and decently priced. The dumpling soup and squid salad was also great. And tempura was delicious.
I'll be back! For two of us with 3 rolls And 3 appetizers, we spent under $55 which is a deal these days.

My boyfriend and I have been to Umi in Stafford several times. We like sitting at the bar in front of the chefs. They are great about customizing sushi rolls for us. We tell them what we like and let them get creative. Great experience! The staff is always very friendly. The restaurant is clean. We'll be back.

The Fantasy Roll is AMAZING!!! Great food and the service is excellent!!!
