The Lamb Reuben was amazing, excellent fries, great drinks, and excellent service. Thank you Lenny! But, what really stood out, was the cook/chef coming out and asking us about our to go order and suggesting changes that would make it better for our drive home. Excellent service, thinking about the customers best experience… we truly appreciated it and did not expect it. Thank you!!

I was missing conditioner in my bathroom, I missed my morning shower. but the bed was really comfy. The bar downstairs had delicious food and very friendly, welcoming staff. I really like what this hotel brings to the area, it feels like home. Its a romantic little ocean spot, don't miss it.

Off the beaten path, Salt hotel and Pub is a gem you won’t believe you didn’t know about. It’s that cool!

The pub food is seriously fantastic, probably one of the best meals I’ve had in the Astoria Long Beach area. The rooms are simple and perfect. The waterfront is lovely. Highly recommended!

Kiddos loved the grilled cheese sandwiches, spinach and artichoke dip was also a hit. Great atmosphere particularly in the restroom upstairs fun decor. The gift shop in the lobby has unique treasures to remember your trip with or to entice friends and family to come with next time. Great view of the ships in the harbor, fantastic food flavor and well chosen and placed decor throughout.

Salt Pub is where we take guests when they are in town. We love the food and atmosphere. Very down to earth but the food is top notch! Rhoda is so nice to everyone and it really feels like you are part of the family when you sit down.

We didn't use the rooms but stumbled onto Salt Pub on a road trip looking for lunch and glad we did. The best Reuben sandwich and Shepherd Pie we have ever had. The location is beautiful, and the staff was amazing.

This review is for the pub only, not the hotel. This place is an absolute hidden gem that everyone should stop at when they're in the area. Heck, I'm even a believer that this is worth driving to just for a nice meal . Particularly, the polenta is one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life. I have no idea how they do it, but between the perfectly sauteed vegetables in an incredible sauce and the mixture of the polenta, it is life-changing. The rest of their food is also super good, we have yet to go wrong with ordering anything there.

Hey there fabulous peninsula folks and beyond and cheers from your friendly neighborhood peninsula foodie! What an absolutely gorgeous day we have here today to enjoy all that our little slice of heaven has to offer! With that, I decided to take my wife out to lunch at a place where the food and the atmosphere just seem to get better every time we go...down at the Ilwaco marina, the Salt Hotel & Pub Ilwaco. As they've always got a great selection of beers on tap I scooped up a pint of North Jetty Brewing Ledbetter Red Scottish Ale... one of my favorites!

For an appy we grabbed an order of their house made spinach dip, served with sourdough bread. This thing was a flavor bomb! So rich and creamy, it's filled with loads of freshly cooked spinach and cheeses. The toasty crust leaves a few little crispy bits to nibble off the edges too...yummy! Maybe next summer they'll add some Dungeness crab to it and send it even FARTHER over the edge with flavor! 🤩

My wife built her own lunch from a side salad (which was ginormous and looked absolutely fabulous) and an appetizer of the steamed mussels. The mussels were perfectly cooked in white wine, butter and aromatics and were served in a bowl of the most lively, lemon based broth.

I went out on a limb and ordered the "Dirty Reuben" sandwich. If you've seen my previous posts about Reubens then you already know the tenuous relationship I have with them...😂 Well, this isn't your grandpa's Reuben, let me assure you of that! It starts with a crumbly, yet stout dark rye bread that feels like it came out of some 500 year old brick oven. Layered on that is a house made "stout kraut", house made "dirty sauce", a blend of cheeses and the most tender corned lamb I've ever had. Oh yes, and that's all served with hand cut fries.

Now you're probably saying wait, did he just say lamb?? Yeah, I did. And it was amazing. Full stop! So tender and juicy, full of flavor, it's brined in stout beer and a concoction of seasonings that was discovered in some ancient cave on the island of Sardinia...😂 Seriously though, flavortown on display! I only finished half of that beast as it was just so stuffed full off gooey goodness. And that stout kraut! Forget about it! So good! Still crispy and soaked with all that flavor from the dark stout beer. The dirty sauce is a riff on thousand island dressing only.... like, way better. Not too much of it, and it's not too runny. Great addition to compliment the cheese blend that holds it all together on the bread! We did grab a fig crisp dessert on the way out just to have a little something sweet for later once all this food has settled!

The next time you're headed out and you want a great meal with fantastic views, head down to Ilwaco and go see the folks at The Salt! Grab a seat at the window, along the bar or even outside on the patio. Tell em the foodie sent ya! Until next time, cheers and beach appetit from your friendly neighborhood peninsula foodie! 🌊😎

I don't often do reviews, unless I'm just so impressed by a place that I can't contain the urge to spread my excitement to others. This place is a rare gem. We ate at the pub, and will definitely return to stay in their hotel as well.

