Smylie’s Barber Lounge

This little barber shop is a gem for Sutter Creek. Chris Smylie and his team are well respected barbers.. We came there from the Sacramento area to take an advanced men's cutting class class from Chris. He is a wealth of knowledge!

I had been asking people whose haircuts I liked who did them and 3 different people said Brianna at Smylie's Barber Lounge. She did an awesome job on my long hair. She really knows what she is doing in the way she over directs the hair as she cuts and takes the time to do a good job. I will definitely be having her cut my hair from now on. It is also super easy to book appointments on your phone. Great experience.

Chris has been my barber for a few years now. Always a pleasure to interact with him and get a great haircut and beard trim. Very pleasant shop. A few off-street parking spots. Close to downtown Sutter Creek. A great value as well. Website for appointments makes for an easy choice for a great experience. As of April 2023 still my go to barber.

The best cuts EVER! Not often you can find a salon where *women* can actually get gorgeous, skilled precision cuts. Brianna and Nicole are real pros -- know how to read your hair, your head shape and hear your ideas. Each one does brilliant work. Scheduling appointments is easy online, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality of the cuts. I'm not easily impressed, but this is truly a 5-Star shop.

Great place for a hair cut. I got a messed hair cut a month before from another barber, Smylies fix with no problem. Very happy with my fresh cut. They use hot foam and shave after the cut. Old school all the way. 5 stars

I brought my 4 year old son in. I had called before they opened and received a prompt callback and was able to get an appoint a few hours later. My son was happy the whole time and he got a professional haircut with excellent service! We will be regulars here. Thanks again Brad and Chris!

Boyfriend decided to shave all his hair off since he was going bald. He was very nervous about it. And he needed his beard trimmed and shaped well to help get some confidence back. The gentleman who owns the place did a superb job!! He also asked my boyfriend questions and started up a convo to keep him relaxed and ease his anxiety a bit. He is very good at what he does!! We will be back!!!

My parter and I just moved to Sutter Creek and we’re in need of a good barber. We looked around and Chris and all the barbers at Smylie’s had the easiest system to check availability online, see their photos, and learn a little about them. So we booked and were very happy with our cuts! He asked a lot of questions to make sure he gave me exactly what I wanted and explained what it is he was asking if I didn’t understand the term. Not all barbers are created equal, haha! Very nice guy and great conversation. The best was the hot towel on the neck and ears afterwards to keep those pesky hair clippings out of your shirt, haha! Will be back and would recommend 10/10.

I have been going to Chris for cuts for over 10 years. He is great. The shop is clean and the parking is easy.

Devin is amazing! He gave my wild 2 year old an awesome cut! Made him feel comfortable (my bit even quit fussing after a little bit) I’m super impressed, now my little man is a stud!

Chris did an amazing job on my 3 year old son's hair and made such an impression on my son that he has literally told everyone who will listen from friends to Walmart greeters to random people on the street that he got his haircut at Smylie's.
