The Inn at 161

What a wonderful find. Our room was wonderful number 8 it was big clean great fireplace. Only a 5 minute walk to town. Very clean. Love that we had a fireplace. We will definitely be back. I highly recommend this Inn

This was our 2nd time here and it was just as great as the first time we visited

My husband and daughters along with myself stayed for 2 nights. It really was quite nice. The only complaint I had was the sofa was painfully uncomfortable. However the 2 people ( Mary & Deb) who did all the cleaning and the check in, were wonderful.

I stayed 1 night and my room was More than I had hoped for! From the minute I checked in with Mary, I was impressed with her Professionalism...I had their Continental Breakfast and it was Delicious with lots of Muffins, Bagels, Yogurt Parfait...and the Tea Selection was Great! The best part of my stay was running into Deb..we went to high school together! I would highly recommend this Inn and will definitely stay again

Small, really comfortable hotel with excellent quality furnishings. We were given a free room upgrade, which we really appreciated. The host was super friendly and was really keen to ensure we had a great stay. The free continental breakfast was very good, with yogurt and berries being the highlight

We were looking for a quick getaway and came across The Inn at 161. Being midweek the rates were quite reasonable so we booked for one night.
We were greeted by our friendly host, checked in and told to come back down for our welcome glass of wine and charcuterie board which was excellent.
The room was lovely, spacious and spotless. Comfy bed and gas fireplace.
Our host was super nice, the continental breakfast was tasty and filling. I loved the yogurt parfait!
The grounds are lovely, a short walk from a historic old church where I enjoyed walking around the old cemetery.
Very close to downtown Sutter Creek and central to many other gold country towns.
We loved our stay here, ended up staying a second night, and plan to come back in the future.

We stayed for our first time this week in the amazing room with the jacuzzi tub for our 19th wedding anniversary. The place was immaculate, peaceful and a very short walk to restaurants, wine tasting and shopping. The host was really sweet and the complimentary breakfast was a nice touch. We will definitely be back!

This place is amazing! Beautiful rooms and a great location. The owner and staff are very courteous and friendly. They welcome you with wine and a cheese plate which was an amazing surprise. I will definitely be back. The only cons would be the proximity to the highway made it a little noisy from time to time and the WiFi was a little spotty but honestly nothing that changed my mind about coming back! Check it out if you want a beautiful, relaxing room in a quaint town.

Family came to town and stayed at this place. We went to visit and go hiking around there. Very nice rooms. Friendly staff. I would definitely book a room and stay here.

I'm just going to say.... We can't stop talking about our stay here at 161!! We decided last minute to get away for Christmas 🎄 ☃ and booked 2 nights..I wish we had the whole week.. This place was AMAZING 😍. From the amazingly comfortable bed to the cute and warm room, yummy coffee and breakfast... We arrived around 3pm on Christmas and our key was awaiting us . The minute we walked in we felt welcomed. They have amazing coffee in the morning and a very nice breakfast..We decided to walk the down town strip with all the shops, but just couldn't wait to get back to the room to lay down in the marshmallow bed!!! We had a cheese & cracker platter waiting for us when we got back to our room. Mary was very nice and lovely to talk to.. I can not say enough about this B&B.... We will be back very soon... Thank you for making this Christmas full of wonderful memories in at Inn at 161!!

Spacious room with a fireplace-really comfortable. They serve a light breakfast that's quite filling. We needed to leave early to catch a flight and it was way before they served , however they left breakfast for us in the refrigerator. Above and beyond.

Both Inn houses feel modernized with class, clean lines, and a touch of farmhouse style and comfort. Complimentary glasses of wine and a fruit/cheese platter upon arrival. The continental breakfast is kicked up notches with your coffee prepared for you whipped (extra shot or as expresso etc.), plenty of space with places to eat in, enjoy outside garden areas, or a handy take to your room. All hosts were so nice and ready to serve needs/requests. It was so pleasant, we loved our stay and will definitely return. Easy nice walk down main street too!

Wonderful Bed and Breakfast! Our room was very luxurious, modern, spacious, and quiet. The people were very friendly and helpful. Very enjoyable stay and walking distance to the shops and wine tasting in Sutter Creek. We will stay again!

Very cute place with really nice owners and a delicious breakfast! They even made me a cappuccino! We were offered a glass of wine and charcuterie, but unfortunately weren't around during the time they were served in the evenings. The grounds are well maintained and it was quiet and peaceful. It is a short walk down the street to shops, restaurants, and wine tasting. I definitely plan to come back!

This place is a gem! We have returned home and cannot stop talking about our little weekend get-away. When I was searching for a place, initally it was for the Sutter Hotel. They were booked and I wanted to be near by and the Grey Gables Inn was next on the list. We are so thankful that happened! My husband and I could not have been any happier with this selection.

When we arrived to this beautiful B&B we were greeted by one of the new owners, Carry. She is an absolute wonderful individual, positive vibes and very hospitable. She made us feel like family right away.

Check-in was short and simple. We were also welcomed with a personal charcuterie board which we had in our room for some privacy although we were given the option to have our charcuterie board out in the common area or outside in the gardens. I thought it was very sweet and generous of the host to provide this as it was an unexpected treat to have especially after being on the road for a few hours with no stops.

Our room was delightful, we had two gorgeous robes in our room. The room is so spacious and comfortable. I miss it already! The room has some really neat features, a fan with adjustable speeds, an electric fire place which adds such a cozy touch to your stay, a flat screen tv, a small seating area. It also features a small coffee bar stand and a beautiful bath tub in the restroom. Nice huge windows which bring in alot of sun light during the day. My favorite piece of furniture, the massive biggy bed. It was so comfy and spacious.

Breakfast was INCREDIBLE! After having an amazing breakfast, I didn't want to leave. This stay was well worth every expense, we plan to always stay at the Grey Gables Inn when we decide to get away.
The new owners definitely put quality into their business and it shows how much they truly care for their customers. THANK YOU ❤.

Having a lovely time! My birthday weekend and my family joined us. Each room or suite has its own personality. Tea time and wine tasting hour are fun for a respite. Grounds are lovely to enjoy with a glass of wine from one of your purchases in Sutter Creek -- 10 wine tasting rooms in walking distance as well as multiple restaurants and boutiques. You can park your car and forget about it during your stay. So many great things in Sutter Creek and Grey Gables is a great B&B to call home base. Owners are delightful and welcoming. Definitely coming back!

Sue and Roger were excellent hosts! Roger made sure internet was working for us and Sue served an amazing breakfast. The gardens were very pleasant and peaceful, especially when sipping on afternoon tea and evening wine. The suite we stayed in was luxurious and very clean. Can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend the Grey Gables.

Beautiful from arrival to exit. Rooms are gorgeous, the parlor area was a great place for all of us to visit (4 of us, two rooms). Gracious host and hostess and wonderful tea time, wine and cheese and breakfast. Every detail was taken care of and when we decided to spend the evening in the yard of the property, wine glasses, lights and a candle awaited us. So peaceful 💙

This was our very first bed and breakfast and we are now hooked. Clean location. Great food. Stunning landscapes. The owner has the a/c on in the room when we arrived so it would not be hot. Yes it was like 105 outside.
We will be back again soon.

Made reservations for my daughter and her fiance, They loved it. Roger and Sue made their stay very special and the breakfast I hear was fantastic. They will definitely be returning to stay there again.
