We’ve been going to The Depot for years; to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, Mother and Father’s Day…pretty much any kind of celebration we can celebrate, The Depot is our go-to restaurant. The service is good, the atmosphere is interesting and the food is sublime. I felt like there was a bit of a hiccup when ownership was transferred, and wasn’t too happy with what I felt was a culinary blip in time, but, having been back a few times to see if things had improved, I am happy to say I feel like they have!
So, let’s talk about the food!
The Clam Chowder is wonderfully flavorful and clammy! It’s not a thick chowder, but a sublime broth that wakes up your tastebuds and gets your tummy going for the next course ahead! The perfect way to whet your whistle!Don’t forgo the chowder.
My husband always orders the Ribeye Steak with garlic mash potatoes. It fills him up and satiates his caveman carnivore persona. He is always pleased with the sear of the steak and the accompanying potatoes are heartily enjoyed.
This time around I ordered the Seared Scallops on puréed butternut squash, with apples and radishes. What a happy plate of food! I was nervous about the radish part, but they were so sweet and yummy, I couldn’t taste a hint of any bitter radish. The smooth squash paired beautifully with the Scallops, who were truly the star on the plate. Dare I say old Gordon Ramsey would have been proud, I’m sure! I snarfed up the entire plate, and the best part is, I wasn’t overstuffed. The portion size was perfect. A wonderful, lighter dish than my usual go to, which is the Southern Comfort Pork. Now THAT is a perfect plate of food for a cold, wet PNW day. Oh my, it is so good! Make sure to try the pork at least once…..and if it’s cold and rainy. Mmmmm!
Truly, you can’t go wrong with any of the offered fare at The Depot.
Take some time and get yourself over to the peninsula’s best hidden gem. The Depot is excellent.

This is by far the best restaurant in the Ilwaco/Long Beach area. It's a bit small and always packed, but otherwise a great space. All servers were friendly and always on top of drinks and any other needs. They have a great wine and drink selection. The food is spectacular and at a reasonable price for the quality. We had Peruvian Mango Sea Scallops for an appetizer, and they were everything! Melt in your mouth and amazing flavor. For entrees we had the ribeye special with mashed potatoes and veggies. The steak was so flavorful and tender, and cooked to perfection. Second entree was duck confit with wild rice and veggies. This is the best duck and wild rice I have had in a very long time. For dessert we had the toffee and brownie ice cream cake special. Definitely the best ice cream cake I have ever had. This restaurant will be a must visit anytime I'm in the area.

First time here and can’t wait to go back! The food and service was amazing. We had the chowder, crab Mac n cheese, Peruvian scallops, ling cod special, ribeye special and salted caramel brownie!

We had the Willapa Bay Oysters, Peruvian Mango Sea Scallops, Thai Calamari, French Onion Gratinee, Rib Eye Meatballs, and the Southern Comfort Pork. Every single item was incredible. We are already planning to come back and try some other items. We'll save room for dessert next time!

Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here! Several staff attended through the visit, but you didn’t feel like you were being passed off - you felt that everyone was attending to everything! Food was excellently prepared (pan fried oysters & entree spinach and scallops salad). Price might have been a tad high for straightforward oysters with sides, but they were delicious. We’ve been racking our brains trying to remember what we had for dessert… all we can remember is delicious! We will return to explore some more.

We sat in the covered outdoor seating last night and it was cozy. The servers were super attentive and polite. The food was the best I have had on our vacation this past week in the area. The salmon over rice pilaf with vegetables was so good and my husband had a delicious steak with mashed potatoes. Unfortunately they didn't have any sort of kids menu and only had sides and noodles for our 21 month year old. I would highly recommend this place for a date night!

Without exaggeration, we experienced the best meal we’ve had so far this year! Our app and entrées were dynamite. The flan was the best I have ever had. Our server was fun, engaging, and stopped by just often enough. This is a must try place!