There's a shortage of fresh, creative food in Astoria, so cross the river to soak in the charm of this sleepy little town and do not miss eating at Salt Pub. The menu is super creative, with both comfort food classics and inspired Northwest dishes to meet the needs of both health conscious eaters and folks looking for some comfort. Everything we got was fantastic, and we would order each of those things again. The seafood is fresh off the boat, each day's dishes being prepared with the catch of the day. The energy is fresh, and hip, and fun. The staff is super welcoming and friendly, and we left there already planning our next trip back. We got oysters, fish tacos, fish and chips, some excellent local beer, and the roasted vegetable salad. They were all wonderful, and that roasted vegetable salad is definitely a standout. If you're looking for a delicious bowl of fresh vegetables expertly prepared with delicate flavors that you'll want a second helping of (which I am forever in search of) that's definitely it. Can't wait to return!

We couldn’t have asked for a more memorable wedding day, and a huge part of that was thanks to Chef Vincent and his incredible catering crew at Salt Pub Ilwaco. From the moment we first met Chef Vincent, we knew we were in the hands of someone who truly cared about making our day special.

The food was nothing short of amazing. Every dish was not only so thoughtful, but also bursting with flavor. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the appetizers, the main courses, and of course, the dessert - it was all simply exquisite.

What truly stood out, though, was the level of personal attention and care that Chef Vincent and his team put into every detail. They made sure that our menu was tailored to our preferences and accommodated dietary restrictions for some of our guests without any hassle.

Beyond the food, Chef Vincent’s attention to detail and genuine enthusiasm were a true delight to experience throughout the planning process and on the big day. His professionalism and dedication made everything run smoothly, allowing us to fully enjoy our celebration.

We are incredibly grateful to Chef Vincent and the Salt Pub Ilwaco catering crew for making our wedding day so special and unforgettable. They turned our vision into reality, and for that, we can’t thank them enough. If you’re looking for not only exceptional food but also a team that genuinely cares about your event, Chef Vincent and Salt Pub Ilwaco are the perfect choice.

Beautiful spot with great food and great service. I got the fish and chips which is catch of the day based(rock fish that day) and it was amazing, perfect batter and wasn't oily or greasy. My son got the salmon burger and I've never had a fish burger feel and taste so meaty and taste so full of salmon and the salmon burger didn't taste/feel bready at all. I'm from Seattle, but I'll travel the four hours to come back here.

We dined here in April 2023 on a rainy evening and both my husband and I ordered the crab and shrimp mac and cheese! Wowzers! So good!!! So much flavor and loved the presentation!! I'm pretty easy to please on presentation though - ha. I was between two cocktails offered on the menu, so I let the bartender choose for me and boy was it fantastic! Everyone dining around us was enjoying their drinks and food, wasn't a face without a smile in the restaurant. We are looking forward to visiting again!

High and low tables and bar seating options. Indoor and outdoor seating. Lovely view!

There was a young toddler with a couple while we were there and it was completely pleasant, so I could this being family friendly.

Salt was exactly what you're hoping for in a small, refreshed coastal hotel. Character without pretense. Room was small, clean, and priced right. Restaurant is a bombshell, excellent food, cocktails, and service. Definitely one to remember.

Amazing place! Quaint and cultured, comfy and clean. We were overjoyed with our experience at the salt hotel. Awesome views. The rooms are so cozy we felt like we were at home. Super comfy beds and it was lovely and quiet. We will be making this a yearly destinational! Thank you for your hospitality! We even reserved late and they were very accommodating.

The Pub is fantastic 👌 definitely not your average "Pub Grub". Wow, I had the smoked salmon chowder and Hope had the Cubano sandwich on Gluten free bread. Great atmosphere by the port and the service by Rhoda was excellent 👏

Just had the greatest meal. I ordered the salmon fish & chips to go, with a Margarita 🍹while I waited. This is the first time I've eaten here, and I've really been missing out! Delicious! 😋 Great food. Great service. Great view of the fishing boats. Thank you for a wonderful meal. I'll definitely be back.

In the past I have enjoyed the view along with a great tasting catch of the day, which was albacore! The fish and chips was good but I felt like the pieces of fish where just a bit to big and the fish to chips ratio was off. The tartar sauce was excellent. Service was also totally awesome.
Update. Tried to get a table this morning but the refused to sit me outside because I was alone. They wanted to seat me at the bar. I was told the outdoor tables are reserved for larger parties. Kinda sad as I was one of the first customers in the door.
Sadly I am not likely to come back.
