Mahogany Smoked Meats

This is a must-try place when you come to Bishop, because here is such a heaven of smoked meat. We tried some samples and picked three kinds of meats, they are so delicious. Even though I’m not a jerky lover, I love their meats very much. The ones we got are habanero buffalo and beef, and German sausage!

Every time I pass through Bishop, I stop here and buy the BEST fresh jerky for everyone in my family. It is now a tradition! They have just about every type of jerky you can imagine, from several different animals. I love their turkey jerky – – two types. They even have a smoked king salmon jerky!

Had to get some pastrami and Canadian bacon from the meat side. All of the various jerky flavors was very tempting. Turkeys smoking in the window is a trip. The deli was basic efficient and most importantly, delicious. Got a hot pastrami sandwich to go. Really generous amount of delicious meat. The potato salad was bland by my taste and had corn in it, which is different.

Holy moly that was an awesome sandwich 🥪 I got The Stroke, which is a pastrami/corned beef combo with swiss and mustard on Rye, and there was no shortage of meat. It was so tender and delicious 😋 I only finished half of it and had the rest later for an early dinner. Also came with a giant pickle spear. The potato 🥔 salad could use a little work. Not too fond of the yellow bell pepper 🤔 I did like the green onion and bacon in it. Overall, great sandwich. Look forward to trying them all 😛

Amazing jerky selection and assorted smoked meats. The thick-cut double smoked bacon is to die for! Staff are always super friendly and helpful, and the fresh made sandwiches from the counter are a must try!

Wow that's a sandwich! The Rodeo is an excellent blend of flavors with the gigantic serving of roast beef, pepper jack cheese, bacon, lettuce tomato and sour dough! I will be back.

The Best Jerky I have ever eaten. I tried the Teriyaki Beef Jerky it was delicious. So many varieties to pick from great place to get some Jerky.

I used to stop here on every trip to mammoth many years ago but haven’t been back in a while. It’s nice to see that not everything changes. They have a wide variety of jerky including elk, buffalo, turkey and of course different flavors of beef. I stick with the beef teriyaki and sweet & spicy and they’re excellent. Many smoked meats including ham, salmon, bacon and lots of sausages. I am disappointed in the lack of variety of smoked beef sticks though. The only two that I saw were hot and something called Landjager which was more like a link than a stick but was a fine cut, mildly flavored German sausage I enjoyed. Something I don’t remember on my previous trips was the deli. We had a few different kinds of sandwiches and they were all piled high with meat and very tasty. I wouldn’t think of going through Bishop without stopping here.

Don't pass this place without picking up some jerky! Unlike the store bought stuff, this jerky is tough, tasty, and just like my dad used to make! Really neat meat and flavor options, too! Also try their hot sandwiches; they're delicious and reasonably priced.

Hands down the best sandwich! They are loaded with so much meat it’s unbelievable. Friendly service. I stop in here every time I’m on in town. 🙌

Came in for some delicious Jerky and ended up buying bacon and ham too. Can’t wait to make myself a sandwich with it.

I’ve driven by for years and never stopped til now. So glad I did. The sandwiches are delicious and the selection of jerky is great but on the pricey side. However it’s to be expected and the quality is up there.

We had sandwiches, ohh mm gee they were good! The staff were great! The Rodeo and the Cali Cuban were really good! Grabbed some jerky, too.. Holy cow, it was GOOD! Buy some when you're in Bishop, we bought a lot.

Excellent Jerky and a deli for sandwiches on the go. I got the tuna and my buddy got the grilled "handyman." I highly recommend this place either on your way up to Mammoth or on your way out. The Jerky is good to keep in your pocket while you ride

This was the best sandwich I've ever had. We stopped on the wat to mammoth and also on the way back. Had the stroke and the had the handyman. They were both absolutely amazing. This will be a stop for us evert thime we go through bishop.

This is a "Must Stop Here" spot when we pass through Bishop. The Double Meats BLT is so good. One of the best BLTs I've had. Good clam chowder too. The sandwich comes with a pickle and a small side of really good potato salad. The staff is are friendly. They are famous for there Jerky. If you are looking for the restrooms they are out in the back corner of the parking lot. Great place to stop for lunch or a break.

I have been buying jerky here since 1997. It’s a must stop on the way to Mammoth ski trips. I was so very excited to see that they have internet ordering. I wish the minimum amount for free shipping was lower, but I just wait to stock up. My favorite jerk is the buffalo habanero jerky. I generally prefer a harder chew, leaner meat and this one hits the spot. The beef is good, but it’s softer than buffalo. I tried the Indian jerk for the first time recently (it’s usually sold out), and it’s definitely delicious…I can see why it usually sells out so quickly. There’s almost a cult following for this jerky.

Great pit stop in Bishop! Reminds me when I was a kid and our family would take camping trips in the area. Great selection of jerkies. Beef buffalo elk turkey jerkies all different spice levels. There's also a deli that makes lunch sandwiches and they have a good selection of hot sauces. If you're driving through Bishop on the 395 it's definitely worth a stop to pick up some delicious jerky!

A great stop on 395. Excellent jerky and smoked meats. Don't miss the bacon. It's expensive, but worth it if you love a smoky delicious treat. They have sandwiches and other sundries too.