My wife and I have been here several times before and knew it would be a great place to have a birthday dinner for my father-in-law. The service is exceptional. From the menu and fresh ingredients, to the atmosphere and care - this place is special.

Seriously one of our favorite places to eat! Everything is delicious so you can't go wrong with any choice...I've tried it all! The outside patio is warm and inviting, the chef's table is fun...but really there isn't a bad seat in the house! Great wine selection, cocktails and of course great beer...be sure to order something from North Jetty Brewing if you go!

$$$ I had the duck breast with cherry rice pilaf, came with mix of carrots, green beans and cauliflower. Delicious. Birding friend had the spring coho salmon special that she was quite pleased with. Portion size generous. Bread with olive oil balsamic vinegar dip that friend enjoyed somewhat more than I did. The balsamic could have been tangier and a bit more robust for me. Deserts we had - Salted Caramel Brownie and special Apple Crisp, both topped with ice cream, luscious and filling.

Every item we ordered was delicious. Our favorites were the clam chowder and mango Peruvian scallops. The clam chowder was a bit thinner than most but very creamy and buttery. If you like a very rich clam chowder this will be right your alley. The sauce in the mango Peruvian scallops was delicious and it would have been great to have some kind of bread or toast to sop up all the sauce.

Amazing ambiance. Amazing food. Vacationing here and The Depot was highly recommended. We give a 10/10 on everything we ordered and our server Adrienne was hands down the best! We will be back on our next vacation. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed. Would make a great date night spot and I highly recommend reservations. Thank you for wonderful dinner experience on our trip!

Decided to stop for an early dinner before heading to our hotel. Best decision ever! Had the house salad to start, the greens were crisp, the pear perfectly ripe, toasted walnuts and the dressing was lovely. We had the rib-eye special and the clams bucatini for our main. The rib-eye was so tender you could cut it with a fork, the flavor of the steak with the blue cheese was phenomenal! The clams were perfectly cooked, tender and the bucatini was seasoned to perfection. The Apple Cosmo and grasshopper pie were delish as well. Not one thing was off. We will definitely come back!

Halibut was delicious, polenta was wonderful, and the oysters were incredible. Downside was the table was very uneven, the beer was flat, and the meatballs were too seasoned to eat. Waiter was friendly except for when we asked if their polenta (not on the menu) was gluten free. I have an allergy and get sick very easily. He said he assumed so, it was corn. We just wanted to make sure the spices were safe. He acted a little condescending. Cute vibe though and good food.

We stopped in and realized this place is packed and reservations, even on a rainy February Sunday is a good idea

Luckily we were able to sit at the bar and meet all the wonderful staff.

I had the Rockfish special which had this amazing sauce. I didn’t want mashed potatoes and they happily substituted for me. My hubby had the steak special and it was PERFECT! We had the caramel brownie a la mode for dessert. With the tiny kitchen and how busy they were I was stunned how quickly our food arrived.

Sadly it was the second to last day of the owners selling it and retiring 😢 we felt blessed to chat with the owner that had such pride in their restaurant.

The new owners are expected to keep things status quo and the Chef and staff will all stay.

This was such a wonderful night and finish to our camping trip.

Great food! I started with the Wilted Spinach salad, which was good then had what my wife describes as the best French Onion soup she ever had and I also had the Rib Eye meat balls which were savory, tender and delicious. My wife loved the Peruvian Mango Sea Scallops and the Oysters 'scargot. She said they were amazing! To finish we had the Apple Cranberry Rum cake. Nicely spiced with sweet cream and topped with cream cheese. So good! Very enjoyable atmosphere as well.

Had a delicious dinner with my husband and sister in law - each meal was expertly prepared. Portions were generous and the atmosphere was friendly. Great place for couples/adults who want a nice quiet dinner experience.

Got the pleasure of visiting this little gem tonight. I don't know why I've been punishing myself by not doing this sooner. There simply aren't words. Just go there and get anything. Anything at all. It's all fantastic! I shall return to the depot.
